“The perfect Nassau antidote”

Great all the way around. Secluded beachfront location, Mickey & Joan are fantastic (as are their four dogs), free kayaks, bikes & snorkel gear, great price ($140/night and they leave the tips up to you). Especially after meeting several people complaining about their stays at Atlantis, Breezes and our disappointing stay at the British Colonial Hilton, I knew we made the right choice. Easily accessible by 20 minute plane ride from Nassau.

We were lured to the Seascape by wide open beaches and the promise of diving in beautiful blue waters as shown on their web site. We made it very clear in our emails that we were coming to dive and relax on the beach. We arrived to find out the dive master’s boat had been broken down for months and the dive master had recently had surgery and was not sure if he could even take us out. We did dive one day off of a fishing boat with leaky regulators, BC’s in need of repair, and a grumpy dive master. It’s hard to say what the worst feature of the Seascape is. Is it the noseeums that ravaged us in the dining room/bar the first night of our stay that left welts for the remainder of our trip? Maybe the dirty beach with water that ranges from 2 to 5 feet deep for at least 100 yards off shore? How about the junk bicycles (all in need of repair) supplied as the only form of transportation? We really want to thank Micki and Joan for their lack of interest in us as guests and the minimal amount of time they spent showing us good places to snorkel. The Seascape is the next best thing to camping in the jungle.

We spent 7 nights at the Seascape Inn last May, and I will never forget it. It was well worth the money. The dinners at the resort were outstanding. Good food and lots of it. The proximity to the blue holes was the best feature, and free kayaks and bicycles made it easy to get around. The fishing was awesome. The other guests made it a real trip to remember - an interesting mix of adventurers. I don't think many families with children would stay there, but don't let me dissuade you. The rooms were very clean. Although, the insect life in the area is abundant to say the least. :) I can't think of anything bad to say of the resort that they can fix. The environment is pretty wild and they are not responsible for the bugs. The really special thing about a trip to Mangrove Cay is the friendliness of the people of Andros. Nowhere else have I been welcomed and befriended by complete strangers as if I was part of their family or had lived there all my life. I love the Bahamas, and the combination of Mangrove Cay and Seascape Inn was truly a memorable, pleasant vacation.
My wife got a little bored, though. Well, there it is. Honest and true.

We had the most relaxing time at the SeascapeInn. It is absolutely charming. The owners, Joan & Mickey were incredibly friendly, helpful and wonderful chefs. The food was fabulous, with large portions. It was such a pleasure to get away from computers and phones and even clocks.
Our children were facinated by the tides (we live in a land-locked state). Joan & Mickey were kind enough to turn out the lights at night, so we could see the stars. Their restaurant clientelle were so nice.

The beach is clean, clean and the water is clear, clear. The snorkeling was wonderful.

This is the place to go if you enjoy peace and quiet in a tropical setting. Mickey and Joan are very accomodating and good folks. The views are outstanding as are the diving and fishing. Bonefishing flats within walking distance. The accomodations are comfortable and clean. There is not much to do outside of the Seascape, but the people are friendly and there are a few unassuming conch stands and grocery stores here and there. Don't pet the black dog by the Seamans club.
Not for the club med crowd, definitely for the adverturous type.

While we didn't stay at the Seascape Inn, we did eat and snorkle there. Joan and Mickey are wonderful!! The food was wonderful (ask for chocolate/coconut pie made with local coconuts!)
The Seascape Inn is a diamond in the rough and perfect for that quiet getaway. The beach is clean and the ocean perfect. The hammock was calling my name the whole time...
For anyone wanting to go to the Bahamas but don't want tourists and touristy attractions, Mangrove Cay and the Seascape Inn is the way to do it! It's worth the trip!

My wife and I have been to the Seascape Inn since it opened. After our first visit we knew we would be back again and again. The "inn" is so sweet -- you have your own Cabana - with a deck. The sea breeze is so refreshing. Looking out your cabana window -- all you see is a beautiful sandy beach and the blue ocean -- you walk off your deck and into the water. How great is that! The rooms are decorated so nicely -- you know special touches have been put into each room. A local artist has his paintings in each room. Each door of a cabana is adored with a painting of sea life. We usually stay in the "conch" cabana but have stayed in the "guppy" room on occasion. The art work on the door was do by a local artist as well. It is so wonderful to sit out on the deck -- after a day of diving -- and just relax. The diving is superb! Mickey and Joan have been on Andros a number of years, know the waters and the best places to dive. Mickey even has a few places only he knows about!! They are also responsible divers -- and are very mindful of sea life environment. The meals are just great. Joan serves a breakfast to "die" for -- which was included in the price of the room! She gets up very early every morning to make the best muffins we have ever tasted -- all from scratch! They are served fresh from the oven! Mickey and Joan are such a great hosts and wonderful cooks. All the meals are prepared fresh -- and to your order. If you would like a taste of local Mangrove Cay restaurants - Joan and Mickey are happy to recommend local places to eat as well.

The "inn" is clean, enjoyable and we have had a wonderful vacation each time we visited! We have met some very interesting guests there as well -- and everyone just raves about the accommodations, Joan and Mickey, the diving, the bone fishing, bird watching, the snorkeling, the free kayaking, free bike riding - - you can do it all or just relax on your deck and listen to the ocean. We have already made our reservations for the end of 2004 Holiday season! I know as others discover "The Seascape Inn" -- reservations may be hard to get! A great place like this is a had secret to keep!
