“Excellent service, nice room”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

The room was decorated as the typical Premier Inn. I had some troubles connecting to the WiFi after I paid, so I asked the recepcionist for help. She was very helpfull and friendly, spoke to the customer service assistant for me and they solve the issue quickly.

The restaurant is "Table table", located in a building near the hotel. Their service was very slow and it took a lot of time to have the dinner served and then, to pay. We considered that they had too few workers at the establishment on the dinner service.
Breakfast was nice, peacefull and variated, and they gave a better service that time.

Such a lovely environment to stay.
We have visited this Premiere Inn over the past 12 years when visiting my parents. Dad's sadly gone and Mam is now safely moved to a residential home closer to my family near Cambridge. The staff are so friendly. I will name Clare, Paul, Angela and Lindsay who have all been tremendous over the troubled time after Dad died. The staff at Table Table again named as Natalie, Mel, Josh, Bethan and Matt are so friendly and welcoming. With Mam moving I feel like my family will miss some good friends. We will be back as we have 1 friend in Merthyr, so see you all closer to Christmas.

we are a group of 4 all in our 70 and requested quiet rooms these face private houses, and were all odd no we had 17 and 19, this is a small inn room 21 is at the end of the corridor , very quiet. the inn is 50 yards acroos the car park from
the pub where we eat ,normal good food not self service, bar has a choice of
several beers smoe hand drawn. It is easy to miss the entrance ,this is on a dual carridge way and the is a brown sign [tourist type] turn in there or you will have go all round the street to get in. if you are coming up from cardiff
you have go up past the inn on the other d/carridge way and come back
a bonus is the train station is just across the 2 roads a 3 min:walk,
we paid £6 return to cardiff, got off at queens 1 min: to shops.

Convenient parking and a friendly welcome from the receptionist set the tone for this one night visit. First floor room at the front of the house was clean, of a good size & generally very comfortable. The ensuite was fine although more water pressure in the overbath shower would have been welcome and the fixed head looked as though the spray angle could be changed but resisted my attempts to do so. Minor nuisance from traffic noise and the creaking corridor floor. Better soundproofing between rooms would have been nice but was not a serious problem. Free wifi for 30 minutes then £3/day. Usual tea/coffee facilities. Dinner & breakfast was served in the Table Table pub/restaurant across the car park. Friendly, helpful staff. The dinner was the usual pub fare and reasonable in quality & price. The full breakfast was very good being cooked to order and was hot. All in all a satisfactory overnight stay and I would be happy to stay there again.

Room Tip: A room at the back of the house overlooking the car park would probably be quieter with less traffic...

I have stayed at this Premier Inn one or two nights a week for nearly nine months. The rooms are exceptionally clean, although the downstairs rooms can be a bit noisy due to creaky floorboards upstairs, and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The adjoining restaurant , again has lovely staff, has a limited table table menu but you know what you are going to get. The breakfast is good value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room
