We just went back after 25 years for our anniversary. We honeymooned there and thought why not? We were not disappointed. Although it is not extravagant it was restful, staff was great, food was great...at least what we ate. Drinks a little watered down but ask for double shot and they were great. Just busy enough. Iggies nightly entertainment and great place to grab a quick lunch.never a problem to find beach chairs and room was clean although not the most updated...Hated to leave peace and quiet but will not wait 25 years to return...great place...

Room Tip: Oceanfront and ocean view of equal convenience

Great vacation!! The room was clean but a little run down -- could use some updating. The beachfront room, however, made up for it! HIGHLY recommend Heavenly Days - turtle/snorkling tour!!! OUTSTANDING!! Crew was so friendly and helpful. Bolongo Bay staff is not overly friendly but pleasant. There is one lady in the gift shop (morning shift) that was downright rude. I would go back.

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms are excellent!!!

I really liked this property, especially in comparison to the best western carribe. The room was a nice size, balcony didn't have much of a view but you could still enjoy it. The hotel breakfast was $16.95 for a ceap buffet which I think should've beem free, but I will definitely return.

Room Tip: It looks as if all the rooms are nice. It's not the absolute best but it's worth it.

We made an impromptu 2nd honeymoon trip & chose Bolongo Bay. It was medium priced of all the resorts in St Thomas. The rooms are not fancy. There are tile floors, & there are only small showers. The mattresses are very comfortable. But, you open the doors to the patio & the view takes your breath away!

There are two restaurants, Iggies Beach Bar & the Lobster Grille. Both were great. The Lobster Grille has great breakfasts. Although, we didn't get the buffet, it appeared they had a breakfast buffet on M-W-F. The Lobster Grille had great dinners & I loved the bar.

Iggies opens for lunch & dinner. They also have live entertainment each night; all were great! Food was good too (although, I liked Lobster Grille better)

There is also another restaurant, Mims, within walking distance. You can reach Mims by walking along the beach. We didn't realize that until we had walked over on the road, which you don't want to do because the roads are very narrow, & drivers aren't quite what us mainlanders are used to. However, the food at Mims was very good

All the non-motorized water equipment is free to resort guests. There are jet skis that you can rent, as well. Be sure to either go out on the dive boat, or take one of the two daily cruises.

You can either book your stay as an all-inclusive or just al la carte. You will have to do the math to see which one is more cost-efficient for you but remember that all non-motorized water sport equipment is free to all resort guests, NOT just the all-inclusive guests. It is sort of mid-leading on the website.

You can book additional trips (outside the resort) at the boutique. Try eating at Glady's Restaurant in the shopping district. It was so good that we ate there twice!

My wife and I spent a recent weekend at Bolango Bay Beach Resort. A three-star hotel rating is appropriate. This hotel is not trying to convince you it is something that it isn’t. It is a perfectly acceptable beach hotel for those on a budget or medium budget as we normally are. The beach was very nice with plenty of chairs and water sports equipment. A few more chairs with some shade would have been nice. Having the choice of two restaurants was nice and both were extremely affordable by Virgin Island standards. Drinks were reasonably priced, especially at happy hour. We ate several meals at the resort.

Our issues with the hotel had more to do with the room itself. Being so close to a fairly busy road there was always vehicle noise. The windows and doors are louvered so there is no way to block out the sound. We had people on a balcony near us conversing until about 3am each night. They were not being loud, but it sounded like they were in our room. The sound simply carries through the windows and doors and the only way to help drown it out is turn the AC down low. In January you don’t really need the AC, but in order to help mute some of the noise it is a necessity. If I were to stay here again I would definitely be bringing ear plugs.

Other than the noise, the rooms were fairly Spartan, but again, perfectly acceptable as this is what we expected. The shower, as others have mentioned, is small. Three types of flooring in our room. :)

One last note, we arrived at noon, knowing check-in wasn’t until 3. They were unable to get our room ready prior to 3, but they did give us a key to change in the exercise room so that we could go sit at the beach.

The location of the resort was convenient to both Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook.

We didn't have any issues with the staff.

Room Tip: There are some rooms that are furthest from the office that do not have a direct sea view. They are...

In 1992, we honeymooned at a former Doumeng resort. Ten years later, we followed them to Bolongo Bay and renewed our vows. Everything was wonderful, so when it came time to choose a resort again in St. Thomas, it was a no brainer.
From the moment we (my husband, myself, along with our 18 &19 year old sons) arrived on Dec. 30th, the staff could not do enough for us. We booked the all-inclusive package for 5 nights & it was worth every penny. We spent our days soaking up the sun on the beach, having a great time with the water sports equipment and sailing on the Heavenly Days. A day did not go by without being asked "if everything was OK/is there anything you need?" by the staff as well as the owners.

The food was delicious and the bartenders always knew the perfect drink to make. Each night, Iggies came alive with music and the Carnival show was great also!

When it came time to leave, we said our farewells and left for the airport. Eight hours later, we we found ourselves stranded at the airport because of cancelled flights due to (storm) Hercules and frigid temperatures in the north. We made a quick call to Bolongo Bay and was immediately assured that they would do anything possible to help us out. We returned and wound up staying an additional 6 days which was when the first flight was available for the 4 of us! The staff was so helpful and accommodating.
Aside from the doting staff, the food and drinks were always good and plentiful...and most important-available any time throughout the day and well into the night.
Bolongo Bay is NOT a high rise hotel. It is a small, intimate family run resort where everyone becomes friends quickly.
Tip-The beach can be rocky/full of coral- water shoes are the perfect solution.

Room Tip: Everything is so close , that all rooms are a 3 minute walk to everything

I cannot say enough good things about Bolongo Bay Beach Resort. From the minute we arrived to find our names on the welcome board to the hugs we received from staff members upon our departure, we felt welcome and wanted. We opted for the all-inclusive package and were not disappointed. There are 2 restaurants on site with enough variety that we didn't have to eat the same thing twice unless we wanted to. The food is delicious and the portions plentiful. Every staff member we encountered at Bolongo was amazing - wait staff, maintenance, managers - every one, friendly, engaging and charming. They make it clear that our enjoyment of their resort is priority 1. The beach is beautiful, plenty of lounges and lots of shade if you want it. The water is beautiful, but the bottom is rocky, so definitely bring watershoes or flip flops to wear into the bay. We took 2 trips arranged by the resort - 1 to St. John for the day and a half-day catamaran sail to swim with the turtles. Both were enjoyable and we felt we got our money's worth. We will most definitely be back.

Room Tip: We chose a premium beachfront room and were on the second floor - the views are beautiful and you ar...
