This was our 3rd time to Harborside (we are Starwood owners in 2 other locations). We have stayed in bldg. 7, 5 and 1. Each trip as wonderful and memorable as the last. This past trip was a family reunion. 4 different families - all having a phenomenal experience. Age range from 60 to 2. Atlantis is an enormous resort with something for everyone. Being so gigantic - yes - some things slip thru the cracks - but overall - they do a phenomenal job of upkeep and running things seamlessly with the amount of people/guests that flow thru on a daily basis. It is like Walt Disney World meets Monte Carlo. If you don't like crowds it may not be the right spot for you. If you are looking for "Ritz" treatment - then you may want to book at the Ritz. If you are looking for an adventurous vacation - with something for everyone - then it is a perfect place.

AIRPORT TRANSPORTATION: Get your Bags. Clear Customs. You do not need a Porter to carry your bags. It's only a couple hundred yards to van/taxi area. Recommend Pr-Arranged travel with Sandra Ferguson (Cell: (242) 525-9532 Email- sexy_sanny@hotmail.com) 1-way for 2 people: $34. For 5 people: $55. If you want her to stop at the grocery/liquor store on the way she will (included). She is reliable, on-time, super friendly and safe. Travel Time between Harborside/Atlantis and the Airport 30 to 45 minutes.

GROCERIES/FOOD: Groceries are REALLY expensive. Bring a suitcase filled with dry goods (crackers, cookies, bars, nuts, pasta, cereal, oatmeal etc) There is a new Dunkin Donuts, and a Starbucks if needed as well. We also packed a wheeled cooler full of frozen meats (chicken, hotdogs, bacon, egg whites). There is mini-convenience store adjacent to the property - 10 minute walk. Expect island prices. Everyone who knows this resort - talks about how expensive it is. True - but remember...it's the islands. Things must be imported. Therefore, prices are higher. Harborside runs a shuttle to the market most mornings - $9 per-person round trip with one hour to shop. My Recommendation: (which we did and worked beautifully) is to order your groceries ahead of time online @ www.FoodStore2Go.com - they deliver right to Harborside - for about the same price as the grocery plus a tip...you pick the delivery date and time.

INTERNET - Atlantis charges a ridiculous amount for daily wifi ($20 per day). You don't need it. Harborside Lobby and the Atlantis Library have computers each person can use daily to check emails, print boarding passes, FB etc. There's something really great about disconnecting for the week.

THINGS TO PACK: Casual Clothes, Comfortable Walking Shoes (you will do a ton of walking), Cooler bag, water bottles, snorkel equipment (for the lagoon @ Atlantis), dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent (for additional washing during the week), tons of suntan lotion (very expensive to buy it there), Tupperware containers for storing food (if you are staying @ Harborside), a floating blow-up raft (we wished we had remembered to pack one), power strip (if you have alot of gadgets), football or water balls (if you have kids).

Kids between the ages of 3-5, Aqua Tots is awesome! feeding baby marine life (sharks/rays/starfish) in a shallow water lagoon. Each day five children are selected to participate in a 20-minute fish feeding frenzy. Feedings are Tuesday through Saturday at 10:00 a.m. near the Reef Wing of the Coral Towers. Go to the Atlantis Library the day you arrive and enter their names into the drawing.

Kids ages 9-12 send them to Club Rush! This is a nightclub for kids. $25 cover. 7-11 pm. They love it! And you will love the adult time. Our boys 9 and 11 would have gone every night if they could. The older kids (9, 10 and 11) did not like Atlantis Kids Adventure but our kids 6, 5 and under loved it!

RESTAURANTS: We loved Mesa Grill @ the Cove Tower (adults) Get the Conch Chowder! and Virgils in the Coral Tower (Family). Bimini Road is another favorite - but later dinners after 8pm - when the island band is playing and the nightlife kicks in on Marina Walk.

NEGATIVES: Can of soda is $4 / (tip: get the refillable cup for $4 at the beach bars) Large Pizza, 2 Coronas and 3 Gatorades: $86 (tip: make your own in your room). Lines are long @ the Waterpark. Atlantis sells day passes to cruise ships coming in. If this is your business - you would be doing the exact same thing. As an Atlantis resort guest - it can be frustrating. Wish they would do something like Disney does and have select hours early or later for Resort Guests only (tip: Get your park wristbands @ Harborside Pool BEFORE you go to the waterpark. Lines are much longer @ the WaterPArk Adventure both for towels and bands). Harborside Condo's may be missing a few items - minor inconvenience - simple call to front desk and housekeeping brings them up. We had a leaking fridge. I called maintenance they were there within 5 minutes. Had it fixed in 10 minutes. Was not a big deal at all. Some guests at the resort were complaining their bags were not delivered immediately upon check-in. Option: You can carry your own, borrow a luggage cart or wait patiently. No blanket for the rollaway bed (you can request one, not a big deal). Check In lines can be long. Be patient they move people thru quickly.

OVERALL: this is the Islands. Expect higher prices than the mainland. This resort is no longer brand new. Expect some change. Expect some wear and tear. Enjoy your family/friends. Disconnect from cells, internet and email and appreciate the incredible details that went into this great resort. Highly recommend it for families and adventurers.

Traveled with a group of 6. 2 adults, 3 teens and a senior and had a 2 bedroom lock-off.

Check-in: We arrived late due to flight delays and everyone at the hotel was great. We requested a handicapped room and got a great one with a view of the marina (nice to have a yacht out our window every morning) and very close to everything. We ordered from food store to go and were worried we would have to move the delivery to the next day due to our late arrival but they were waiting for us when we arrived and unpacked everything for us while we were checking in. We also had an issue with picking up wrong suitcase at the airport and the staff at the front desk were very helpful.

Getting around: Very easy to get around the resort. Freindly staff greeted us every morning and always took extra care of mom in her scooter. Got our wrist band at Harborside pool before we left every day and took the shuttles or walked wherever we wanted to go. Was always nice to go back to Harborside in the afternoon and relax in the villas before dinner.

Food: Food-store took care of breakfast and snacks . Did lunch poolside and did Mosaic one day (expensive but nice). Always went out for Dinner. Carmines and Virgils were great for large groups, Bimini Road was a great atmospohere, Seafire was good steak (but expensive) and Anthonys was slow but food was good. Also got Murrays deli one night and brought it back to the villa (delicous sandwiches)

Tips: Baths Pool and Cove Beach are the best--not too crowded, best pool and beach, close to water park and great DJ in the afternoon--great for all ages. Get there before 1030a and have no problems finding chairs with umbrellas (get there by 9 if you want first row near pool). Take the shuttle marked Cove to get here --nice walk around Cove when you get off shuttle.

Be careful on rapids ride--both my wife and I fell off and got scraped--fun ride, just hang on!

Dont miss The Point at Harborside--1/2 price frozen drinks 4-7P every day. We took beatiful family pictues here at sunset--great way to start your evening.

going to Carmines or Virgils will give you enough food to have a nice lunch in the villa the next day (almaost makes the prices reasonable).

Make later dinner reservations--We ended up moving most reservations back to 730P-8P as by the time you get back to the villa after a busy beach day, rest and get ready for dinner, its already late--originally planned 6-630p dinners but was always asked by everyone to make them later.

Were able to use the Harborside pool and hot tub at night (not sure if it was technically closed but nobody bothered you and other people were enjoing it too). Pool was nicer at night as it was very hot during the day.

Dolphin Encounter on Blue Lagoon Island---a great day and must see! easy walk to the ferry from Harborside and everyone had a ball. Was also nice to be off Atlantis for the day.

Overall: Harborside was perfect for our group of 6--plenty of room, we felt like we were going home after a busy day at the Atlantis pools or after nights of dining and going to the casino . Can not say enough of how helpful, the entire staff was--always smiling and willing to help with everything. Felt very safe letting our 11 and 14 year old take the shuttle back and forth by themselves.

Thanks for all the advise before we left and I hope some of these tips help you make it a great trip too!

I want to thank you for posting such a positive and helpful review on our resort. Your review is filled with great tips. I especially love the tip about sunsets at The Point. It is truly one of the best kept secrets here. The view is simply breathtaking. Additionally, I am thrilled that your family vacation was a success and I hope you come again.

My wife and I honeymooned at the Harborside Resort in August and the experience was wonderful. Since we had our own kitchen we did our grocery shopping in town prior to arriving at the resort. Since everything is imported expect that grocery shopping will be more expense. To save on expense, if you so desire, bring as many non-perishable items that you can carry in a separate piece of luggage saving only things like milk, eggs, etc., for the grocery stores. This equals huge savings if you have a family. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and cool, and all of the basic utensils / cookware you'll ever need are there. Occupants of Harborside still have access to all of the grounds throughout the Atlantis resort (with the exception of The Cove I believe?) so feel free to explore, swim, and sun anywhere you desire. There are depots located throughout the resort where you can obtain towels and/or access wristbands. Aquaventure is a must-go for children, in addition to the giant shark tanks and the dining area that has the wall sized aquarium. If you enjoy sushi and Asian fusion then you have to make a reservation for Nobu!! We also went to Bobby Flay's restaurant the Mesa Grill. A little pricey as expected but the food and the service was top notch. There's a wonderful nightclub upstairs from the casino floor and plenty of shopping in the main concourse. The spa service was amazing, cold waters, warm robes, hot tubs and steam baths, plus a variety of massage options. My wife prefers light to moderate pressure so she opted for "swedish" while I had the "sports" massage because I needed to be pummeled. My wife is a frequent spa attendee but this was only my first. By her standards she said the experience was very good, by my limited experience I thought it was excellent!! I'll leave that up to you!! We capped off the day with some horseback riding and a slow trot through the surf at sunset. If there is one excursion I highly recommend it's the "Powerboat Excursion". You go out on a powerboat ride, blitzing through the Caribbean, you stop off at secluded island where you feed grapes to iguanas and dive for conch. Next stop is another island where wonderful food is prepared / served before going out for a day of snorkeling, ray feeding / petting and some shark wrangling. You can even pet the sharks circumstances permitting. Atlantis also has regular shows / concerts (our friends who also joined us saw Bruno Mars in concert), and a buffet that features Karaoke. (Word of caution get to the buffet early, and if the food isn't keeping up with the demand speak to someone and they will rectify the situation immediately or comp your meal.) I waited almost 20 minutes for a soda after 3 polite requests and the buffet had 5 different offerings that remained empty for about 30 minutes. Our friend spoke very nicely to management and they actually cancelled our bills as a courtesy. Everyone at the resort is very pleasant, so there's really no need for brashness. If you're not happy with something simply express your concerns in a calm manner and they are ready and willing to make things right.

Nassau is expensive for anyone to dine. The kitchen option Harborside offers gives you some relief if you are prepared. You must bring some things with you in your checked luggage unless you want to pay 9.00 for milk. The resort has an awesome family friendly environment. It also has free shuttles to the various towers&pools at the other Atlantis areas. It is wonderful there&we will return! Freindly people&great location, walk everywhere or a short cab ride!
