“It's just stone steps!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014

I read reviews about great views, amazing waterfall etc. so I was really looking forward to this. What a let down.
We arrived and parked, not easy as there were a dozen or more mini buses and very little space.
At the top there are a number of little booths all selling the usual t-shirts, straw bags, key rings etc., at the bottom just a couple of fruit sellers - one of them really has the gift of the gab and was the best entertainment there.
The fort costs a $ per person so not a major investment. There is a guide who reels off a few facts with little enthusiasm and less personality. The view is nothing special, actually it's rubbish. You get a far better view of Atlantis from outside the fort.
The steps are just that, a way of getting from top to bottom, there is a sheer rock face either side with some greenery and a trickle of water.
If you have nothing else to do by all means stop by for thirty mins but don't make a special trip.

Amazing both in its history and the accomplishment itself. To think such a creation was carved out of rock is amazing by itself. As you learn more of its history, you become even more awestruck.

“Queens Staircase”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

Very interesting staircase however there is very little information about it, at the actual site. Climb the steps and walk around the corner to Fort Fincastle. Its $1 to get in but the guide is good and the pictures are well worth the $1.

“Beautiful! Loved learning about its history.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

We had a seriously rainy day during our Bahamas stay, and decided to do some historical sightseeing. It was really fun and a bit romantic making the trek from downtown, up the hill to the Queen's staircase, and finally up the stairs to Fort Fincastle. The history of the staircase is pretty unbelievable. It is really quite a sight, too, it's beautiful. Worth the walk from downtown!
