A short walk from ships. The entire area is clean and inviting.Plenty of shops and places to eat and enjoy an adult beverage. View of the marina and large yachts of the wealthy.Much more relaxing than the downtown hustle and bustle.

Fairly nice ambiance at night if you dine there (we went to Blue Ecru and saw the other restaurant next to it but didn't eat there). Not much action around there on a Tue. night in mid June. Only a few shops and those are mostly high end and were closed when we were there. Since we didn't hang out there during the daytime, I'm not sure what it is like then. There just wasn't enough to really make me care about spending anymore time there.

The Yacht Haven Grande (YHG) as you see it today is the former site of the Ramada Yacht Haven Hotel (4 star pink building) that was devastated by hurricane Marilyn in 1995.
(see http://stthomassource.com/content/news/local-news/1999/09/23/ramada-yacht-haven-available-85-million)

This place has been rebuilt to house high end shops such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Coach, etc. There are some mid range stores in between like Bebe, White House Black Market, Cache, etc but this is a place to find higher end items, as well as berthing for luxury boats and yachts. BCBG was here previously, I haven't seen it recently, so it might have left or went out of business. YHG lies right outside of Havensight and is a medium stroll to downtown if walking. From Havensight, this is a short 5-10 minute stroll. There are some restaurants here and there is a place to check your baggage at theYHG Welcome center. But this is the premier luxury shopping area on St. Thomas if you are looking for higher end merchandise outside of watches (except for Bvlgari), then you came to the right place. Downtown has some boutiques as well, Benetton, Nicole Miller, etc. Downtown also has tons of jewelry stores and Rolex, which I still think is in business. Would recommend shopping around for watches and jewelry before committing, as you might get a better deal elsewhere. If it is the brand you are craving, you can always look at the website before going to determine if these are the stores you want to go to. The website address is included in this review. Even if you are not shopping, it is a nice stroll. You can grab a coffee at the coffee shop while there visiting with some friends. Enjoy!

Easy to walk to if you've arrived on a cruise ship, and worth the walk to enjoy the harbour and the multitude of expensive toys docked there!
