“Sweet and simple”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

This was a stop on Bus Tour which I would have preferred to spend more time at, instead of "Souvenir drops". There were some nice souvenir places at the Garden and not so much pressure to purchase. The church was clean, sweet and simple as is the garden. Informed staff willing to share info to add to your trip...very pleasant. Allow time to ponder and wander.

This was an excursion from a cruise I was on and so glad I went. The gardens were beautiful, the staff so friendly and informative. It was nice to see something "real" rather than something just for the tourists, if that makes sense.

“Beautiful and informative.”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

Check out the old church and the labyrinth where you walk to find your "center". Lots of walkways and places to sit and appreciate the beautiful surroundings. We went on a day when it was sort of drizzling rain and misty, very relaxing.

“It's not all about "Duty Free"”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

This stop was a cruise excursion option and one I am glad we took. If you want something that is different from the shopping and the beaches and casinos and you want to learn a little history of the Bahamian Islands, this is a lovely and relaxing option.
Friendly and helpful staff who obviously care a great for the Garden. It is not big, but it is full of plants and birds. Our Guide Katrina was very knowledgeable and much of her focus was on many of the medicinal properties of the plants. We learned a lot in our short 1 hour tour. Had an additional 30 minutes to wander back through the garden...you don't need much more. The chapel was worth another look. There are about 5 shops of nothing spectacular and a cafe that seemed to have a nice variety of lunch items. If you want excitement don't come here, if you want a nice break from the go-go-go of a cruise do yourself a favor and visit the Garden. (Young children will probably be bored. There is walking but it is not strenuous and with the exception of the chapel everything is accessible.)

“Small, but nice”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

This was a stop during a cruise excursion. It was very small, but what we did get to see was pretty cool. Good cold SANDS beer at the café there!
