We chose Cruz Bay Watersports purely for convenience, as they departed right from the dock at the Westin where we were staying. This is a major plus for Westin residents. We did 2 sails; a Sunset Cruise and the Jost von Dyke Day trip.
It's a beautiful boat and the crew both times were fantastic and very attentive.
The Sunset cruise was our favourite as we had great weather that night, and an amazing sunset but mostly because there was only approx 15 passengers so it was a much more personal experience.
The Jost day trip was, as other people on this site have mentioned, really just a sail around to visit 2 different bars (admittedly in 2 amazing, isolated locations!) We stopped to snorkel for an hour but it was at 8.45 in the morning and I would have preferred a few more stops, later in the day. The crew then started serving their signature amazing cocktails, really better than most of the bars on the islands!
There were approx 30 passengers on the boat for this trip so it was a bit more of a mass experience, although the boat is big enough, I would have preferred something a little more personal. You can't choose your fellow passengers!
Another downside was the hour we spent standing in the queue at Immigration on returning to the US Virgin Islands. After a long day in the sun drinking Painkillers this was too much pain to handle and in future I think I'd stay in the US just to avoid this! The children on the boat became very impatient!
Bring the suncream!
