Gold Rock Beach was great! This was another one of our stops from the tour we booked in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. When you come out of the Lucayan National Park walkways through the plants, you will arrive at a beautiful view of this beach. The way the sun hit the water, the way the water came towards you, the way it sounded, everything was like something out of a movie. It is called Gold Rock Beach because when the sun hits it at a certain time, it looks golden. The water was not only crystal clear, it was also really warm. There was some sort of little channels that had about 1inch of water on the sand that was just amazing to lie down in and enjoy it. Definitely one of the best parts of our trip to the Bahamas that ranks up there with enjoying the privacy of Rose Island. If you are ever in The Bahamas and stop by Freeport, Grand Bahama Island, going to Gold Rock Beach is a definite must do.

Awesome. This was the highlight of our visit to Lucayan National Park visit. See reviews for the park to learn more about the beach. Take towels, swimsuit, picnic, water, etc and plan for 2-3 hours to enjoy the beach. Low tide was awesome.

I read so many reviews about Gold Rock Beach and I must agree, it is a wonderful and beautiful beach. This is one of the most wonderful beaches I have ever been. The beach is secluded, and the setting is so beautiful. I would recommend this beach to anyone visiting Freeport, Bahamas.

Should you go the Freeport, Grand Bahama you must go the Lucayan Nat'l Park/Gold Rock Beach. This is for nature lovers as there are a lot of plants that has medicinal use. The caves has a long history of the original Lucayan Indians they were the first inhabitants in that area. Going in the Bens cave it is so peaceful, you can hear your own heart-beat. You must go with a
certified tour guide. From the park crossing the board walk you see beautiful fishes of all description you can feed them. OMG! the Gold Rock Beach it is one of its kind it is the most beautiful beach on the island especially when the tide is low, you see little tracks in the sand
it is an unspoiled beach, because it is approximately twenty-six miles East no locals go there because of the distance, only visitors in tour buses, taxis or rentals. Wear your swimming attire, take drinking water and snacks as the nearest shop is about six miles from there. Just a little ways up is the area where the Pirates of the Caribbean movies was film. $5.00 entrance fee per person (adults)

So all the locals told us about the caves and how beautiful the beach was. The caves were not at all what we thought. It was an overhanging rock with a small lagoon in it. The huge spiders were more impressive but terrifying. There were no beautiful flowers or plants as was written in the description. It cost $120.00 by taxi for the four of us to go. The beach while beautiful was long width wise but not to where the waters edge was and it was covered with seaweed and debris. Completely not worth the money or effort to get out there, even for nature lovers. We thought it was going to impress us more but we were extremely disappointed. Don't bother.
