“best hotel ever”

yep, it's expensive. really expensive. but for a family of 6 we got a two bedroom suite, and there is an incredible amount of room. like, it never rained, but if it did and we were stuck inside, it would have been ok. the studio and the main room share a common entry with a door to the hotel hallway, but also have their own doors. this is a great set up. there is all you could want from a kitchen in the one bedroom unit. the studio unit has a smaller kitchen. the master suite with bedroom and bathroom is HUGE. it's all high-end and well decorated, immaculate. service was great. the staff at the REEF and the COVE are all wonderful, every single person we encountered was great. i tend to complain and i'm hard to please, and this place was wonderful.

This hotel is in a quiet corner of Atlantis. I love the passage to The Cove. It is a very luxurious hotel. Lots of shuttles and taxis. Very cool lobby. I loved the whole experiance. There is a television in the bathroom.

Room Tip: Buy a room with a kitchenette! They are very helpful

If you come to Atlantis, you are coming because you want all this mammoth resort has to offer. What is great about the Reef is that you can still enjoy all the Atlantis has to offer but are able to get away from the crowds.

It's basically a very nice condominium building. Rooms are very comfortable and quiet. However, there are no restaurants or bars here. Also, the small pool seems to always be in the shade.

The shuttle buses to other areas of the resort are nice and incredibly efficient. Staff here is the same quality as the rest of the resort, which is to say truly friendly.

• Hotel grounds are beautiful, but the layout is confusing and the property is simply too big. I missed a dinner event because I was unable to find its location, despite one hour of searching. Asking the hotel staff for directions is futile and the few signs are severely lacking in detail.

• We stayed on the 17th floor of the Reef in a studio overlooking the water park and the ocean. The room was excellent. The hotel website photos are surprisingly accurate in this regard. We could hear the guests next door one afternoon when they got particularly rambunctious, but otherwise the room was quiet, clean, and comfortable.

• The kitchenette had a full set of dishes, silverware, and drinkware. It had a two-burner glass cooktop stove, a microwave, and a European drawer-style dishwasher. The Reef provides a small bottle of liquid soap and a sponge, but you must bring your own detergent if you want to use the dishwasher. The sink is one typically found in a home wet bar, small and awkward to use. The kitchen also had one medium pot with a lid, one medium frying pan, and a full-size blender. The fridge was a compact, under-counter type, approx. 3.3 cubic feet. The coffeemaker was a mini 2-cup model.

• There is no washer or dryer in the Reef studio rooms, despite what the Atlantis web site might lead you to believe.

• HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP: FoodStore2Go.com. By ordering groceries online, I saved at least $70 per day on food compared to the rest of my group. I had multiple flight delays and FS2G accommodated each one with speed and grace. When I finally did check in, my food order was ready and waiting. FoodStore2Go was the only thing that went exactly as expected on this trip.

• Food and drinks are extremely expensive. Among the group I traveled with, the cheapest lunch (pulled pork sandwich and a beer) cost $30 and the cheapest dinner (Market Place buffet w/o alcoholic beverages) cost $58. Most of my fellow travelers spent upwards of $80 per dinner. Take advantage of the kitchen in your room and use FoodStore2Go.

Just came back from a 5 day vacation at Atlantis with my daughter and grandson.
A fun spot for a family vacation but can't imagine going there for an adult vacation.
I tend to stay at upper end vacation spots. So at $600/night ( including resort fees and taxes) I didn't expect to be nickeled and dimed every time I turned around.
The biggest rip off is being charged $21/day for wifi. Most hotels usually have free wifi in a common area but not here !
The next rip off was the shuttle transfer from the airport to the hotel. DO NOT buy the transfer package. It was $45 each way to be crammed into a van with 4--6 other people when you can take a taxi for $32. I'am sure the hotel is taking some payback from the van company. The trip back to the airport was worse. They had a small bus that was on the verge of breaking down and made multiple pick ups. Don't fall for this " service".
Then you get to the prices at the hotel for food and drinks. Wow ! Come loaded with lots of snacks etc for the kids or stop by the market near the marina and stock up.
Oh, by the way, if you'd like to use the workout center, be prepared to cough up another $25 per session.
We stayed at the Reef, which is nice and the real plus is that each room has a kitchenette. It has a nice beach and pool complex. The staff is friendly and well trained. The elevator system is very efficient. For Starbucks junkies, the building has one right in the lobby.
The downside to the Reef is that it's further away from a lot of the activities. The complex has a good shuttle system to take you around. The rapids/tube ride is a lot of fun. The kids will be thrilled withe the aquarium and the shark tank.
Anyway, bring a fat wallet and swallow hard.
If you're just a couple, find a quieter resort. If you're a family, i'am sure the kids will have fun.

Room Tip: Bring a supply of snacks for the kids, stop by the market at the Marina and stock up on drinks, etc...

AMAZINGLY friendly and helpful staff, were wonderful with anything that was needed. Right on the beautiful beach also a pool for those who don't wish to enjoy the bath water temps of the fruit gusher blue sea! Beautiful hotel and rooms are immaculate. Could not recommend it more!

Room Tip: They will assist you if you are not satisfied! Speak up and let them know.

Even Donald Trump would find it a little expensive here. Everything you do costs you money. It feels as if they charge you to breath (which is definitely something they try to bring up at every share holders meeting). The hotel utilizes the wonderfully well natured and scandalously underpaid local Caribbean staff to butter the edges of your wallet so it doesn't feel so bad slipping out a measly $8 dollars on a water (and you can see it in their faces when you pay, they look at you like you've been smoking the funny stuff) but if mugs like us are prepared to pay for it then they'll happily keep charging us. The rooms are mediocre, designed by a soulless interior designer with the originality of a cracker. The beds feel like they're made from a soft cloud thats spent so long in the air that it has hardened and given up trying to be fluffy. The bathrooms, are bathrooms. The amenities...well unless your a resident of the condos in the building, you can't use them..so you have to walk across to the other building, which sounds like I'm just being lazy until you realize the entire complex is the size of Disney World. Regardless of the Reef's lackluster dwellings, you should reconsider coming to the Atlantis. Sure its got a fun rubber ring ride and the kids can't go very far in the fun jail they've built, but its an ominous cruise ship thats slithered onto the island and dumped itself there to cut the locals off from receiving any of your love, generosity and holiday spirit. The Atlantis wants your money in exchange for your soul. If your willing to pay now, hell is waiting to take your money.

Room Tip: I advise you stay at this hotel instead Compass Point Bahamas.
