“Loved it! loved it!”

My husband and I stayed here for only one night. We loved it and the only disappointment came when we had to leave to go to our other hotel for one night and then on to our main resort. Bellavista B&B was great! The view A+, hospitality by Wendy A+, walking distance to town, robes great. Wendy's touch is wonderful. When we got back to the B&B late at night, there was soft music playing in the living room. We sat on the terrace in adirondick chairs looking out over the harbor w/ music in the background. It was a switch from putting 3 and 5 year old boys to bed! - March 2005

My wife and I and another friend spent a week at the Bellavista in mid-September this year (2004). It was traditional hurricane season, but fortunately we arrived on the tail end of things and enjoyed lots of sunny days. As other reviewers say, it's a wonderful place--and well worth the investment.

Wendy was very gracious and helpful. She's very knowledgeable and pointed us in the right direction to many sightseeing opportunities (although we got lost a couple of times driving around, trying to follow her directions and quirky homemade maps <grin, just kidding!>). If you decide to rent a car like we did, you'll probably need to spend a few hours getting used to driving on the left side of the road and negotiating the amzaingly steep hills over much of the island.

We took the fairy to St. John's several times (found some big seashells), and even took a day trip to the Baths in the Virgin Gorda, BVI -- per Wendy's recommendation. Everything was great, but if you take the car ferry over to St. John's, make sure you head back no later than 5 pm, or you may get stranded over there...

By the way, the food at the Bellavista is splendid -- loved the pancakes and granola, in particular. Think Wendy used to be a chef. But if you're big eaters like my wife and I (grin), the portions could leave you hungry for more! The food quality in a nearby restaurant "Sibs" (Mafolie) is well, so-so, but we had another wonderful meal at a restaurant called "Room With a View" (I think).

Linus and Lucy are cool, and when Wendy wasn't watching we slipped them a little snick-snack! Hard to resist -- they're so well-behaved and cute.

As I sit here in my office on a dreary day in December, I have fond memories of this vacation. I miss the enjoyable atmosphere--the pool and the hammock at the Bellavista. I miss Wendy's pleasant demeanor -- and the island of St. Thomas. Hope to go back sometime soon!

If your planning a trip to St. Thomas, I can't recommend enough to stay at Bella Vista B&B. For our first trip to St. Thomas (Nov. 20-26), I was first looking into staying at a big resort and I am so glad we changed our mind and decided to stay with Wendy! Pictures can't describe the beauty of her place and you can't find hospitality and generosity like this anymore. The rooms are beautiful and she has one of the best views in St. Thomas. What more can you ask for than waking up in the morning with the sun shining and seeing that gorgeous view of the cruise ships in the port? I can't ever see going back to St. Thomas and not staying here. I can't recommend it highly enough and we can't wait to go back! P.S. If you like pets, you'll love Linus, Lucy and Latte!

My husband and I just returned home after spending a week at the Bellavista in St Thomas celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. We could not have chosen a more beautiful spot! We have stayed in bed and breakfast properties in the U.S. and Europe and feel that the Bellavista is one of the very finest. Wendy, the owner is a lovely, gracious hostess whose exquisite gourmet breakfasts and warm attention to her guests creates a convivial and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were beautifully appointed with extras such as fluffy robes, toiletries and fresh tropical flowers on our pillow at night. The charming garden, pool and spectacular views from the patio and the balcony of our room made us feel as though we were staying in a private villa. Charlotte Amalie's shops and picturesque waterfront are only a five minute walk from the Bellavista. It is an easy 45 minute ferry ride from Charlotte Amalie to St John, where we spent two afternoons exploring the treasures of that island. We look forward to returning to the Bellavista to visit Wendy, as well as her 2 adorable cocker spaniels, Linus and Lucy!

My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend at the Bellavista Bed and Breakfast in St. Thomas. We first heard of this B & B by visiting tripadvisor.com. It was everything that we hoped for and more! The villa is gorgeous and has a breathtaking view. We enjoyed waking to a gourmet breakfast prepared by Wendy, the owner. She was wonderful! She helped us plan our days and nights perfectly! We usually started each day by sitting by the beautiful pool overlooking the harbour. We would then venture out for lunch at the beach at Secret Harbour, or even a day trip to St. John. We would end each day with a delicious dinner at one of the many fabulous restaurants in St. Thomas. Our stay was incredible and we can't wait to return.

Our family had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before. We had an wonderful time, in large measure because of the owner, Wendy, who made us feel right home. Her villa is lovely with a great view of the harbour, nice outside patio with small pool and the rooms were charming. Wendy's breakfasts were great as well. Each room is distinctive and has it's own bathroom. Very relaxing time.

We have stayed at several B&B's and Bellavista is the gem. The hostess, Wendy, is well versed in the art of hospitality and made us feel like old friends from the start. She is kind and outgoing and would have done anything we asked to make our stay pleasant. The house sits at the top of Denmark Hill overlooking Charlotte Amalie harbor and has a beautiful view of the harbor. We chose to stay at Bellavista following a several night stay at a local resort and we wished that we would have stayed the entire week at Bellavista. It was fun to watch the cruise ships come and go as we lounged by the pool. We felt like we had our own private villa. Wendy extended the run of the house to us and we enjoyed reading books from her library and listening to fun Caribbean music from the CD collection. We never felt uncomfortable in the living spaces when we didn't feel like being in our room. The room, however, was very artfully decorated and quite striking. It was very clean and tidy and Wendy took great care to tidy our room and even put freshly cut flowers on the pillows at night. We felt very pampered and it was a treat to stay at Bellavista.
