“Bucket List Qualifier”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

Took a catamaran from St. Thomas (USVI) to St. John. I was whining about the price until the trip began. First, your sailing though the Caribbean for an hour of so. Crystal clear blue waters, small islands, great drinks and sun until you reach Francis Bay. There the boat anchors about 100 yards off shore. You can snorkel or just swim into the shore and enjoy a primitive beach. No facilities hear, but the catamaran had them. It's a pick up and go site, part of St. John's which is 80% National Park, including Francis Bay. Really, it is something that will stick with you for a lifetime. PS-our boat was the only group in the area, about 25 of us. If you go into the jungle, you will find some paths and roads but this is really not a hiking experience, this is a lay back and enjoy the beach experience. Not sure if there is a fee for the National Park but would guess there is. The captain of our boat stated he pays a fee to anchor off shore.

“Great”

Worth effort of getting here. Not very crowded. Little shade during the afternoon hours but provides a great area for snorkeling. Would definitely recommend. Bring a cooler of snacks and water.

“Great beach to have a picnic”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

I have been to this beach numerous times over the yrs from 1999-2012. And we always have a great time here. whether it's just sun tanning, beach picnic, or snorkeling out to Mary's point and while your there don't forget to head over to Annaberg it's right there by Francis Bay.

“My favorite all around beach experience”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

One of the best beaches and some of the better snorkling at the same location, so I have to say it was a great place to enjoy. The snorkeling to the far right is really nice though beware of some current as you may have to work coming back. The turtles were very large. We set up early at the far left end by the rocks and you can snorkel around to a hidden sandy beach. This is one of the closest beaches on the North Shore near Coral Bay.

“Quiet and beautiful!”
Reviewed 12 August 2013

Excellent beach to visit when the cruise ships are in St. Thomas and Trunk Bay and other areas are filled with tourists! A stingray kept coming around to visit us, right up by the shore.
