Pelican Bay Resort was offered as one of Discovery Cruise Lines f "Cruise & Stay" options -- not the least expensive but not the most either. We were pleasantly surprised with the lodging and the resort itself located on the water Our room was roomy & clean and offered a frig & wet bar, coffee service, balcony with two comfy chairs & table. The location of the Resort is great -- the water ferry is right there, next door is Unexco, and the Lucaya Market is just a few steps way. The onsite restaurant -- Sabor -- had a great bar and excellent food. We will definitely return.

We stayed her for my birthday weekend. All I can say is I loved it, so much in fact, we are going back in August, 2011. The staff treated us like we were the only ones there. Our "housekeeper" bent over backwards to meet our needs. The gold cart driver, gosh I wish I remembered his name, was very accomodating. The room was spotless everyday; the pool areas were maticulously maintained; the lobby was a fun spot to stop throughout the day because of the orange water and fresh fruit, as well as the staff always having a kind word.

Folks, there is always room for "improvement" no matter where you stay. There is always someone that will pick something apart. I've stayed at Our Lucaya across the street on a couple of occassions and paid quite a bit more money. Nice, yes.; better than the Pelican - I'd say not.

Room Tip: Go directly onto their website.

My family had 2 waterside staterooms. Lots of space for 3 ladies in one and a family of 4 in the other. I agree with others that cleaning could be notched up. However, the grounds were very clean and well kept. The staff every where was very friendly and helpful. (yes, we did have to ask for extra towels, hangers) Sofa in iving room NOT comfortable for sleeping, we requested a roll-a way at no extra cost. In fact a sweeping replacment of upholstered furniture is in order for our two rooms.

Buffet breakfast was lovely Sabor restaurant on premises was excellent. Many other choices available in market place. Try Breeze Cafe!

Three pools, ferry to beach and use of facilities at Taino Resort, made it a very good vacation experience.

We just had alot of rest and relaxation. From BillyJo's the first evening to dinner at Taieno Beach Resort the last night. The hotel staff helped out greatly with our renewal ceremony. From the front desk staff who assisted in the beautiful floral arrangement and Photo's to help in the ceremony. Our room was clean. We enjoyed the daily views of the boats coming in out of the bay. We met very nice people in the market place. Drove Jeeps, Scooters and went out in the ocean on the glass bottom boat. We just had a great time. Have not stopped talking about it. We will be back.

Room Tip: View of the bay is great. 4th floor is good.If you like the pool you should get level 1 poolside.

Hi everybody,
I would not advice anybody to stay at Palican Bay hotel. i would not give one star for the service. Very dirty rooms, every day you have to ask administrator to give equal amount of towels for the guests. sinks did not work, water did not drain from the bathtub. half of the lamps did not work. if you want to get your floor to be washed you have to ask cleaning lady to do it, otherwise- just forget it. mattresses of beds probably form the time of world war II. after sleeping on their beds your will be sore all day. in USA this hotel would not get one star.

My wife an I stayed 4 nights in a Waterside State Room in mid-June 2011. This hotel has a great location on the harbor, close to the marketplace with shops, restaurants, tours, etc. The room was great; it was large and clean, there were books on the shelf if you needed something to read, the view of the harbor from the balcony was fantastic, UNEXSO was next door if you scuba dive (which we do). The staff was friendly and efficient with check-in and check-out. The boat to Taino Beach was very convenient. This was a perfect vacation; we couldn't have asked for anything better.
