“The trek out is worth it”

Little Lameshur is lovely. You need a jeep to get there, but once you are there it's quiet and feels like a special treat. Entry into water is rocky and there were many sea urchins in the snorkeling area so maybe not the best for little kids, but our 12 and 13 year olds had a fine time. This was the best beach we went to for shelling if your kids enjoy that.

“It's a bit of a car hike”
Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

If you have good clearance, this is a great little beach. Snorkel out along the eastern side of the bay. The snorkeling out near the end of the bay is really great. Take it slow on the road coming in, some of the potholes are quite large. Pay attention to the spare tire on your jeep, you may find little yellow warblers perched there on the ride in. We also saw plenty of whitetail deer along the jeep trail.

Nice beach and okay snorkeling. There are better and much more accessible beaches/snorkel spots on the island if that's why you are interested in Little Lameshur. Try Hawksnest Bay, Maho Bay, or Waterlemon Cay for snorkeling, or Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay (if it doesn't smell like sewage that day- warning the island waste treatment plant is next door), or Francis Bay for beach-going.

“My favorite”
Reviewed 28 March 2014

The drive to Lameshur Bay is a bit rough but it is truly worth it. It has become more popular over the years with more and more people discovering it's beauty and solitude. Snorkeling is good most of the time and the walk from your car to the beach is very easy. There are a few hiking trails around this area if you get tired of sitting on the beach.

“Excellent snorkeling”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

One of the best areas for snorkeling. Turtles, rays, barracudas and beautiful fish! And the beach is soft sand with plenty of room for sunning, trees for shade, picnic tables & bathroom facilities. We love this beach - definitely one of our favorites!
