This was actually our second visit in a month to Nassau, and our last trip was our first visit to Crabs and Ting was our lovely hostess Sue.
We headed over to Junkanoo Beach on our last trip, with the idea of going to one of the other beach shacks.... let me explain, along Junkanoo Beach, near the street are a row of shacks where enterprising locals serve food and drink. Some also rent out beach chairs, tables and umbrellas. The place my husband read about (which is highly rated) was not only crowded, but very loud. It is certain to attract people who enjoy a noisy outdoor bar, but that is not really our scene (plus that place charges rent for their chairs) We walked further down the street and met up with Sue, who owns and operates CRABS and TING. She was very friendly and invited us to her area. For the price of a couple of drinks, she includes beach chairs and umbrellas. She was very charming and her area was relatively peaceful (even when crowded) so grabbed a couple of chairs and spent some relaxing time on the beach.
We were on a different cruise 3 weeks later, with more family members and headed straight for Crabs and Ting and Sue recognized us and greeted us with hugs like we were old friends.
The beach chairs and umbrellas are in good condition and the service is fantastic. They are very friendly, and keep the beer good and cold.
Sitting on the beach you get a great view of the cruise ships lined up in port, and the water is very clear. The beach is somewhat rocky with a lot of shells, so plan on wearing your water shoes.
We will definitely visit Sue at Crabs and Ting everytime we return to Nassau.
