“Amazing Trip, But too be nit picky...”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Just got back from Cove...Amazing trip, beautiful hotel, excellent friendly service (for most part), an overall very positive experience, however a few things to make note of. Firstly, Meal plan is a waste so don't do it. We were charged $333/day for meal plan (2 adults $139 /1 child $55), Breakfast at Mosaic, provided no boozing, every day is $89.70 ($31,$31,$16- tip $11.70= 89.70). Dinner was more diverse, but adults get 1 app/1 entrée/1 dessert, so if you back out the $31 for breakfast you have $108 to spend ON FOOD ONLY (drinks/tip not included). We are not huge eaters, so prob would split app and dessert, but even at inflated resort prices, that's a lot for food. We were told that if available, children eat off the kids menu, if not they could choose from adult menu, so we chose restaurants (Chop stix, Seafire Steak, Mesa Grill, Olives, One and only) based on the fact that we were told by the Atlantis rep most did not have a kids menu. EVERY RESTAURANT had a kids menu, which was fairly priced only if you were paying for it, but if you back out the $16 for breakfast, you are looking at $39 for food, and that's ALOT of chicken tenders, mac and cheese, pasta with butter, etc you get my point. Lunch isn't included and neither are drinks and gratuity, so at the end of the day, after the drinks and gratuity is added you are generally looking at an additional 33% per day (maybe we drink too much ;-), on top of the meal plan ($333/day), and that's being generous. Its hard to imagine a time where this would work out in your favor so IMHO not worth it, I can't ever imagine an instance where it is cost effective. Beach and pool was excellent, very clean, attendants were super nice, make sure if you want a nice location for either you rise at 6:30am and go save chairs whether or not you ever sit in them, because that's what most people seemingly did. If you don't mind sitting looking at the back of someone else's lounge chair then no worries, plenty of seats for everyone. While it was not as bad as I may be making it sound, but its a pet peeve of mine, and it is rampant here. Water rides were a lot of fun, well staffed for the most part, but once the cruise ships roll in the amount of wait times for slides could triple, so if you're into that sort of thing be aware of it. Overall, Top Notch resort, could you do it for less than the $9500 in total for 5 days it ended up costing the 3 of us? I say yes, but that's for you to decide, Cove serenity is worth the premium to me, because the other pools/beaches can get crazy crowded. We will most probably be back...Enjoy

From the moment I walked through the lobby, I could feel the stress melt off of me. This place is awesome and makes you feel like you're in Bora Bora. The open-air lobby is a sensory spectacular of waterfalls, ponds with colorful tropical fish and wondeful sea breezes. It is a spectacular experience.

The rooms are very nice and very large. The views are amazing. I've stayed here a few times on high floors and low floors on both sides of the building. They all have excellent views of the water, island and resort. Despite the warm temps, we usually just kept the sliding glass door that leads to the balcony open at night. I cherished waking up to the sea breeze, the sound of the waves and the crystal blue green waters. 2 separate sinks, soaking tub, separate shower and separate toilet room in the large bathroom. Nice size walk-in closet. Comfy beds. Then you step down a couple stairs to a good size sitting area with sofa, chairs, a few tables and out to the balcony.

As mentioned in previous reviews, this place is extremely expensive. There is a resort fee per person per day (can't remember the cost). I had a rental car on 1 trip and the cost for valet was $10 per day (plus tips). There is an extra fee for wifi. Lunch and drinks for 4 poolside was about $200 each day. Room service for 2 (for breakfast) was about $100. There are many restaurant options for lunch and dinner. Mesa Grill, Nobu, Bahamian Club and Virgil's BBQ are all excellent. Mosaic for breakfast is pricey but delicious with tons of options. We did the high/low thing for food options- a few mornings we just got a small bite and coffee for breakfast at the Starbucks in the Reef's lobby and we also enjoyed cheap eats and local cuisine for lunch at the fish fry (outside the resort, in Nassau).

The Cove experience is much different from the rest of the Atlantis. It is a lot less crowded and the overall atmosphere is a lot nicer and more upscale. The service is a lot better. There are people on the beach and at the pool to assist you with beach towels, umbrellas and chairs, and food service. I've also stayed at the Royal Towers and that is not provided there. There are very few children in the hotel and on the private beach of the Cove. The pool at the Cove is adults only. There is a bar and gaming tables right in this area and a DJ who spins great tunes throughout the day. I vacationed with friends and family and we are all in our early 30s so we loved it. I can see how older folks like my parents would really be annoyed by the noise though.

Everyone we came in contact with was very sweet and helpful. Within a few days, they knew us by name.

I stayed here a few times in the past year and have had a wonderful stay each time. Looking forward to a return visit at some point this year. I'd say you get what you pay for and this place is worth every penny.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days last year. The room was lovely overlooking the ocean. It was clean, nicely furnished and the bathroom was huge.
We ate at Mosaic for breakfast, good selection of food, great service with smiles. Lunch was mostly by the cove beach. We went into town a couple of nights and ate at the fish fry. Dinner at Carmine's at the marina was very good.
The Cain at the cove was pretty cool. There's outdoor gaming available and I liked the music BUT it was always crowded and the music was a bit too loud to really relax by the pool. So we just skipped it and went to the cove beach instead. The concierge was always there to help pull up loungers for us and get us drinks. We also spent some time in the lazy river, that was a blast!
I booked a Swedish massage for an hour at the Mandara spa. It was just ok. I've had better. And the massage wasn't up to an hour. It was only 45 minutes.
My husband did the dolphin interaction at Dolphin Cay. He said it was fine. He has done a similar activity in Bermuda so it was nothing new.
All in all The Cove is very nice with a luxurious feel to it and the service was great. I would stay here again and I would definitely recommend it.

My husband and I stayed at The Cove for 4 nights on the first leg of our honeymoon (before going to Disney World for a week). The resort is beautiful and service very good, many of the staff remembered our names and that it was our honeymoon.

The room was clean and comfortable with plenty of space. We stayed on the club floor and access to the club room was great for breakfast and happy hour drinks/snacks. The Cove pool was beautiful but we didn't like the very loud club/rap music the DJ played. All of the pools played very loud DJ music. In my opinion, local live music would set the scene better - acoustic guitar music or steel drums is what you expect in a tropical locale.

The major downside of this resort is that everything is WAY overpriced. We paid $40 for a round of drinks at the pool for 2 people, $120 for lunch, the dinner buffet will cost you $70 per person. There is even a $15 a day charge to use the gym. While the fine dining restaurants are worth the price nothing else is.

We really enjoyed our stay but left feeling like we were taken advantage of and for that reason will not return to Atlantis again.

Room Tip: We stayed on the club floor and had access to the club room which was great for breakfast and happy...

First, comes the bad. This place is expensive. We stayed for a week and paid about $865.00 per night for three of us. Nothing, aside from pools and water park (lots of fun) came with that. If you want internet ($22.00/day), gym $50.00/week per person, etc., that comes with a price. That said, the resort seems to have priced everything in such a way that indicates they know what the limits that the average consumer would pay. Now the good. For families, this place offer plenty for kids (arcade, kids club and water park) and for adults (casino, spa, private adult pool called the Cain). For kids and adults, there is a semi-private pool shared with those staying at the Reef, a private beach and various dining options (although you will pay a premium at the higher end restaurants such as Nobu and Meza Grille). The rooms are nice, spacious and well appointed (probably mid-way through a 10-12 year hotel room life cycle) and all rooms have ocean water views. They gave us a free upgrade to our room. Service is friendly and excellent (almost, but not quite, rivaling the Ritz Carlton in Naples). I would recommend hitting the grocery store and liquor store to purchase a few things on the way to the hotel. It is worth it and a lot of people do it so don't worry about feeling uncomfortable. FYI, a 1 liter bottle of Grey Goose costs $30.00 on the island but is almost 5 times that at the resort. Upon request, they will send up a refrigerator for your use free of charge.

My wife, daughter and I just returned from a four night stay at The Cove at The Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. The hotel is quite beautiful , the rooms are beautiful, spacious with spectacular views of the the ocean and the entire Atlantis Resort. The beaches are pearl white soft sand with plenty of room and available chaise lounges , with shade covers, for all. The Adult Pool is vibrant with beautiful people everywhere. HOWEVER, YOU MUST BE VERY RICH TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD THIS RESORT BECAUSE THEY CHARGE FORTUNES OF MONEY FOR EVERYTHING!!!! ITS UNAFFORDABLE !!! Let me give you some examples. For one, the food and drink are absurdly expensive to the point that i was saying WOW. Are you sure the total is correct?? I can swallow the cost of the dinners at the very cool restaurants like Dune, Nobu and Carmines. That is to be expected. However, how can you charge me $120 plus dollars for three people at the beach side snack bar for average chicken sandwiches and water for three people. A bottle of "Whispering Angel" White Wine we ordered on the beach, which I checked sells for $25.00 at the local market, the hotel charges $150.00!!!! The real kicker comes when you go to Mosaic for Breakfast. They consider anyone over the age of 3 as an Adult. They charge you $ 40 dollars per person for an average buffet, even if you just have one bowl of average oatmeal! It was so way over the top it took a lot of the enjoyment out of the weekend.
God forbid you asked for a late check out if your taking a late afternoon flight home. They charge you an extra $150.00 if you want to stay in your room an extra 2 hrs past check out.

This resort would be better served as a high end all inclusive than the current set up. But these absurd prices for everything does not deter the masses from visiting and eating.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 10th Floor. View was spectacular.

I am already missing this little paradise!
This hotels is la creme de la creme, the food is fantastic the beach is serene and it doesn't come cheap! But people who come to this spot know what they are getting themselves into. This is not a budget vacation so do not be alarmed if you are left with a hefty bill at the end of your check-out.

We went all out during our stay, we stayed at The Cove, its a more secluded part of the Atlantis resort. The setting and decor is very alluring and sexy, with the low dim lights at night and the open airy hallways.... feels a bit like an exotic destination:-)...

The Cains pool is key because its an area reserved for adults only (sorry kids the entire resort is designated for you, let the adults unwind)...with an attractive assortment of drinks (alcoholic and non) but be prepared to spend $ 15+ (per drink) , the selection for snacks and meals are also desirable and healthy!

The nightlife was mediocre specifically the club it was extremely over priced, my biggest complaint was the lack of service at the bar (Aura) if you don't have a bottle, well you get little treatment...Note: a shot is $ 20.00 (lol)... ya I'll take a stroll into town where the real action begins... If you are looking for a place to party tryout Ibiza night club! or just hang out by the fish fry the locals are super willing to hang out and show you the Bahamian vibe.

Beaches- spotless :-) just embrace its beauty!

Room Tip: anything above the 5th floor!
