“Maybe the most beautiful place I've ever been”
Reviewed 12 June 2011

Not hyperbole when I say this may be the most beautiful place I've ever been. Stunning beauty. Was told to go on Sun, Thu or Fri to avoid cruise ship crowd. Burgers were good from restaurant, drinks weren't for the weak, and snorkeling gear was worth the price. We might go back again even though our hotel has a nice beach.

“If theres no cruise ships...”
Reviewed 5 June 2011

With 4 cruise ships in port. I would NOT recommend going here. Not 3 or even 2. We stayed in St.Thomas for 10 days in total and only drove in one side of the parking lot at Magens Bay and out the other. You couldn't even see the sand, from the amount of people on this beautiful beach. What I can recommend, with out giving away any secrets, is to do alot of research before you go and do not hop on one of those "cattle carriers" with the rest of the "yaughtees". But this also goes the same, for a few other beaches on St.Thomas that the "cattle carriers" haul you to. We flew in. Rented a jeep and explored on our own. You will have a totally different perspective, of the US & BVI, if you do this. But if you do arrive on a cruise ship. Spend the extra money and either rent a jeep or find a way to Linquist Beach (your typical beautiful Caribbean Beach. With No crowds). Or try Bologno Bay... Magens Bay, was beautiful from the road that travels high above it. But it wasent worth the hassel, with so many other beautiful beaches on St.Thomas.

Awesome beach, beautiful water, crowded only because there were 3 cruise ships in and I was on one of them. Highly recommend a visit.

“Not a must, but if you do go, make sure its later in the afternoon.”
Reviewed 2 May 2011

My boyfriend and I got there around 1:30 and it was still pretty crowded with families and cruise ship tours. We walked down a little ways and found a nice quiet spot to relax. The water was amazing! The view is beautiful. There is a cocktail waitress that comes around as well. The best part of the day, by far, was around 3-4pm when most people left and the wildlife arrived. We watched as flocks of pelicans swarmed above then took synchronized dives into the water to catch their dinner. This is a must see if you make the trip to Magens Bay. Like action nature channel right before your eyes.
