“Just okay”
Reviewed 16 January 2012

Staff was very nice and helpful. Only 9 holes for the time until it is totally redone. $75 special price and course is in so-so shape! Nice getaway from the casino! If you have to go play-go for it...

“Very few options”
Reviewed 11 January 2012

As noted in an earlier review this is not a championship golf course and if you're walking off the street the cost is $130 including cart for 18 holes which is actually nine holes played twice or $90 for 9 holes. We've played recently in Hawaii and Palm Springs and both were far superior for a lot less money. The course plays quickly and we were finished in just over 3 hours. The course was not in great shape and the whole course looked a little tired. If you're an average golfer then you need to bring balls. The fairways slope towards the water and the water both drops off sharply and is murky so ball recovery is non existent. Check with the ground's keepers as they may have used golf balls for cheap. It looks like some golfers are coming off the cruise ships to play. Clubs rent for $30. The women's clubs include hybrids but the men's clubs don't. Even the clubs are looking a little old and the stock in the pro shop seems limited. Our title is "Very Few Options" since both the South Ocean Beach Golf Course and Blue Shark are closed and it looks like will be closed for a while and perhaps forever. It was frustrating since when you called both of these courses the phone just rang busy. You could try Adelaide Golf and Country Club on the south west corner of the island but if you are not a member or playing with an member it will cost you over $1000. It's probably a championship course but way out of our league for an afternoon of fun. There are a couple more options but you need to be staying at the resort and golf course.

“Less than average golf club”
Reviewed 20 February 2011

My husband played here in March 2010 with a friend and I could not believe that I was charged $40 to walk round the course with him! We travel all around the World and never before have I been charged to "walk the course". My husband found the course was in poor condition, grossly overpriced and pro shop was distinctly lacking in stock. He asked for a pitch repairer as he likes to collect them from different golf courses and was told they did not have any. In fact a man who was waiting to play offered him a plastic one!

Did not stay at the hotel. This is ONLY RE the Cable Beach Golf Course....

This course was in absolute HORRIBLE condition in May 2010. Only 9 holes are open while (hopefully) restoration takes place. Greens are unputtable - a mix of long irregular grass length and large sand patches.

Yet they continue to charge full rates for the chore of slogging around the same raggy loop twice.

Until and unless this reopens with full restoration, stay away.
