What a hidden gem this B&B is! The rooms are cute, cozy and functional. The views are awesome! The Breakfasts are the Best! Every single detail is thought out from the single brew coffee to the available snacks if you get hungry. Clean, Comfortable and cozy yet very functional and centrally located. If you are going to St Thomas for a few days and want to stay downtown - but feel like you are not - this is the place. You can walk to the ferries to St. Johns in about 5-7 minutes or shopping in about the same. We stay in a lot of B&B's and this ranks as one of the best. It feels like a small private boutique hotel!!!

My friend and I stayed at At Home in the Tropics the first week of Nov 2009. We found the inn on Trip Advisor and were very impressed by the reviews and great photos. We were not disappointed!! Pam and Matt are wonderful hosts. They really go above and beyond to help us feel at home and discover all we want to see on the island and beyond. Pam's breakfasts are fabulous. We would sit on the porch overlooking the harbor and plan our day. Pam and Matt both have great knowledge of the local restaurants and excursions to other islands and assisted us in making plans, including renting a car so we could explore on our own. We were able to walk to most shopping and food and taxis are readily available when needed. The timing was great as the weather was moderate and being still off season, the islands were not crowded. We will definitely do this trip again!!!

We were only in St. Thomas for a couple nights and found Home in the Tropic's in searching online. We could not of found more freindly and accommodating stay. Great location, the room was very, very clean and property is historic and unique. The Husband was kind enough to give us a ride to the ferry and we would highly recommend this location for those seeking a peaceful, quaint stay.

This B & B proved to be the perfect place for us to begin our lives together. After a very romantic wedding ceremony on Lindquist Beach, we spent the rest of our honeymoon At Home in the Tropics. We thoroughly enjoyed the picturesque view from the breakfast table while savoring Pam's wonderful orange cranberry muffins and other delicious homemade fare. With only four guest rooms, this B & B was ideal for us. Pam and Matt were so helpful suggesting great places to dine and visit on St. Thomas. We would love to come back for our first anniversary. Great place if you're looking for a quiet and relaxed get-away.

I received excellent service. The owners are very friendly and eager to help in any reasonable way. They have lived in the USVI for many years and are familiar with the restaurants and places to visit. The web site photos are accurate, but can’t give true sense of the beautiful view from the B & B. The room and bed were comfortable. Again, the photos give a clear sense of the rooms. They are tastefully decorated and clean and have all the standard amenities. The B&B is convenient to downtown, but near the top of Blackbeard’s Castle hill, so travelers should know that if they plan to walk they will need to be able to climb quite a few stairs to reach it. However, the owners know good taxi companies, and they came quickly and on time. The breakfasts are imaginative, ample, and delicious. The menu changed every day, so there was a new delight waiting for us daily. There is a very nice sitting room in addition to the covered porch for reading or other quiet activities, a pool for swimming or just cooling off. It is very secure, behind a locked gate.

This is the fourth time I have stayed here and each time it has been very pleasant and without any difficulties of any kind. Other than the steps to climb from the downtown or the few steps down from the upper street, I can't think of anything that I would warn a traveler about.

This was my second trip to St. Thomas and my first stay At Home in the Tropics Bed and Breakfast. Not only is this B & B tastefully appointed and exceptionally clean, it is located in a neighborhood where you can walk to many major attractions (shopping downtown, terrific restaurants, historic tours – Blackbeard’s Castle). As a female business traveler, I was exceptionally comfortable staying At Home in the Tropics. The B&B is a safe and secure place to stay, offers an exceptionally lovely common area with a view that is nothing short of spectacular, and a crystal-clear swimming pool for a refreshing dip at the end of a workday. The other reviews that describe the love and care that Pam takes in preparing her delectable breakfasts are NOT overstated. Each breakfast was a true delight! When I needed a place to dine, Pam and Matt consistently provided excellent (and accurate) recommendations for local restaurants. I enthusiastically recommend At Home in the Tropics. Pam’s gracious hosting made this a memorable and relaxing trip.

I absolutely loved our stay in St. Thomas and At Home in the Tropics. Pam and Matt were very gracious hosts who are very familiar with the island and give good advise on the must see, do and eat! The inn is kept immaculate and was very surprisingly quiet. I had to work while there, but my husband was able to join me as a leisure stay. He enjoyed sitting on the patios at the inn and watching men shimmy up coconut trees to reap the harvest. The view from the inn is absolutely incredible and the inn is situated in a spot that allows you to walk to nearby shops and restaurants. The breakfasts served by Pam are incredible. Make sure she makes her fritta, it was so good, we requested it a second time during our stay. The beaches there are like no other! We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have extended it even longer than our seven days there.
