At Home in the Tropics was a perfect fit for our 2 day stay in STT, prior to our villa rental in St. John! Pam and Matt are wonderful innkeepers who really go the extra mile for their guests!
Our room (#1) was clean, cool (air conditioned), spacious, and beautifully decorated. In fact the entire property uses pastel greens with touches of blue in its tropical decor.
The gourmet breakfasts were delicious and included fresh fruits and juices daily. The breakfast entrees were different each morning and featured Pam's unique recipes for applesauce pancakes, omelets, and potatoes.
After returning from the beach in the afternoon, the swimming pool was refreshing and a peaceful oasis. We will definitely be returning to At Home in the Tropics for another visit !

We found St.Thomas and At Home In the Tropics as the most beautful island we have been too. It was easy to get around on the local transportation and the people were very friendly.
Pam and Matt could not have been nicer and helpful. Never skip her gourmet breakfasts, especially the bananna & almond pancakes....each morning was a surprise and delight and the view while eating made you want to just sit there all day. The rooms are spotless and relaxing.
You will be in great shape by the time you leave if you choose as we did, to climb the 125 (well spaced) steps when returning from shopping etc. or take a cab to the top of the hill.
There are fabulous restaurants and local places to have dinner, you won't need lunch after her breakfast feasts.
We were on our honeymoon and though not kids, had a very romantic atmosphere and we were totally relaxed there.
We went to Coki beach and enjoyed swimming with the tropical fish. A day trip to St. John's on the ferry was also enjoyable.
Don't miss going here. It is exquisite and reasonable vacation.

This charming B&B was absolutely perfect in every way...tasteful rooms, fabulous view, good food, much ambience, gracious hosts. We (3 couples) had only a single night there prior to going over to St. John. On next trip to the USVI, we will plan more nights at Pam and Mark's delightful B&B.

We stayed for 4 nights from April 2-6th 2008 - we chose this B&B based on reviews on Trip Advisor. We loved it. It was one of the most relaxing experiences we've had. The location is fantastic: close to shopping, restaurants and the waterfront....the B&B itself is beautiful - our room was tastefully decorated in island colors of white and blue....and the views were stunning. Matt and Pam were such wonderful hosts and we can't say enough about the breakfasts....every day breakfast was a gourmet meal starting with fresh fruit....we can't wait to go back!

We recently stayed at At Home In The Tropics for my 30th birthday and had one of our best vacations! Pam and Matt are great hosts and Pam is a fabulous cook. She had a new tasty dish ready every morning accompanied with fresh fruit. They keep a very clean and comfortable house as well as a sparkling pool. They do a great job of taking care of you while also giving you plenty of privacy at the same time. It was basically like having your own home in the Caribbean...

They also have a great location compared to some of the other B&B's and smaller hotels we found. You just walk down the steps that are in their pictures and you are on Main St (Dronningens Gade) where a lot of the shops are located. You can easily get an open air cab to the beach from here as well. At dinner time there are a lot of restaurants (recommend Inn on the Waterfront & Herve) and places for happy hour (recommend Greenhouse - great specials) within walking distance.
All in all this was a great stay and we plan on coming back. This is a definite recommend!

Thanks!

We were totally delighted with our stay at "At Home in the Tropics". The views of the harbour were perfect, the owners made us feel like we were favoured guests and we met lovely people while we were there. The breakfasts were totally scrumptious and were different both days. They consisted of fresh, home-made food including pancakes, home-made scones, fruit, delicious coffee, juices, eggs, bacon and sausages, to name a few items. It was all good. Our room was delightful. It was bright and cheery. There was ethernet internet access in our rooms as well as television.

The owners did everything to make our stay more enjoyable. At one point, Pam brought us an umbrella, "just in case", and a minute later it was pouring--just for a few minutes--but we were impressed with the timing.

Before we arrived, we were a bit worried about the number of steps down to the shopping area, but we quite enjoyed the walk back uphill to our hotel after touring around and testing out various restaurants in the area. If we were too tired, we could have taken a taxi, but didn't need to.

By the time we left we were wishing we were there for a longer stay.

My husband and I had a wonderful week at "At Home in the Tropics". We liked the central location, the onsite pool, the absolutely delicious breakfasts, and the overall charm of the place. Each morning we would take our coffee and tea to the little deck (we were in room 2) and look out at the cruise ships docking in the harbor. Pam was a wonderful hostess---helpful but not intrusive. The place is immaculate (very important to me!), and you really feel she loves what she is doing. The honor bar was great, because most evenings we would head back to the B&B after dinner and spend time on the porch. Pam was very accomodating if you wanted to eat breakfast a little earlier--she did that for us one morning, and for another couple another day. Another example of how helpful she was: we got terribly lost on our way to the B&B the evening we arrived, as our flight was 3 and 1/2 hours late, so we were driving in the dark and couldn't see any of the landmarks on Pam's map. After our third attempt to find the place I called her, and she came to where we were and guided us to the B&B! We would definitely recommend a stay at "At Home in the Tropics".
