O.K., so this review is for snorkelers not for sunbathers. Getting to the beach at Leinster Bay requires a easy and beautiful hike along the rocky shore. The beach itself is very thin and most of it is in the shade all day. If you are a sunbather, you will be disappointed.
However, the snorkeling is fantastic. (have a look at my photos) As soon as you plop your face in the water, you are going to see fish. As you progress to the left side of the bay, you will see dinner plate sized starfish, coral, turtles (we saw two) and an amazing variety of fish.
There are no facilities so be prepared. For a snorkler/hiker a great day would be to arrive in the morning and park near the Annaberg sugar Plantation ruins. Enjoy a very scenic hike through the ruins. Then, grab your fins and head for Leinster bay! Finally, when you are finished snorkeling and ready for some sun, head back over Francis Bay (short drive) and swim until the sun sets! Mmmm...
