We went to the Atlantis hotel Oct 30-Nov 2 2003. After reading many reviews for the other hotels we were excited when we booked this hotel as we had heard so many wondeful things about it. We stayed in the beach tower, which was the furthest of the three towers. Although the hotel was beautiful, the Coral Tower or the Royal Tower would have been better located and in the centre of all the facilties. The pool was very clean and there was secuirty everwhere around the hotel. They always check for room keys and provide you with a bracelt with the colour changing daily so that you can by-pass security once you have been checked. When you have the braclet, they don't bother you anymore. The room was pretty standard, nothing that fancy but very clean and well taken care off. The property was amazing. There is lots to do for adults as well as children. The have a whole "Discovery Camp" dedictaed just to the children and they have such things as a movie theatre(free of charge) as well as a daily actitivites list a page long updated everyday. There are such things as games, bingo, discover scuba, movies, comedy shows ect. They have something called "The Dig" which is a tunnel that has many different aquariums with exoctic fish and parts of the underwater city of Atlantis. There are over a dozen different aquariums with different marine life that are displayed so beautifully. All of this is free when you are a guest. They had several waterslides two of which started from a replica Mayan Temple and ended with a drop into a transparent tunnel flowing through a shark tank which gave you an amazing "up close and personal" encounter with these large carnivorous fish. The hotel is very large, so bring your walking shoes or a good supply of bandaids to cover those blisters. Cab rides to town are about $11 USD one way or you can hop the ferry for $6 USD round trip that takes you right to town very close to the "Starw Market" which is the ideal flea market for souvenier shopping.Dinner will be about $40 USD per person no matter where you go within the hotel but has a wide variety of food to choose from. Watch the crab claws at "Watersedge" restaurant, we sampled those and they had gone bad and provided you with quite an odour and a unforgettable stomach ache. The hotel is very large and inpersonal.Overall, the hotel was beautiful and pleanty to do, however the beaches where average but this resort is probobly the best hotel offered in Nassau.

This place is downright amazing, i thought of this as a disneyworld with an aquatic scene. i took about 200 pictures with my digital camera. Everywhere you go there are swimming pools, beaches, and the most amazing aquarium exhibits. We stayed in the beach tower for 5 days, 4 nights in august. We ended up lucking out and got the last room on the highest level, our view was down the entire beach and ocean(GREAT). Prices on food was pretty expensive as well as the drinks. The only way you could get drinks at a few places was by putting it on your room card, so try not to bring cash everywhere. Get to the pool early if want a chair, otherwise you are beat. There were a ton of kids there, so if you want a quiet vacation dont go there during the summer. On the resort they are always taking pictures, so if you need a good family portrait or just a souvenir, its really a good suggestion but it can be expensive. This place always seems to have celebrities as well, when we were there patrick ewing and a few other nba players were there.

Incredible mega resort. Had read countless reviews. Stayed in the Imperial Club, Royal Tower. Next time will stay in the Coral Tower, just because it's in the center of the property and more centrally located. Slides are awesome! They are, however, very strict on height limitation. Must be 48", so my daughter, 46" wasn't allowed on any of the larger slides. For this reason, we stuck to the pools at the beach and coral towers. Plus, we were never told that Seagrapes buffet has special kids' theme nights. Lots of people prefer the extra pampering from the Imperial Club. For the extra money, would not opt for that area again. Long, long, LONG walk. Coral tower definitely centrally located. Aquariums are awesome! Oh, picture people from the hotel walk around and take pictures of you. We had forgotten to go through our pics until the last night. Found out we could order our pics online!
When we were there in summer, there were no all inclusive plans. Not sure if they changed that. Yes, it is pricey, but same as 4 seasons or Ritz. Very good service. Pools do close early, and they're pretty strict on that also. We didn't know about that beforehand. But by the evening, we were pretty wiped. Oh, over by beach tower is a little bar area right on beach. Lots of fun at sunset every evening. Wish we found out about that place prior. Discovery kids camp was being remodeled, but they had a kids camp in the meeting hall that our daughter had a wonderful time at. Fabulous Italian restaurant. Had the best veal chops ever! Yes, expect to spend a few extra pennies at Atlantis, but well worth the money.

we just recently returned from the atlantis on 10/25/03. we had a 3 night stay and could not be more pleased with the hotel service, staff and accomodations. i have read countless reviews that were not happy with the service or the prices and i think those reviews are without merit. every staff member we encountered was friendly and the prices were a little high but we knew this going in. the grounds are super clean and the hotel does a great job of making you feel welcome. i am sure bad experiences do happen and do not want to discredit those who have had bad experiences, but all i can say is our stay was wonderful and we will be back!!

This past summer I went with a group of friends to the Atlantis resort. We had a great time. There were 6 adults and 2 teenagers. We found that there was something for everyone to do right on the hotel property. The hotel is truly first class. We stayed in the Royal Towers Imperial Club which is my recommendation. I found our room to be quite average but the service to be first rate! From the moment you arrive Imperial Club guests are treated a notch above the other guests. There is a separate check in reception area. Once you arrive you are escorted to the Imperial Club (which has its own elevators separate from the rest of the Royal Towers) where you are checked in and offered refreshments and cocktails. The Imperial Club provides the best value because you can eat breakfast in the morning and catch happy hour drinks from 5-7pm. Prior to my stay we had read other reviews that discussed just how expensive the food is. We found that to be relative to what part of the country you are from. In LA the cost of the meal is usually a good indication of the type of service you receive. We found this to be true at the Atlantis. The food costs the same as a nice dinner here at home. The service was wonderful. We ate at several restaurants in the area, all of which came highly recommended by the staff. The food was indeed delicious but the service was terrible. After a few excursions into town and off of the Atlantis property for meals, we decided to make daily reservations at one of the many restaurants on the property. This was a better options for a party of 8. Perhaps if you do not have such a large party the local restaurants might be an option. But for large parties they just could not seem to get it right. The hotel grounds are surprizingly well maintained for such a large property. We went jet skiing and snorkeling and found it easly to make the arrangements and the cost reasonable. The Royal Towers pool was lots of fun. We did wander around the property and saw complete chaos at some othe the other areas. The Coral and Beach Towers were full and kids running around everywhere. There were long lines at the check in counters and the air conditioning never seemed to be working in the common areas. You had to go to the other Towers for internet access. After a couple of trips I decided that I would just wait until I got home to check the rest of the email because I did not want to leave the serenity of the Royal Towers or the Imperial Club.My recommendation is that if you are going to the vacation at the Atlantis, save up and spend the extra money on the Imperial Club. You definatley get exactly what you pay for at this resort.

First, I have to say I was in the Bahamas 3 years ago and went over and visited Atlantis one night and I have wanted to go back and stay there ever since. My husband and I were very excited about the trip and I had read every single review on here and therefore I knew what to expect.
We stayed in the Coral Towers which was nice for the central location from Oct. 3-7 The Beach tower is farther and a lot of walking, but that's going to come with whichever tower you stay in. I was disappointed with the size of the room, but hey we weren't planning on staying in the room much anyway, but to sleep and shower, etc. We stayed in the room 2 nights and my husband went to guest services and asked if the water could be fixed because it only gave pressure on hot and not on cold. So basically, we were taking extremely hot showers because that's all we had and our air had been on 65 degrees for two days and it wasn't cooling. They were super nice and had someone come straight up and they couldn't fix it... so they moved us up to the 9th floor and it was really a bigger and better room. One thing I did find out while there that I wasn't aware of before I booked our trip is that The Royal towers are definitely the place to stay. They were new and really nice. The coral and Beach towers are just old hotels that Atlantis bought and joined all together to make the place so large.
Keep that in mind! The water slides were great and so was the lagoon and the swimming pools. We couldn't swim in the ocean while there b/c the surf or whatever was too strong. The marine life is unbelieveable.
Everywhere we went we were in amazement. Now, the food was excellent! I was skeptical from the reviews I had read. We got the Gourmet meal plan and we came out ahead. The first night at Five Twins and our bill was $175 for 2. That was the only one where $75 was credited each toward the bill and we had to pay the excess. Then the next night we ate at the Bahamian Club. It is definitely the best restaurantand the food was out of this world! Our bill for 2 was $230.00. The plan paid for all of that and we had to pay the gratuity, but keep in mind we ate more than usual b/c it was included in the meal...appetizer, soup or salad, entree, and dessert for each of us. We also ate at Villa D Este. It was very good too. We ate at the Bahamian Club two night because it was so great! Breakfast was also included and it was wonderful every morning and they serve it until 12:30 for late sleepers like us. Went deep sea fishing for a half day. That was all we needed. A lot of fun. Use King Fisher if you go. Everything in the hotel is expensive, but we knew that. Go to the market to buy souvenirs. I did buy a visor and a neat Christmas ball at Atlantis and they were something I will have for a while. Great time, but I don't know if I would go back. Everyone needs to see it once and say you have been there!

Atlantis is a very nice place but also very expensive. We stayed there in late March of 2003 for spring break. The rate that we paid was $400 per night for the mid-grade Coral tower - I found out later that you can get it for $200 a night in Sept. or Oct. The grounds are amazing and is a cross between Seaworld and a waterpark with a number of slides and all sorts of pools and aquariums with large fish, sharks, rays, etc. Everything costs extra including the use of the fitness center and the kids club activities ($10 an hour). The cheapest food buffet is about $30 plus tax and gratuity (automatically added) but I thought the selection and quality was pretty good. You can save by walking to other restaurants off site. For those with smaller kids they do not have very many slides and are very strict regarding the 48 inch height requirement on bigger slides. Our child was 44" and could not participate on almost all of the slides. She was a bit dissappointed.
The beach was nice, pools excellent but you have to get up early to save a lounge chair with a good view as people claim then with a book or towel and come back hours later. The room, for $400 a night, was not that grand. It was nice but far from top of the line - most Hiltons or Sheratons are just as nice but you pay for the grounds. No coffee maker in the room so you have to buy it from them @ $2.25 a cup. Great place to visit but go during the off season and save.
