Great place, loved the menu! Very good execution of the dishes and authentic Italian cuisine. When in town definitely go there.

Our family has had the privilege of dining at Cafe Matisse for over 25 years. Whenever we travel to Nassau, we eat here at least once or twice and have never been disappointed no matter what we ordered. We were surprised and sad to learn...that the owner of 27 years will be retiring and closing the restaurant around August 26. It is very difficult to find a restaurant that is perfection from the cuisine, cocktails, wait staff and the gracious owner. Thank you for many happy memories of dining at Cafe Matisse.More
This has been our favorite “last night in Nassau” go to for over 30 years. We also have at least one lunch here as well. The menu is creative and has great variety. The wait staff is impeccable. Prompt and always there when you need...them to satisfy your slightest whim. We have never been disappointed. We just heard this gem will be permanently closing this summer! We and many others are devastated. Please! Someone! Buy this icon and continue its legacy. There is a very loyal clientele, gourmet chefs and perfectly trained waitstaff. Don’t let this irreplaceable restaurant die. What a terrible shame that would be.More
Fabulous food, great service in a quaint environment. I had the proscuitto and melon appetizer and the veal in cream sauce. Everything was delicious. Definitely make a reservation
Great food, great venue, great service. Make sure you sit outside where the osso bucco was off the charts good- a little pricey but not as bad as baha mar
Great atmosphere, service and food. Octopus salad and guava panna cotta was especially good. We went early, 6pm, and beat the dinner crowd.
Absolutely loved it here ! We had a celebratory 39th wedding anniversary dinner. I wish we came here the next day instead of The Greycliff, which was horrible. I had a spinach gnocchi and they were so light and fluffy in a cream sauce with...walnuts. Beautiful Pinot Grigio. My husband had a fish dish which he loved. The waitstaff is so friendly and welcoming. Constantly attentive. Music is fab! We love everything about this place. Would definitely come again… over and over again. Highly recommend itMore
This place was amazing! The lobster pasta was to die for! The atmosphere was super relaxed and it was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
Mathys is surfing the wave of high popularity for service, food and surroundings. Unfortunately, our last visit was welcomed by a cold and borderline arrogant attendant until he recognized a valued returning customer and apologized profusely. Portions are ridiculously small (The ravioli plate will grace...you with 6 raviolis). When asked how I found the octopus salad, I had to say “by accident, under a small leaf”. We had to as three times to get an extra piece of bread, which was stale. Food was nevertheless good, but nothing to rave about. In two words, when the Boss is away, expect downgraded service and average food. But one thing remains constant: highly overcharged for what it’s worth.More
Excellent restaurant with great food, atmosphere and service was spot on! We truly enjoyed our dinner last night! True Italian food.
Delicious meal, incredible service, beautiful decor. I recommend a reservation. We didn't have one, but we're fortunate that they could fit is in that evening. We were able to dine outside on the patio - absolutely perfect.
We ate here at the suggestion of our driver. It was the best meal we had during our stay. Far surpassed anything at Atlantis. Excellent appetizer, entree, dessert, and coffee. Service was outstanding.
4.5 stars. Matisse is consistently one of the best dinner choices in Nassau. Greg is a terrific host. The food is Island inspired with an Italian touch. The patio is beautiful on those warm Bahamian nights, and the service will not disappoint. Great wine list...and excellent bartenders.More
This restaurant is hidden in Nassau. As soon as you go outside to the dining area, it’s as if you are in an intimate outdoor cafe in Italy. The waiters were fabulous as well as the food. The owner visits each table and it’s as...if you are his personal guest. It was my husband’s birthday and they came out at the end, several waiters, steel drums and sang to him. It was a great end to our trip!More
Delicious food! We had a reservation and got there slightly early but were seated right away. Good food and service. Had stone crabs, and entrees ordered were the lobster pasta and first time trying hogfish. Had a delicious mousse cake for dessert. A good last...dinner in Nassau! Walked there from the Margaritaville hotel and it was an easy walk but at night all the shops on the way are closed. A good spot to get a nice dinner!More
