Booked to on Valentines weekend for the one night spa package. My wife had two excellent 55minute treatments. The food was excellent. I can recommend the calfs liver... The staff were wonderful, very polite and accommodating. Only downside is the rooms look very tired and need updating.. Otherwise had a great time.

Recently I enjoyed a spa break at Nant Ddu Lodge. On arrival, as our room wasn't ready it was suggested we had coffee/tea or lunch - we chose the latter and had a well presented salad. By the time we had finished our leisurely lunch our room was ready. There was ample space for the three of us in the bedroom and the bathroom was spacious. A leisurely afternoon was spent in the Spa where staff were helpful and friendly. There was an interesting choice for the evening meal that was well presented and tasty. After a good night's sleep we were once again in the dining room and again enjoyed a tasty breakfast. We enjoyed further Spa treatments with staff again helpful and friendly. Overall our stay was a positive experience, however as Welsh speakers we were disappointed to find that S4C was not available on the TV nor was BBC Wales. We did not establish whether this was a management decision or a problem with reception. As the hotel is located well within Wales it is an issue that needs attention.

As part of a group of 8, 40 & 50 somethings intent on walking, drinking and eating their way through the Brecon Beacons, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Very friendly staff, stunning food and very comfortable accomodation, it turned out to be the perfect venue for a long weekend getaway. I would definitely recommend it as a base for a weekend break and a great base for a walking holiday.

Lovely bed area but bathroom required window to be open when I showered - request of hotel - onto drafty, public corridor. Young lady at reception must have been tired when I arrived and was quite abrupt in pointing out that although I was booked for B&B, it meant continental breakfast and a cooked b'fast would be extra.

Absolutely NO mobile phone signal or internet - communication black spot - not helpful.

Not a great choice to stay if you're on business!

This was a well needed stop over that did not disappoint. What a great break! Will go again for sure. We took advantage of a special winter warmer offer and in addition were upgraded on arrival automatically. We ended up with a suite. This was a bonus but it was at the very back and a very short walk out the back doo to our room. Even in our robes this was no big issue and a lovely suite. There is a free dvd service available. Our package included £25 each off diner and this we excellent. We had eaten there before and the standard is excellent. The leisure facilities were excellent and above standard for a 3 star hotel complex. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.

One night business trip. Really good dinner and the service in the dining room was excellent.
Breakfast too - even though I was before the opening time!

Only problem was in the morning - at 06.30 main light in bedroom [Room 8] did not work nor did the pump for the shower. Reception did not open until 07.00 - and shower and light were working at 07.30 - an hour too late!!!

Room Tip: Shower in room 8 iffy

The friendliness of the staff actually actually almost over came the poor service at breakfast and dinner. This hotel was not so busy yet service was impossibly slow...30 minutes for a poached egg?
First room offered did not have a supported shower ..ok if I loved a bath but my days of holding a shower head in the bath are gone, however the staff quickly allocated me a new room
Gym and pool were great, decent size swimming pool
Food was ok and probably equated to the price of the rooms
What the hotel fail to tell you is that phone reception is almost non existent and internet reception is poor...so guess for business it is really not suitable. As a getaway from all of it then I would say yes
I would not return on a business trip but certainly would for a few days away from it all including my phone

Room Tip: Not room nine
