“Great location”
Reviewed 7 February 2014

Pros: great food even at the buffet! Martinos was good. I dont think The garden of Eden gets enough credit, we ate there twice! The service and everything they brought to the table was excellent. The games on the beach and the entertainment at night was fun! The ocean view from our room and the lobby room was beautiful!! The #10 Bus (directly outside of the resort) comes often if you want to take a ride into downtown for $1.25!

Cons: the "bartenders" or drink pourers were not very friendly. I was really disappointed in the Bahama mama, it's usually my favorite drink but It was premade in a jug, it was warm so the ice melted fast. I'm really not too picky but I just wanted a good drink in the Bahamas! The rum punch was a little better but not much. The kalik (sp?) beer was actually pretty good but when they use the reusable plastic cups it was awful! the throw away plastic was much better. The maids forgot to give us fresh towels twice during our 5 day stay. I don't get annoyed easily but after being in the sun/beach/pool all day I wanted to get back to my room and shower. Lots of bees by the pool bar and lots of seagulls trying to steal your food (I cant blame the hotel for that..it happens). It's a little hard to relax on the beach with the women trying to braid your hair and sell things I just politely said "no thank you" and they walked away. The guys trying to get you to jetski and snorkel were more pushy. I tried to stay away from them haha.

Overall great vacation for the price with a beautiful view. I got a really good rum punch at a restaurant downtown :)

Dear Bethel20555,
Thank you for sharing your observations on Breezes Bahamas. We are pleased that you
found our culinary fare to your liking in addition to our activities and accommodation. The
comments relating to our beverage team are a marked departure from the norm. Our feedback
on the beverage service at our bars is generally exceptional. The engaging personalities
and ability to recognize guests standout as positives for this team.Despite the foregoing
your concern has been shared with the entire team. Our mission is to ensure that all of our
clients are pleased with service delivery.
We can advise that we have just reorganized our pool beverage facilty. We have
repositioned our soda dispenser and this has resulted in the virtual elimination of bees.
We have been able to cross reference your visit with a short term challenge we encountered
with our linen service. This opportunity has been since been rectified.
We are grateful for your feedback..

We have stayed at Breezes many times over the years and enjoyed our time there. It is not a large, luxurious 5 star resort and if that is your expectation you will be disappointed. The rooms are adequate and were kept very clean by the housekeeping staff. The buffet dining room is undergoing renovations which seems to be done during the night. It is still a bit of work in progress. The food was very good with lots of variety and certainly something to appeal to everyone. On a few occasions there were numerous tables available but none had been cleared and cleaned. It is unclear if the guests are to seat themselves or wait for a staff member to acknowledge them and prepare a table for them.
Pool - always seemed a little dirty although I saw them clean it every morning. There were not many people in the pool and it can be cool as it is not heated. Hot tub - YUCK. After seeing numerous people crammed in there shoulder to shoulder I can't imagine going into that water. The lure of sitting in warm water with strangers just does not appeal to me but it was a busy spot for late afternoon cocktails.
Pool bar. Great - with very friendly and quick service. Special mention to Michelle who does a great job as well as Letitia, Angela and Carrie Anne.
Beach fantastic!!!! This is where we spent our days. Seaweed is raked early in the morning. There was no shortage of places to sit or lie and enjoy the sun and water. One note - there were a group men who walked up and down the beach and continually tried to gain access to the resort. They were not guests and were not even dressed appropriately for the beach. Security was quick to send them off the resort but they would return. I would not leave anything unattended while they were around. They could be workers at the hotel being built next door but it was odd that they kept returning after being told to leave. This happened on a daily basis.
I will return to this hotel and I think if you are happy with a clean room to sleep in, good food, nice drinks and do not expect luxury or lots of entertainment this resort fits the bill.

We went to the Bahamas in July 2013 for four nights and had an amazing time. We literally booked the trip a week before we flew down. After reading the great reviews on Trip Advisor and finding a deal for only $1800 for myself and my husband, we decided to give it a try. This is not a 5 star or luxury hotel by any means, but it's great value for your money. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were modern. We had to wait two hours before we could check-in because our flight had arrived earlier, so we left our luggage in lobby, had some drinks and walked around the pool area so it was fine.

The resort itself is old but it was totally Bahamian style and had a laid-back atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, and did not ask for tips whatsoever. The Beach side grill was great, we ate there every day for lunch. The buffet was excellent, we enjoyed all of the different varieties of food they had every day so no complaints there. They had two restaurants, the Garden of Eden which you have to reserve a day in advance and the food was really good, and Martino's, an Italian restaurant with amazing food!

The entertainment at night time was great. There was live singing and performances and a fire dancer which were both great. They also had poolside entertainment and music playing throughout the day which made it more fun to sit by the pool or beach. We took also took day trip to the city by taking the local bus. It's safe to explore during the day time so we had no issues.

The only thing I noticed was that there was quite a bit of seaweed on one side of the water and also the beach chairs got taken pretty fast and people would keep their towels on them for hours at a time and leave. This is no fault of the resort though, just people being selfish.

I definitely recommend Breezes if you are on a tight budget and can look past superficial aspects which are so easy to expect as North Americans. The Bahama's is not a wealthy country by any means and their people are overworked and trying to make ends meet and yet they still have a smile on their faces.

The beaches are stunning so why bother spending extra money in a room to sleep in when you can be outside enjoying the beach, the activities and excursions and take a trip to Atlantis?

Room Tip: Request a room on the second or third floor as they are quieter. Ask for a room with a view of the p...

My wife and I stayed at Breezes just after Christmas and I have to say it was the worst resort we have ever stayed at! I have no idea where these positive reviews are coming from- as I can honestly say that apart from the check in staff and a few security staff- there was nothing that was remotely within the realm of acceptable. The pool was filthy, the room had mold issues and the food was mediocre. People came and "hung out" with pool staff- not what you expect of a banded resort. If coming to Nassau stay at the Riu- we did on our last trip and only changed to try out a different experience- what a huge mistake! The Riu is right next to Atlantis and although not a 5 star as they advertise, it is a nice resort and with Atlantis right next door there are a lot of entertainment options. .

Room Tip: Stay at the Riu!

I stayed at the resort from Jan. 19 - 26 and I my girlfriend and I had a great time.

Check in - it was pretty quick and the front desk lady was polite and explained the deposit structure and so forth. We arrived at midnight so it was not that busy

Room - as stated before, yes they are some what on the less modern side BUT the bed was very comfy and the room was spotless after the maids cleaned it. All the bathrooms have been redone and had a nice stand up shower with a bench and lots of sink area. You get a lot of TV channels (HBO, ESPN) but we really just stayed in our room to sleep and that was it.

Staff - in the dining area we noticed that it took a while for staff to bring us drinks or utensils but once i placed money on the table for a tip they came much quicker. Like every resort worker, money influences behavior. Same applies to the bar staff, once i gave them ten dollars at the beginning of the week they always took my order first ahead of others. Otherwise, all were very friendly to us and helped with whatever we needed

Food and Drink - i was really impressed by the food and the selection was great. The food was fresh and even the pickiest of eaters could find something they like. The alcohol selection was good and they made the drinks as strong as you wanted. The A la carte was great, loved the Italian one.

Resort Entertainment - we were not really basing our resort on the entertainment, but it was cute and kind of cheesy. they had a casino night which was fun with some poker and blackjack tables for fake money of course.

Beach - water was clear and blue. sand was white and soft. Be warned you will see some sea life swimming near you like manta rays and angelfish (which I loved). There are peddlers on the beach, but if you ignore them they ignore you. I can rate the weather because the resort has no control over that obviously.

Location - the resort is on Cable Beach and the bus stop is right in front of resort. It costs $1.25 to take it to the downtown area and is so worth it. Lots of shops and check out the straw market and fish market.

All and all, great trip and if you can, take the day trip to Atlantis. So worth it!!

My husband and I just returned from a 15 day stay and we are happy to give this resort a positive review. We felt we received good value for our money. The service was good. Staff consistently greeted us with a smile and a friendly comment. They worked tirelessly to provide the activities and experiences outlined in the resort brochure. They took great pride in being employed by Breezes and were quick to share information about their island. The rooms are fine but we missed not having a balcony. The main reason to stay here is for the beach - it is generally calm and clear with great sand for taking walks on.Great location for having both sun and shade and lots of activities! The food is very, very good. Our favorites were fish and chips on the beach, amazing fresh salads and Martinos Restaurant. We dined there 12 nights and never had problems getting reservations. A very big thank you to the staff and Niecy who always remembered our drink orders! Favorite activities were kayaking ( you'll see star fish, sea turtles and sting rays),dancing to Funky D and the Summer Breezes band in the evenings, singing with Dwight in the Piano Bar, playing Poker with Em-Jay and taking an historical nature walk with Rico. Many thanks to all for a great holiday!
