Owner description: A favorite of windsurfers, the beach has fine white sand and beautiful views of St. John and offshore cays, and offers excellent snorkeling at the reef to the east, near Pettyklip Point.

We have visited St. Thomas twice now and have stayed both times in the same private condo on Sapphire Beach. We love the privacy, gorgeous views, accommodations, food, amenities and best of all is the view of the ocean & St. John! We go thru VRBO to rent our condo and wouldn't stay any place else! A big bonus is it also has gated security so it's very safe!

My wife and I lived in the apartments overlooking Sapphire Beach for about 3 months in 2012. We snorkeled Sapphire Beach several times a week. Every single time we saw our friends the turtles. So much so that we gave them names. There is 'Bump', '7D' and '8D'.. etc. We love it there. We go back regularly. The beach itself is a very nice beach and the legal conundrum the place was in seems to have been resolved and they started renovation. The sand is beautiful, there is a little colony of Bahamian ducks that is sure to amuse children of all ages. There are a few vendors that offer anything from pareos to drinks and food from the nearby restaurants. This is a great beach for a morning of afternoon at the beach. Beach chairs are available, though not being a user of such items, I cannot tell you much more.

Pretty beach, was not crowded when we were there July 29-Aug 3. You can paddleboard, kayak, swim, snorkel. I heard some snorkelers saw turtles and rays. I did not see any myself when I went there in the evening. We did stay at this beach so it was close and the sunsets were beautiful.

It appears that some progress is being made at this property. The buildings are being repaired and the former restaurant is undergoing renovations (albeit slow). The beach remains the highlight of this property as well as the view.

You have to see to believe. Love this beach, this island and the local island time feel. Locals can be from your home state you never know until you start talking... Ran into so many people who started a vacation they could not leave. It's beautiful!
