went to this place just to kill some time.. big mistake.. ghost town.. only peddler's had make-shift "shops" open.. do not go here.. you can tell this used to be the place to be by the decorations and old shop signs, but no more.. no toilet paper in makeshift restrooms..

My wife and I stayed at the Castaway's Hotel next to the International Bazaar 30 years ago this week for our 1st honeymoon. The place was full, bustling, and fun 30 years ago. Today the place is a creepy ghost town with zombie's probably lurking in the abandoned shops. Very sad to see the place and compare photos 30 years apart. Only the Perfume Factory is still worth a visit. I finally ran out of Sand Cologne a few weeks ago after the 1st bottle I purchased 30 years ago went empty, so I got another bottle, good for the next 30 years.

Find something else to do. 75% of stores closed. Remaining stores so so. A few years back a hurricane did damage and they never repaired it. All commerce is basic.

All the books said it was great. Rode a taxi to what turned out to be an abandoned mall with narrow walkways broken and boarded up windows. There are still a few shops but definitely not worth the ride.

This place is a ghost town. Don't go there! This was once a cool place but hurricanes knocked out the resort and casino located next door. As a result most of the businesses left. If you go there by cab I'd advise to pay the cabby to wait for you. You want be there long.
