Had a great day sailing to Jody with captain Rick and Bonnie. They provided great service and conversation about the islands. Would recommend.

Four of us went out with Captain Rick on 6/21/18 and it was the highlight of our trip! Cimarron is a nice sized boat that smoothly sails through the water. Lots of padded seating around the boat to take in all the views. A couple of stops for snorkeling with the best being in Christmas Cove - tons of fish, stingray and a turtle! Also pizza delivery to the boat while we were snorkeling from the boat Pizza Pi and it was the best pizza after being in the water! Sailing is the best way to appreciate St. John and take in the beautiful views from the water - and I highly recommend and a trip on Cimarron with Captain Rick - it really was the highlight of our trip to St. John!

Took group of six, mostly family. It was for all of us our first trip ever on a sail boat...that actually SAILED. We didn’t know what to expect, especially since we’ve been here before and did private charters on non-sailing vessels. My initial thought was it was going to take forever to get to Jost Van Dyke, but shortly thereafter for the first time I “got” why people love sailing. No loud motors is more peaceful than we could have ever imagined. And the pace of 6 or 7 knots is soothing on Yacht Cimmarron. In fact its down right more enjoyable to be on the water longer. If you want to go to Jost to drink and that’s your main goal, take a water taxi. Sailing lends time for conversation. Sophie as first mate was a knowledgeable sail boat racer so she was full of keen insight. And Captain Rick has been sailing for 30+ years. The sound of those sails buffeting in the wind and propelling the mono-hull was just a cool experience. We’ll do this again with Captain Rick.

Although Captain Rick was nice, the boat was a mess with few places made to sit.Below decks was a mess, but he lived there. The mate did not even introduce hersalf. Then as far as appetizers, hor's deouvres, and beverages, there was a plate of fruit. Then then did not even have any white or red wine. Seriously, no wine on a Sunset Cruise? It seemed like the mate had checked Rick's private bar stock, and offered what was there. Vodka, Painkillers (just OK).
Given there are few choices for sailing right now on St. John, it was a good sail past interesting islands. Anyway, Rick is off to Maine end of the month, so find another option.

In response
Cimarron has seating for 14
But we limit the trips to 12
As for The mate
She couldn’t be more personable
And red wine?!?!
No one serves red wine on a sailboat
Please look for a cattle boat next time

Captain Rick is awesome! He graciously offered to take my husband and I (along with one other small group) out for a sunset sail on short notice when no other companies were operating. There were only 6 guests including ourselves. Everyone had plenty of room - my husband and I sat on a bean bag chair at the bow! Beer and fresh fruit were provided. It was so peaceful compared to sails we've done with larger groups, and Captain Rick told us about all the islands and beaches we saw. He was very kind, knowledgeable, and highly skilled at sailing. We felt completely at ease on the Cimarron and will definitely look into a trip to Jost next year!
