Owner description: Hailed as one of the world's most beautiful, this breathtaking bay along St. Thomas' rugged north coast is ideal for swimming and snorkeling with all the conveniences of parking, lifeguards, equipment rental, freshwater showers, restaurants and bars.

Went to Magens Bay to check out the "Big Beach". I think it spans around 3/4 mile long.

Cost $5/person to get in and there is LOTS of parking. My suggestion is to drive all the way down to the left once you pay and park near the end.

Been told this beach gets very crowded with cruise shippers, so we went on a day with only 1 ship at port. Was very nice and not nearly as crowded as we have heard it gets.

Not the most beautiful of beaches, but spans a decent distance which made it pretty nice.

There are restroom/changing houses in several locations. There is also a bar and walk-up restaurant.. Suggest bringing your own food as the restaurant is pretty Americanized with burgers, chicken sandwich, hot dogs, and even whole pizzas. Burgers and such were $10. Would have rather had brought a deli sandwich in a cooler.

If you like long walks on the beach or water jogging, this is the place to do it. At dusk there were also lots of people that came to work out by running along the beach and parking lots drives.

Check the papers for cruise ship schedules to make sure you come on a slow ship day.

This beach is very nice. It's not hard to find a spot, since the beach is so long. Just avoid Cruise Ship days as it is a magnet for cruise ship passengers. There is a small entrance fee, but I think it's worth it.

Magen's Bay is a beautiful beach to visit. It's about $4 a person if you are not a local. Cheap price but you could visit many other beaches are amazing that you can visit. There's a little shop and a place to get food. You can also rent water gear there.

Magens Bay beach is just beautiful. The scenery including the houses built on the clilffs makes for a great beach setting. The sand is perfect - rent a chaise and a floating raft for the water. And, last but not least, get the pizza...the best!!!!!!

The water is warm and so still, it's like a big bathtub; perfect for lounging and lazing. I've been to Magen's Bay about a half-dozen times on various cruises, and I never think twice about going (although next time, based on the comments I've read, I might also check out Lindquist as well; maybe Sapphire if the repairs are done).

Yes, it CAN get crowded (especially when several ships are in town) but I always make sure I'm on one of the extreme ends to escape the crush, and I always go straight there in a cab (it's ALWAYS easy to get one at the pier and share with a few other couples so the cost is rarely more than $10).

I find that if I'm one of the first people there in the morning, the beach is always pristine (the tourists are the ones who litter and spoil it, but they do their best to keep up with it).
