Magic!

First time at The Ocean Club and I think that finally we have found our favourite place on the entire Bahamas islands. This property is amazing and is located on one of the most amazing beaches I've ever seen in my life. The staff is very kind and professional, rooms are great, beds super cozy and the quality of the breakfast is outstanding. We supposed to go there and visit other local places and beaches but once you arrive at the Four Seasons you realize that there is no a better place to spend your vacation. We will be back very soon! Thanks to the GM Mr. Conway and to all the great Team starting from Garrill who helped us with our reservation.

Dear angelodale,

Thank you kindly for your glowing review! With so many choices in Nassau and throughout The Bahamas, we're absolutely delighted to read that you'll continue to choose us.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and assist with your stay. Garrill has since transitioned into more of a guest-facing role, so you'll likely see her upon arrival on your next visit.

Wishing you safe travels until you return.

Throughout my travels I've always held the Four Seasons in one of the highest regards/categories of amenities, service, and exclusivity. So one can imagine how excited I was when the One and Only turned over the Ocean Club to the FS. However, I must say with some regret (b/c I love the Four Seasons) that this resort is not up to the standards of the Four Seasons and needs serious improvement.

From the check in delay and multiple concierge/check in staff rotating to tell me what the problem was, to management assuring me that they would provide a great experience when it wasn't, to the restaurant providing me the check after asking for it 4 times, to finally going up to the front desk after the 3rd try to get an iron in the room, I felt like I could get better service at a Marriott in Omaha. On a positive note the butler service, bartenders, and beach/pool staff were outstanding. Overall I really am rooting for this FS to improve the details of how they serve their customers, from check in to responsiveness. It just felt like there was tremendous dis-array happening at this hotel.

Best vacation ever! My husband and I visited the Ocean Club from 6/17-6/23 with our two little boys ages 6 & 4. They say traveling with kids is not a vacation, its "a trip." That could not be farther from the truth. This was a relaxing dream vacation from start to finish. The entire staff was warm and welcoming and so helpful and patient with the kids. We were very lucky to be upgraded to an Ocean front room (1004). We loved the location of our room and of course the view was incredible. Jennifer in housekeeping did an excellent job with our room. Travis, our butler, took care of everything and was so kind with our kids. He helped us with dinner reservation, transportation, making sure we had towels and bags the night before an excursion. Our kids were so excited to see him every evening with milk and cookies. We loved the champagne and strawberries as well. The staff at the beach (Omar and Darren especially) took excellent care of us with towels, chairs, toys for the kids, food and drinks, floats. They learned the boys names and made them feel really special. The beach itself was gorgeous and never felt crowded. We felt so pampered. Everyone on the staff was excellent we honestly never had a negative interaction with anyone. Leading up to our trip Bridgette helped me arrange a fishing trip and dolphin interaction. The property was immaculate!! The guys at the front were so helpful with getting cars and taxis we never waited more than a few minutes. We ate at Dune for dinner twice during our stay. It was expensive but delicious and dining outdoors is great with the kids. Access to Atlantis was great (you have to go to the Royal Tower desk to get your wristbands just fyi it is in their main lobby) My husband and I were so happy with every moment and are hoping to come back for our 10 year anniversary.

I just returned from a trip her with my kids and mom! The resort itself is beautiful!! The water is absolutely breathtaking. We have stayed at many Four Seasons resorts and the service here was below average prior to what we have experienced at other resorts. I am not sure they are really that kid friendly, atleast it didn't feel that way. Some of the staff were awesome and went out of their way to help you. However at other times it was as if you were invisible, then when you would ask for something they were visibly irritated. It was definitely hot, so maybe they were just exhausted, I am not sure. We have been to Punta Mita lots and have loved it.....was hoping for the same experience here. None the less, the grounds are gorgeous, and the beach is great for children. Maybe we just caught them on a bad week:).

Dear Nicole P,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and write out your experience. We're delighted you so enjoyed our Resort and beach. It's disheartening that this was somewhat out-shadowed by what you described as "below average" service. We treat every guest with heartfelt attention and offer the craftsmanship for which Four Seasons is particularly known. That this was not apparent or offered throughout your stay is unfortunate, and we hope you still returned with many positive experiences.

The Bahamas has a storied history with hospitality, and we often hear that the smiles here are the most genuine throughout the Caribbean. On behalf of the team, we do hope that you are able to return and see more of this for yourself.

With kind regards,

We have been going to the Ocean Club for about 12 years. We love it! Sometimes the service is better than others, whether it was the One and Only or Four Seasons. People have to remember this is the Bahamas, not New York . Things move a little slower here and that's a good thing. Everyone needs to just take a breathe and relax!

We used their limo service from airport, which greets you right as you walk out of airport and is excellent. Had an amazing driver on return trip to airport. We got stuck in some traffic and he gave us so much history about the island.

We booked through Amex Fine Hotel and Resorts and got a very nice upgraded room, free breakfast and $100 resort credit. Well worth it!

We were shown to our room by our butler, who was very nice, but have to say never saw him again. But in his defense we didn't call for him either. They did mess up on a dinner reservation for us one night for Wild Thyme. We arrived at the restaurant, where we had a confirmed reservation, to discover the restaurant was closed. Not sure how the mix up occurred, but it's the Bahamas! We could have gotten all upset, but instead asked the taxi driver where we should go instead and he took us to the Poop Deck, which was great. Had a great evening!!!
Went to Wild Thyme the next night and it was great as well!!!

I was trying to write down pros and cons while we were there so here goes.
Pros:
Staff is very nice and works very hard...I applaud their efforts
They had Rainy day activities as it was raining the day we arrived....this is new and very nice...Rum Tasting, Wine and Cheese hour (they should do the Wine and Cheese hour all the time as it brought everyone to the Martini bar for a lively evening)
Beautiful Hermes Amenities in the room, but unfortunately never replaced shampoo and conditioner so ran out.
Great restaurant and bar on site...Dune
Great infinity pool overlooking ocean with restaurant (get conch fritters)
Shuttle to Anywhere on Paradise Island

Cons:
It is showing some wear and tear...while still beautiful needs some updating in Dune and outdoor lounge chairs
Shuttle...while I mentioned as a pro...it is also a con. Waited over 30 minutes for an Ocean Club car from Atlantis. It never came after the transportation people called repeatedly. We ended up taking a regular Atlantis shuttle back. They might need more cars during busy times.
One day the Adult pool area was semi closed...not a problem, but it would have been nice if they had let the guests know. Pool was open, there were no towels, bar service or attendants. People were swimming , but confused as to why no one was there.
Housekeeping came very late. Again the service people work very hard so I understand coming late. But we were out of our room at 9:00am, returned to our room at 3:15 for a nap. Our room didn't have a do not disturb/make up our room sign. Housekeeping came at 4:00pm...woke us up and said if they couldn't come clean room then they were going home. We said turn down service would be fine. Again maybe more people working during the busy time would help.
The resort has great family pool for kids, but everyone seems to want to be at the infinity pool by the ocean. I get it, it's a beautiful location. But there is limited seating. One family with many young children took up 12 chairs, even though there were only 9 of them, including the children that were mostly in the pool. Couples kept showing up to the pool to be sadly turned away. I spoke with a representative of the club who said they are trying to get the young families to the family pool, but to no avail. I think they need to make the infinity pool adults only. It is a small pool and seating area. I would love to see an additional pool built near the infinity for young families with children. They have the space for it.
The Ocean Club is a special place and we will continue to go as it is an easy trip from the NYC area. Sometimes to the service is excellent, sometimes it is just okay...but it's a tropical paradise and the people of the Bahamas are amazing. Looking forward to our next visit!!!
