The Harborside villas were very nice. The rooms were lovely and practical. There is a pool at the resort but the biggest benefit is access to Atlantis. With that said, you have to get over to Atalantis either by walking around the harbor, or taking a shuttle. Even after that it is a lengthy walk to the pools. They Atlantis pool area is the highlight. The downside- although you have a kitchenette, it will cost you 7 bucks per person to catch the 8am shuttle bus a very nice Whole Foods style market. The prices there take Whole Foods prices to another level- so expect to pay 11 bucks for a 12pk of coke. It's will cost you a ton of money for groceries. The eating out alternatives are not much better, exorbitant prices. $20 for a 10 inch pizza.... It's just Disneyland prices on everything. So for the access alone to Atlantis very worth it.

Room Tip: Building 7 had a harbor view of Atlantis is was very nice

Just completed a stay at Atlantis Harborside. We rented a two bedroom timeshare through Shoshana on VRBO. Let me first say that our experience renting through Shoshana was exceptional. We were able to rent a two bedroom unit for significantly less than we could have rented directly through Atlantis. Look her up on VRBO...you won't be sorry! As for our stay... Harborside is very nice, and very quite. We travelled with four adults and one child and the setup of the unit was perfect. The full kitchen was very useful. We knew what we were getting into as far as eating on property going into the stay, but I must say the prices hit you square in the mouth when you get there. It is absolutely nuts what they charge for things on property. They are the only game in town, so they can certainly get away with it. We chose to shop at the grocery store and eat breakfast and lunch in the condo rather than paying the price at the restaurants on property. This saved us a ton of money. Every night we went out for dinner, you could count on a minimum of $100 for 4 of us. As long as you understand going into it, it is not a huge deal...just be prepared. No matter what you buy on property, it is assessed a 15% gratuity. We learned this the hard way ordering take-out one night. The funny thing is, I would usually tip more than that, but it hacks me off they charge it on everything, so they got what they charged unless the service was exceptional. Most of our service was o.k., but we noticed a huge dropoff in service when you stuck to the lower tiered restaurants. We ate at Carmines and Mesa Grill during our stay and both were outstanding with great service.
If you are traveling with a family, Harborside is a great place. Kenva at the front desk was the main person that helped us during out stay, and she was fabulous. Atlantis is huge, so if it is your first time there, take in what you can!

We exchanged our week at the Westin in Kauai to try something new. We are Hawaii fanatics and we were pleasantly surprised. This hotel is not in the same level of the Westin but he fact the we can use most of the amenities at the Atlantis hotel made it special.
The staff is supper helpful and nice, the swimming pool at the harbourside Resort is really big and a quiet place to hang.
If you want to cook in your unity the hardest thing will be getting good groceries. They have daily shuttles to the grocery store $7,00 per person. We just got some drinks and breakfast to eat at our apartment, most of our meals we had at the hotel. Our one bedroom had a really small kitchen with an old and supper noisy dishwasher.
We may come back to bring the kids to have fun at the Atlantis hotel and all the water slides. As a couple I would stay at the Cove hotel, still I don't think this would be my choice of location as a couple again. The food is supper expensive so come ready to pay for it. If the food was good I would not mind the price so much, but even at the nice restaurants at the hotel I would say the food is average.

Room Tip: You don't get much of a view in this hotel, but building 4 would be the worst.

We stayed at a friend's timeshare recently. For 8 of us, we had 2 adjoining units. My friends have gone there every year for the past several and are treated very well every time. Units are new. They are clean and attractively decorated. For a 1 week stay, maid service was offered once, midweek.

One unit was quite a bit larger than the other and had a full-sized kitchen where were fixed a full breakfast one morning. All pots and pans, tableware, etc are supplied. The smaller kitchen was used as a coffee and snack station. Dishwashers and stackable washers/dryers in both units. Coffee makers and toasters are available in the units. There were no coffee filters--perhaps you're supposed to pack your own, but we asked and were given enough to get us through the week with several to spare. My only complaint was that the toaster in one unit didn't work. We never called, but I did leave a note on it on cleaning day and nothing was done. It was polished up and put back in it's broken state.

The bedrooms have very comfortable king-sized beds. 1 Roll-away is permitted in the larger one-bedroom unit plus pull-out sofa so will sleep 5; the smaller unit has one king-sized bed and one pull-out sofa and sleeps 4.

If the purpose of staying in the Villas is to try to beat the high cost of food/lodging on Paradise Island, be advised you should probably pack as much of your own food as possible. As well, do not plan on buying much as the on-site "sundry" shop where a dozen eggs is $8.45 and one quart of milk is around $5.00. Instead, inquire in the lobby about the bus to the grocery store where eggs are $1.95/dz. The bus is NOT free as we were originally told. it costs $7 per person. Stock up on bottled water too unless you think you can get past the smell and taste of the Island water which apparently comes from a desalination plant. I found it was okay in coffee and mixed with Crystal Light, or even lemon wedges. Probably would have made okay tea. It is safe to drink--just has a smell you may not like.

Empty out a wheeled suitcase as one of our bus-mates did and while at the grocery store, you can also visit the liquor store for reasonably-priced beverages.

There are also liquor and souvenir shops off of the Atlantis property (just beyond the Scotia Bank at the foot of the bridge--can't miss it.) There is a small restaurant and a Dunkin Doughnuts there as well. Good luck with the "free" wifi. I was never able to get it to work.

Internet access was problematic for me. There are 2 computers in the Harborside lobby. I waited about 40 minutes to use one of them. There is a 15 minute time limit and no printing. Wi-fi can be purchased at a rate of $15/day. I chose not to do this (but it was a hardship!)

When you check in, you will be asked for a credit card and then issued a card for use all over the property. No need to carry a wallet--but treat that card like a credit card for indeed it is.

On your 1st visit to a pool you show that card at the towel hut; you are given a wrist band and as many blue/white striped towels as you want. You can get a new wrist band every day or leave it on all week. Your choice.

Your Harborside ID does not guarantee you access to the higher-end properties (Reef and Cove) but we found no problems just walking in. Pick up a yellow towel somewhere and act like you belong! The beach at the Reef property is the best one in my opinion, The pool at the Cove is ADULT only and the music is so loud, I would not have found it enjoyable anyway. It put me in mind of a scene from "Entourage." Enough said?

In any case, there is plenty to do on the Atlantis property. We only bothered with the Harborside pool on the 1st day since it was after 5 by the time we got settled in. Nothing much to do there and at the neighbouring bar we waited about 15 minutes at the bar to get served. Why bother with that unless you have very small children?

Pack up your beach bags for the day and pick up a bus to one of the hotels to access the Atlantis pools and beaches. Kids will love the "bucket" pool and the one with the water slides seemed to be very popular with all ages.

Poolside food is limited but good if a bit pricy. Cocktails range in price: I paid between $9 and $10.50 for a mojito. Not sure what the difference was and didn't care to complain since the service was so good and the bartenders don't skimp on the liquor.

Be advised, there is a 15% gratuity added to EVERYTHING you buy. I found that a couple of dollars in cash over and above the gratuity were very well received (Nassau is very poor) but the extra tips were not necessary; every employee we encountered was polite, helpful and cheerful.

Some days there will be cruise ships in the harbor. On those days the pools and other facilities will be very busy. No worries if you can't find chairs enough for your party. One of the attendants will help you! A nice young man put together 7 chairs, 3 umbrellas and 2 side tables for us. He VOLUNTEERED. He was as nice as he could be. These are the people you should tip generously; it was 90F and 80% humidity that day. He was out there in long pants and a polo shirt hauling chairs around with a cheerful attitude!

All in all, the Atlantis/Harborside was a terrific vacation spot. I'd go again in a minute.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with children, I suggest asking for a villa close to the main building to minim...

Harborside was not exceptional. We were there in low season 10-11 to 10-18. Pool was very nice but part of it was under construction entire week. The restaurant by the pool was consistently out of menu items for breakfast or lunch. Edwina was our concierge and she was not helpful and several times not truthful. She made us wait 10 minutes while she chatted on the phone about pizza, and then said she was too busy to reserve a cabana for us. Our major complaint is the cost of the food on the resort and were not happy to learn the Bahamians paid $5 for the Marketplace breakfast buffet while we paid $32 each. We arrived on a Friday and on Saturday at the pools by the Mayan Temple there were so many locals we couldn't find a beach chair together. The locals have free run of the place after 5 PM every night. Not exclusive. We won't be back.

One of the main purposes of online reviews is to highlight areas that can be improved. Therefore, your comments are very helpful to us. As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that our property is well maintained, Harborside’s pool deck is undergoing an intensive cleaning and resealing process. As the process requires cannot be done at night, we opted to do it in a phased approach so as to not inconvenience our guests by completely closing the pool.

As it relates to the other concerns you mentioned about the Buffet pricing and lack of chairs at the Atlantis pool, please note that these are not typical. As such, I would like the opportunity to get more information by speaking with you directly. I can be contacted at hsresponse@atlantisparadise.com. Thank you for taking the time to review our property and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Harborside Resort is a great value versus the expense of staying in one of the Atlantis hotel towers (Beach, Coral, Royal, Reef and Cove). Harborside has beautiful accommodations with fully-equipped kitchens, washer-dryer, dining area (with seating for 4 to 6 guests depending on the size of the apartment), jacuzzi tubs and beautiful balcony with table and chairs. The property was well-kept, the staff is amazingly attentive and there are shuttles that take you to each Atlantis Tower until midnite. Harborside guests have use of the entire property at the Atlantis for no additional fee. It is nice to have this beautiful oasis to retreat to at the end of the day. There is manned security gate that checks every car that comes on the property. Harborside has its own beaufitul pool and small gym and a restaurant called The Point (which has amazing views). For a small fee, there is a shuttle that leaves every morning to take guests to the supermarket to buy groceries to provide an option to eating at the expensive Atlantis restaurants. I mean how many $20 hamburgers can you have before you completely blow your vacation budget??? The Manager, Judith Thompson, is first-rate and takes each guest's comments or concerns seriously and makes sure that they are addressed efficiently. There was a bottleneck of guests, taxis and shuttles and Ms. Thompson was out of her office making sure that the bottleneck was clearly quickly. She did not delegate. She was completely hands-on. In many properties, you never even know the name of the manager much less get to see them actively managing the property. When you have a manager that cares that much about the guests experience, you know that you are going to have a first-class experience. Kudos to Harborside and their staff!! Keep up the good work!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are great. It just depends on whether you want to overlook the pool area or the Ha...

We spent 7 wonderful nights in a one-bedroom Harborside Villa. The accommodations were very nice and spacious enough for two people. The staff were all very friendly and remembered our names throughout our visit. We visited during low season and there was work going on around the pool that was noisy and distracting but we enjoyed ourselves none the less. The food at The Point was good but best to go Royal Towers for better dining options.

An Atlantis vacation is pricey but worth it. You can do as much or as little as you like. There is something for everyone and it is a great place for families.
