We often stay a hilton hotels but this one wasn't the best experience. It is a nice hotel and ideally situated. The beach and the pool are outstanding. Unfortunately the hotel hits you with a surprise 34 dollar a night energy fee when you check in. Not a huge amount but just be honest and include it in the rate up front. There was no shuttle from the airport so you have to pay an additional 50-60 dollars each way. The restaurant Aqua wasn't very good either. The snapper tasted like grouper and I'm certain it wasn't snapper. The second indicator was that it wasn't cooked with the skin and didn't have the reddish color. Then when we ate breakfast using the voucher from the executive lounge we were informed that it did not include the hot items from the buffet. For this great luxury we would have to pay an additional 6.95 per person. Finally the room was an executive king room with a harbor view. The room was very small, just big enough to fit a bed in. The view was partially obscured by the adjacent wing of the hotel. This is a small detail but the toilet paper was cheap and stiff. The hotel bar also made a drink incorrectly and it tasted disgusting. you come to expect more from a hilton but this one was disappointing. Stay at the Graycliff and spare yourself the "hilton experience"

This was my fourth stay for business, and the renovations have improved what was an already pleasant place to stay. The pool area and grounds are lovely. Very convenient location close to dining and shopping options.

Overall they do their best to help and in general staff are exceptional except for room service which was a bit erratic. The consumption of takeaway food in public areas is a real problem especially as a number of the culprits are non resident and come in to use the business computers to scan Facebook accounts etc.

Our business center is for the use of our hotel guests only. Anyone found using the computers who are not registered guests are asked to leave the area.

With reference to the consumption of food not purchased from the hotel, guests are not allowed to eat it in public areas, however, you can take it to your room.

We recently stayed at the Hilton Nassau Bahamas for 3 nights. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member and was a bit surprised to have a slight issue during check in, but once we were set in our rooms, the balance of the time was great.

The back of the hotel (pool, beach and bar areas) are adjacent to the harbor and port where the cruise ships pull in. It was truly majestic to be chilling out on the beach with a 1,100 foot cruise ship pulling in right in front of us.

The rooms were above my expectations for an Island hotel. They were kept up nicely, not overly spacious, but decent.

Travelers note - the room taxes, surcharges and mandatory $10 per day housekeeping gratuity comes out to roughly $70 on top of the room rate.

I would definitely return to this hotel though. We had a good time.

I recently came back from a 4 day 3 night stay in Nassau with my boyfriend. We are a 30 something well traveled couple. We booked the Colonial Hilton in our package as the hotel of choice. I was satisfied with our stay, as far as pros go the biggest for me was the location. The hotel is actually in downtown so you are near all the shops, and the ambiance of Nassau. We were lucky enough to be there for the Bahamas Independence celebrations. You are near McDonalds, Dunkin Doughnuts, Liquor stores etc. Even though the property is in downtown there is still a nice private beach. You are also in walking distance of the Fish Fry (area of eateries) and a public beach. Be clear that the beach at the hotel is not massive by any means! The cruise ships port not to far from the hotel as well. The service was hot or miss, when we arrived way before our 4pm check in (10am) time and they accommodated us as quickly as possible by getting our room ready by noon. However it seemed like when we were pool side there was no hurry to serve us. The rooms were decent and we got a harbor view, the view was great but there are no balconies, instead a small window that opens up. Decent fitness center as well. There are fees and taxes added to the daily rate, so be clear about that I believe it was $17 a day per person. I felt that the rate we got was a good deal. We are pretty laid back so a clean room, good view and no major issues are usually good for me. Overall it was a decent stay, I wouldn't recommend this if you are expecting a resort type atmosphere.

Room Tip: Check out the Fish Fry for great and inexpensive food. Also bring cash many places in the Bahamas d...

The hotel is nice and retro looking and the staff were extremely nice and helpfull. We stayed for 2 nights but chose not to eat at the hotel as it was quite expensive for what was on offer. The room was a nice size and we were told we were given a water view room, it was only a water view if you squinted through the trees or it rained. The "beach" was a let down as the photos on the website make it look alot bigger than it really is and it gets filled up by cruise ship passengers and hotel guests get no equipment to use as the cruise people crowd it all. Overall we did enjoy our stay but the hotel should focus more on patrons who payed the big money to sleep there instead of obnoxious cruise passengers paying alot less just to use the beach.
