I had heard about this gallery after seeing some of John cox's (a local Bahamian artist) work at the National Art Gallery in Nassau. the gallery is a short walk from the Adastra Zoo and is housed in a beautiful old Bahamian House. It was owned by John cox's grandfather and is a tranquil spot away from the local traffic. The gallery has various rotating shows as well as some studios upstairs rented by various artists. It was interesting to see the exhibition there and we also got to meet the artist, which added to the great experience. Having been to various galleries elsewhere in the world, I liked the friendly attitude of all I met there. They are passionate about their art and getting it out onto a larger stage. There is a small shop opening in 2009 and judging by the dcor done so far, it should be an exciting space. Definitely worth a visit and an added bonus on a great holiday!
