Living in the UK has given great access to the Greek Islands for holidays over the years, and I guess that you become spoiled.

One of the delicacies I was introduced to was the infamous Gyros, a fried Greek pitta bread with spices and with salad, tzatziki, french fries and marinated hand carved kebab style meat.

I have never had a successful Gyros outside of Greece until now, the one on this menu was fantastic and tasting as authentic as ever.

A little more expensive than what you pay in Greece, but well worth the money, especially after not having one for such a long time. You never forget that taste!

The prices were not too bad either. Three meals, two beers and a soda was $72 including service charge.

Well worth a visit to either rekindle old memories if you have been to Greece before, or even just to try something new,

I have eaten here many, many times over the years. What can I say other than fantastic Greek and Bahamian food. Flaming Saganaki is off the chain... service is spot on, location and view of downtown unbeatable. Family run since it opened by Greek Bahamians, this is must do if you like Mediterranean food.

We stumbled on Athena Cafe while doing a mini "bar crawl" several years ago in Nassau. We got to meet the Owner and his son who is married to a former Miss Bahamas. Mr. "Oupa" was very nice and treated us to some authentic Greek shots of something that almost made us miss our ship. lol The next time we were in Nassau, we visited again and they remembered us from the previous year. Mr. "Oupa" passed away a few weeks ago which is very sad. I hear it is being run by his brother now. I would highly reccomend visiting this place off the beaten path.
