This resort turned out to be a pretty nice place to spend a week. The staff is incredible and they go out of their way to help with setting up rides to attractions, restaurant tips, and anything else their guests need. We had a two bedroom unit with a view of the lagoon. It was very spacious and clearly had been renovated. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning worked well. They offer a shuttle to the beach and shopping area daily and a shuttle to the grocery store twice a week. The restaurant on the property offers some very good meals. Everything we ordered was delicious. There are two pools and one hot tub. We only spent time at the pool near the hot tub and always had a great time relaxing in this area. Although this resort is older and not on the beach, it is still a beautiful resort with a lot to offer.
On many reviews, people start with the positive and end with a negative which leave more of a lasting impression. I'll do the opposite. The only negative I have is that check in was at 4 PM and we did not get into our room until 5:30 PM and the housekeeper still was not finished cleaning. What made it more curious to me was that the resort e-mailed me 2 weeks prior to know when I was arriving so I assumed they would prioritize when rooms would be available based on folks flight schedule. To the management's credit, they tried to make it right with a free bottle of wine as well as a few free bahama mama's while we waited.
The time share is a older resort that is located off of a canal inlet. There are many yachts anchored next to the property. There is one restaurant on site and the food is great. Do know that everything on the island food wise is pricey cause they have to import everything. Also not only here but most places automatically include a 15% gratuity. (At least give me the option). The staff is VERY friendly and the service is great. Even though it is the only restaurant on the property, It was only really crowded the second night we were there.
As far entertainment on the property, there are two pools, both are on the small side with a hot tub. They have a swim up pool bar but I never saw anyone manning the stations. They do try to offer entertainment for those who do not want to venture off property such as a movie night, manager reception, bocce tournament. They also offer free shuttle service to the local market for those who want to stock up on supplies in their apartments as well as a daily free shuttle to the beach. Shout out to Hayward for the great job.
The two ladies, Beatrice and Hattie are AWESOME. Their job is to help book excursions on the island. If you tell them what you are into, they will find the perfect activity for you to get into. They can also arrange for local reliable transportation for those who do not rent a car.
The property does offer rental cars but I would not recommend them for those from the US who are not use to driving on the opposite side of the street. Also the rental rates from any company on the island is about 2 to 3 time more than you will spend in the US. To me it was better / cheaper to just rely on taxi's and shuttles.
Being that this is a timeshare, they will try to push non-owners to go to their 90 minute sales presentation with the offer of breakfast, t-shirts and a 5th of rum. If you are not interested, simply say no. You will find people all over the island trying to get you to come to their resort to see the sales pitch to try to get you to buy a property. The hard sale can be irritating if you are on vacation to relax. Most visitors already have a timeshare someplace anyway. I went to the Ocean's presentation just because B and Hattie were so nice so they would get credit.
There is also an exercise room on the property but there are not many machines in there to workout so pick you time when you think nobody else will be there.
Finally the property is very secure with a gate around the property and security guards on patrol at night. We felt very comfortable our entire time there.
Overall this is a very laid back location. It is an older resort and it shows. The people make the place worth wanting to come back to. They are the best amenity. If you are traveling with kids, there may be a challenge for there is not a lot for them to do outside of checking out board games, or hitting the pool. The only thing that I wish was that this was a beach front property so you would not feel confided to only go to the beach when the shuttle was taking folks in the middle of the day.
