The Old Barn Tea Room is located in a converted barn set in idyllic rural surroundings near Pen y Fan and Neuadd Reservoir.

We stopped just for tea, but were pleasantly surprised to see the selection of home made cakes on offer- so we indulged in scones , jam and cream too. Tea was served in bone china, and real loose leaf tea in tea pots! The scones were homemade, warm and delicious!( Mrs Beeton's recipe were we told).

The barn was clean, comfortable and the welcome warm. Julie and Linda, the hosts, were chatty and full of local stories - ask about the Thong Song!

A very pleasant interlude, and very reasonable priced.

Having spent the morning hill-walking in the Brecon Beacons we saw a sign in the car park advertising the Old Barn. We headed down the road the quickly found it. It was a quiet afternoon & we were the only customers & got a warm welcome. We opted for an afternoon snack which was a tuna sandwich, some crisps, Welsh cake & fantastic scones, jam & cream which was all washed-down with lashings of tea. This was just the sort of refreshment we needed after a few hours walking. Is it worth a visit? Yep, absolutely! Would I go back when in the area again? Again, yep, in a heartbeat.
