“BC Hilton, Nassau #1 Rating”
Reviewed 2 May 2012

My friend and I spent one night at the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau and truly wish we had stayed longer. This was a brief layover on our way to Cape Eleuthera. The property was beautiful! Lush green and well manicured gardens, beautiful flowers.......The view of the harbor from our hotel room (#501) was breathtaking. The room was gorgeous too. The beach and bar were great as well. The hospitality and professionalism of the entire staff.....awesome!! Thanks to the following staff members who made our trip one of the best on the island. Patrice, who checked us in, as well as Shawn and Samantha. Thanks to the bellman who was kind enough to get our bags to our room. I greatly appreciated the delivery of our preordered beverages. As a Hilton Honors member, the executive lounge ranked high for me and my guest. Most importantly, I rate the quality of service, cleanliness of the room, friendliness, and the facility #1. Thanks to the bartender for making a delicious strawberry daiquiri. It was much needed after a few hours at the airport. A former policeman was kind enough to escort us across the street to McDonald's for breakfast. We were fearful that we would be ticketed for "jaywalking." He assured us that it would not happen in Nassau. What a delightful touch of Bahamian hospitality as well nice "eye candy" too. He was the perfect gentleman. We took a brief stroll through the straw market and enjoyed seeing all of the items on display. On my next trip....and there will be a next trip very soon, I will definitely stay longer . And many thanks to Kirkwood Curry, our taxi driver and tour guide. The oral history of the island and its attractions were greatly appreciated. We will be calling upon your services again!!

We managed to experience the quality of the Hotel and staff as we had four days of non-stop rain. All of the employees were quick to fulfill any of our requests in a timely manner. I have to state that we did not find any of the common area's excessively loud. Bullion's was very nice and did have a elegant "sports bar" feel. The lobby is expansive and quite beautiful. I strongly suggest staying on the executive level if you can. The use of the executive lounge and the view of the harbor from these rooms is a definite "must". Be forewarned that you may be hit with a "energy" surcharge of $10.00 per night. I saw this charge even though it was cool enough to leave our windows open the entire stay. Perhaps the energy is that required to close the window. Overall an excellent stay and would stay again.

Room Tip: Markets are nearby and the private beach is well groomed. Stay on upper floors. Room 704 is an outst...

First of I want to thank them for treating me so nicely. As a Hilton Diamond Member I was upgraded to the Prime Minister Suite. This is the suite where Prince Charles, the prime minister of bahamas, etc stayed when in town for official business. We had an amazing living room with about 160 degree views of the harbor and the lagoon in front of the hotel inlcuding the private beach. We had a nice Bahamian rum cake waiting for us when we got to the room.

The pool was very good with a nice bar. The best part was the loungers and open style cabanas which were sprinkled around the pool and open areas for everybody to relax. The first day was great for us but the second day was a little spoiled because of rain.

The concierge especially Tristan and Maria were great in providing us with the right information.

Executive lounge was great and the breakfast in the restaurant was very impressive. We loved the hot muffins coming from the kitchen which was so fresh and tasty.

Overall an amazing stay and a great place to tour the downtown area like the zoo, gardens, arawak cay, pirate museum, straw market and the shopping. Shopping was the same price that you find in any duty free shop in a US airport while travelling internationally. We did visit the atlantis and found it to be a huge, beautiful resort with lots of things to do although expensive. The beach is much more beautiful at the Atlantis though.

But hotel wise this hotel is amazing especially because of the all the service details and customer care.

Room Tip: Request for an ocean view in the higher floor and if you can one of the two prime minister suites.

The bar is noisy and freezing, the restaurant is noisy and cold, the lobby is deafening. In keeping with the rest of Nassau, they blast 4 TV's in the bar, the volume on the TV's near the computers to check your flight is unreal, the lobby has no TVs but the marble makes it so loud you can't think. Nassau is a relentlessly noisy place; the Hilton is in keeping with the noisy tradition. It is all their choice; the rooms are well insulated and the only thing you hear are the Booze and Cruise ships that blast music and the drunken passengers yell for fun. the rooms are nice and clean, the staff is friendly. But my lingering memory will be of noise, assaulting me anywhere i go.

Room Tip: ocean facing room is pretty, and you are only bothered by the Booze and Cruise trips, which anyone o...

We recently spend a 4 day trip in Nassau and stayed at the Hilton. The property was very nice. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff were great and the location was perfect as we could walk to downtown. The beach area was great and the staff really do take extra care of you. Food was ok, but close to lots of restaurants so lots of options if you don’t want to eat at the hotel.

This was a family vacation with a 12 year old.
Location:This hotel is downtown and right in the middle of everything. It is an easy walk to the straw market, Senor Frogs, as well as high end shops.
We were also able to walk a little further to some restaurants featuring more local food-such as the Fish Fry and Twin Brothers. What you can't walk to, is an easy taxi ride and the fare is reasonable. You can take a taxi or ferry ($6) over to Atlantis bahamas resort right across the bay. Cost in April for the day was $135 adults and less for kids.

Hotel: Lovely Hotel with expansive Lobby, fantastic breakfast bar, both continental and hot, inclusing made to order omelets. gift shop, small business center, and beautiful grounds. The Bullion bar was lovely. we used the poolside bar as well.
Our room was large (281) as it was on the end and included a frig and cofee set up. The bathroom was also a good size, with separate shower and tub. The counter was low and not quite enough space to put many items. The shower was large and although they said it was renovated, the shower door was at an angle and did not close well. We reported a broken clock and burned out light above the bed day 1 and that was never fixed. We heard a man stating he had a celing leak and room had to be changed. Overall however, very nice stay with comfortable bed, nice furnishings and sometimes things happen-the hotel is 100 years old! Partial water view and great view of the grounds.
There were canopied beds on the grounds and on raised platforms on the beach-too cool. Some of the beach lounges need to have the shade canopy repaired.
The beach was small but private, and although there were cruise ships parked close they didn't really have an effect on our stay.
They had a kayak out for public use and the kids loved it. There was snorkeling gear available at no charge as well. The beach is in a bay so the water was calm.
Business: Don't plan on being able to do business easily internet available but I found the connection spotty everywhere but in lobby.
Be aware that gratuities are automatically added to every check and that you will have housekeeping gratuities and energy surcharges attached to your final bill as well.
Activities- We went to the Blue Lagoon Dolphin encounter and I would recommend that for a number of reasons. First, the Dolphins are so sweet and amazing. Appropriate for most-I wouldn't take a very young child because they may be fearful. The water on the platform was just below my waist so it may be too deep for young kids as well. You also get a day on their beach and it was so relaxing. Hammocks in the shade-aquaventure slides etc for additional fee, nice beach, kayaks and snorkeling for additional fee as well. If you don't want to do the Dolphins you can just purchase the beach trip and relax while the others do the Dolphin thing.
Food and drink sold.
Overall wonderful trip, nice hotel, and numerous activities to choose from. Friendly staff and truly the people we met were all friendly and kind.

Room Tip: try to get executive floor room-the lounge snacks and drinks are worth it plus games for kids.End ro...
