My wife and I just spent a week at Sandyport and liked it very much. It is a bus ride removed from downtown Nassau so it it isn't all hustle around town. If you are looking for a high volume night life , this is not the place nor would I call it overly kid friendly. It provides for activities including snorkeling, bus tour around the island, deep sea fishing, sunset cruise, and evening BBQ. It is a timeshare property with no sales pitch! It is a SILVER so don't expect it to be a gold one. It does a little updating of furniture but the staff is very friendly and my compliments go out to Sarah, Big Al, Judson and Cleveland the bar chef who makes breakfast and dinner. There is no menu, you just tell him in the morning what you want for dinner and he gets the food. One night we changed dinner plans and he left during the evening and went to get us dinner and also another couple. The staff as I said was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed this resort very much. Our room was right on the marina beach with a patio and just steps to the pool and office. Other reviews complained about the Wi-Fi but there are two computers in the resort lobby for use. We would return to this resort.

I have been visiting Sandyport since 1995 when it originally opened and my family and I just love it. It is in a wonderful location..quiet and private and yet close enough to Cable Beach and Downtown to visit them frequently. The Baha Mar resort will soon be close by and should be a fabulous place to visit.
The Sandyport resort is part of a larger complex with restaurants and stores. Hopefully the Beach Club restaurant will reopen, it has a beautiful location right on the beach. The pool is great, very large and rarely crowded.
I highly recommend Sandyport Beaches if you want a relaxing, fun vacation in the Bahamas!

Room Tip: I think the best rooms are the ones overlooking the canal...great views!!

This is a very nice resort near the airport. They were able to combine two rooms to make a suite for my large family. Our room was clean with a nice view of water canal. There was a laundry room if you need to do your laundry. Two computers with free internet in the lobby for you to use. Staff was friendly.

However, I dock 1 start from rating because between 11pm and 7am, there was no one there to help you except for two security guards. Our daughters' flight was delayed so they missed their connection flight to Bahamas. The instruction booklet in the room had wrong information so we had no way to make international phone call. The security guards couldn't help much. After a couple of failed attempts, we were able to call US from our cell phones. You're pretty much on your own between 11pm and 7am if there is an emergency.

Sandyport is an interesting hotel. There are no in house dining facilities, but within the 'resort' there is a restaurant, sports bar, pub and cafe. The setting is attractive with canals running throughout the resort, and the beach is fantastic and not at all busy.

The rooms are adequate, but quite basic and not especially large. However, this resort is excellent value for Nassau. The location is a 15-20 minute bus ride to downtown Nassau. The buses are very cheap and frequent, but do finish at about 7pm which can make getting home a challenge.

Staff at Sandyport were fantastic. Always very friendly and accommodating. There is no free wifi - there is a paid service but connectivity was very difficult. He restaurant, bar and cafe all have free wifi.

The restaurant and sports bar are highly recommended. The pub was quite dingy, and the cafe was very limited. As this was the only place open for breakfast, that is a big downside.

Would recommend This for someone seeking cheap but clean accommodation in Nassau.

Very secluded, nice quiet tranquil resort, helpful front desk agents (thank you Sharon Cameron and Naomi). While there we did notice extensive work and upgrades going on which we look forward to returning to see and experience the end result because the resort is already beautiful
We love sandyport always fun and relaxing.

My Family and I had a fabulous time in at Sandyport Beaches Resort. It was perfect vacation because my children were to go to the pool every day. It was not over crowded which was nice because our son who is autistic could enjoy the pool and not be afraid that there were too many people. The grounds were well kept and the staff was more than accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable the air conditioning was perfect.

We have been staying at Sandyport for years and find it very relaxing. The people are great...very friendly and some have become friends for life. The units are comfortable and clean
and are beach inspired.
Good beach...close to all attractions and restaurants and a convenient grocery store close by
Keep up the good work.
ps we rode out Hurricane Sandy last year and everybody was very helpful and accommodating
as we chose to stay on property and not go to a bigger resort.

Room Tip: Old section by the pool and laundry
