“Beautiful Quiet Resort”
Reviewed 22 August 2010

We have been to Paradise Island several times and this was the first stay at PIBC. The property is nicely maintained and beautifully landscaped, it is showing it's age a bit. The location of the resort is what really makes the place great. Just a 15 minute walk down the beach from the Atlantis complex, you are on an open, quiet strip of beach. The resort is not large so the beach was never crowded and the staff is quick to set up your beach chairs and umbrellas, or you can enjoy the upper deck and pool if you want to stay out of the sand.
If the beach alone is not your style, wave runners, banana boat rides and parasailing are available a few steps down the beach.
The service at the pool bar/restaurant can be hit or miss, but the food is excellent and prepared to order.
The rooms were very clean and well maintained. The only thing that we were really disappointed in was the quality of the pillows. Staff quickly addressed any maintenance issued we had. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware (and there are bbq grills throughout the property with charcoal sold on site) so if you prefer to stay in for meals you can easily prepare them. Bathrooms have hair dryers, there is an in-room safe and flat screen TVs. The on site mini-mart is well stocked including meats, vegetables and wine/beer/spirits at prices that are equal or less than nearby grocery stores.
We were so impressed with the resort that we sought out the sales person and ended up purchasing a time share week. The resort did not solicit guests for sales or attempt to get you to attend a presentation so there is no pressure if you are not a time share member. If you are interested, you can deal with them on resales from other owners.

Stayed at PIBC for the second straight year -- and once again it was wonderful. Just love the small resort -- no crowds -- spectacular beach -- the grounds are beautifully landscaped. Most of the staff was very helpful and we felt pampered. The only exception was the staff at the Reef Bar and Grill --- the staff were very slow to place orders for food and almost appeared annoyed by our orders which for items on the menu. WIFI went out several days in a row which was a little inconvenient. This aside --- the place is wonderful. They have added a deck to overlook the beach -- flat screen televisions in the villas. Great place!! Will go back again.

If you're looking our a beautiful beach away from the huge crowds of Atlantis then this is the place. Traveled with my wife and 3 children ages 9 11 12. Last week in June. Weather was beatiful, no rain hotter in New York. Staff was great always helpful and courtious. Bargains of the Bahamas- free wifi at the club and Dominos pizza( free delivery same price as in New York) and laundry at the beach club $1 per load. Everyone says how expensive food is but its no more than disney and you can find your bargains. Would probably rent a car next time. Need a taxi for most places. Beach is awesome, kids spent most of the day just snorkling around. Great stay

We just returned yesterday from a week at Paradise Island Beach Club. Wonderful 2 bedroom villas with 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, 3 flat screen televisions, full balcony with a table four chairs and a lounge chair. The very private complex also includes a small grocery store, a wonderful pool side bar and a very reasonably priced (very good food) menu. The staff is amazing, exceedingly accomodating and friendly. Nice little pool which was never crowded with a second little private baby pool. The beach never had more than 10-15 people on it. Long stretches of white beach to walk on.

The bar staff made a great drink and did not skimp on the liquor. Marvin the bartender was the first person we met when we arrived - he was great- within minutes he made us feel welcomed and genuinely happy to meet us - and we liked him too! On his days off, Tammy was the bartender and she was spectacular too with a great smile and also a great drink maker. Being served by them felt more like I was at a family party than at a hotel. Everyone was so friendly from the front desk to the women who kept our room spotless (and changed our sheets everyday without needing to ask). I also want to give a big applause to Etienne who fixed a light in our room - we will be talking about that light and his ability to "tame" electricity for a long time!

Some reviews have mentioned the smell of the water treatment plant - very occasionally we caught a faint smell. On a walk we found that the water treatment plant down by Atlantis had a much stronger and persistant smell.

We have travelled a lot over the last twenty years and this is definitely the most wonderful place that we have stayed. If you are looking for room service and all the bells and whistles of an overpriced hotel then this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a quiet, low key and private get away then PIBC is the place to go. Note: Tip the staff - the added 15% gratuity does not go to them. If you stay in Villa 6 please feed No-Neck-Nick the seagull who sits patiently on the ledge in the morning and then again in the afternoon. He likes bread and Doritoes but not chocolate chip cookies. We will be going back next year. I just wish that we had found this place sooner!

We spent a wonderful week at the Beach Club this past November. It was obvious that alot of work had been done on the landscaping, pool area and in the villas of this resort. Each unit, half of which have ocean/large pool exposure, had two new flat screen televisions and a full well equiped kitchen. The Club is conveniently located on the island, within walking distance to Atlantis and its casino, as well as a wonderful open air restaurant on the harbor side, Columbus Tavern. All in all, a top notch destination!

We just returned from Paradise Island Beach Club. What a gem! The villas are a very comfortable size - two generous sized bedrooms and two bathrooms, full kitchen, flat screen tv's in master and living room! The pools were great - frequented the heated pool for most of the trip. The beach was beautiful but had days of rough waves. Very small resort so you felt like you knew the other vacationers by the end of your week. The staff was very helpful. Martha assisted us with finding local cuisine (Oh Andros) and the food was great.

This resort is a 15 minute walk from the Atlantis and about 5 minutes from the Cloisters (which are absolutely breathtaking at night time).

For US vacationers bring your own food as the price of food in Bahamas is very expensive - we paid $5.95 for a half-gallon of milk!!! We were glad to get back to Publix where milk is only $3.00 for a gallon.

My husband and son went to the Pirate Museum in Nassau. Everyone should experience the Straw Market - quite interesting.
