I live in Key Largo and wish the resteraunts and bars where as clean and had good fresh food that equaled this. I'd rather pay for fuel and entry fee to get the quality and service I had here than stay home. The resort was clean and the staff friendly and willing to help.

We stayed at Bimini Sands for a week in February. Location wise it's great especially if your unit comes with a golf cart ( otherwise its a bit if a hike to get places, although there is a bus that runs on the island every so often). The unit had one spacious bedroom, living room bathroom and kitchen. It had everything you needed for cooking, cleaning etc.. Located on the first floor you could walk right outside and enjoy the view while sipping a glass of wine. We were facing the dock, but it was still a nice view. There are private beaches but omg beware of the sand flies!! Unbeknownst to me I was bitten all over and only saw the bites the next day. They itch like hell and leave scars!! I looked like a speckled fish during my entire stay in Bimini. Use repellent!
I wouldn't say it was the cleanest place I've stayed in. It was clean, but not spotless. Then again, I'm very picky when it comes to that.
There is a little convenience store a close walk away that sells, well not much but a few basic things. Milk and fresh produce only come in once a week or so, so be sure to grab that when you can.
Overall, great stay. Take a trip to the North side if you can. It's only a 5 min boat ride away!

If you are looking for the best place to stay on Bimini, the Bimini Sands is the best choice by far. Great accomodations, excellent food, friendly people and good service. Plus: location, location, location.

Bimini Sands is on the 'south' island, which is very quiet and undeveloped. Alice Town and most of the homes, shops, resorts, docks (and people) are on the 'north' island -- including the massive 'Bimini Bay' development. A very narrow inlet separates the two islands -- just a ~3 minutes ride on one of the small ferries that constantly run back and forth. (See my other post on 'how to get there" and local transportation.)

Bimini Sands includes rows of one and two bedroom townhouses / condos along around the central marina, plus two rows facing the beach. We rented 21-A -- which is right on the beach, next to the marina entrance. (A photo is attached.) The two-bedroom condos on the beach are ideal for families; away from the marina with beautiful views, with the beach outside your door. Most include fully equipped kitchens and a washer/drier. (Great when the kids have been out fishing!) During the high season the marina is hopping with fishing / party boats from Florida, and the one-bedroom condos that face the marina are the best bet if you want to enjoy the night life.

As a number of other reviewers have noted, Bimini Sands has a good restraurant -- probably the best on the island. A funky bus runs between the resort and the reswtaurant, which is located at the southern tip of the South isoand, with nice views. There is also a friendly cafe next to the marina; we had lunch there every day during our stay.

The most significant 'plus' for us, however, was the wealth of fun and adventure that Grant and
Katie arranged in the Bimini Sands 'Activities Center'. (See the notes in my next post.)

In short, we saw the other resorts on Bimini during our stay -- and were very happy we pick Bimini Sands! This is definitely our #1 choice for a return trip.

We were just recently staying at the Bimini Sands resort in South Bimini Bahamas. We had a large group with us from all over the world.
From the front desk staff to Chief Prince in the restaurant, the dock staff to the staff maintaining the property - we got nothing but the best service, smiling faces and politeness.
Everybody was very accommodating and willing to help with all of our arrangements.
Thank You Bimini Sands for making our stay such a pleasant one - we will see you again next year!

We (one couple) did an all inclusive in mid-Feb 2013. The one bed one bath beach unit we were assigned was reportedly in the oldest section and did not seem to have working hot water or cooling, but the manager promptly switched us to a newer and very nice beach unit instead.

Staff was very helpful and friendly all around. We needed lots of info and they were there for us the entire five day stay.

I would hire a boat tour from the resort, ask for Strata (nice guy and a super guide) to be your captain/guide. Snorkel at various locations on the way around the islands. Take the resort bus down the street to the water taxi to north island for some activity. The Petit Conch is Sand's on-property breakfast/lunch spot. Excellent food, very friendly waitstaff. Bimini's dinner venue (Beach Club) is a quick off-property free bus trip away. Food is very good including sushi. One tip, Mondays and Tuesdays are "appetizers/snacks only" and bar area only, at least in February, due to less staff. A walk along the beach south from Sands property is very nice. We saw a spectacular sunset.

Visit Big Game on north island for lunch, drinks, dinner. I've seen this place referred to as pricey? $3.50 for a glass of great chardonnay! Prices are very reasonable. Conch fritters are a must.

Overall, Bimini Sands is a beautiful place to spend a vacation, peaceful and quiet at least in the off season. I recommend considering if you really want to get away.

Accommodations are excellent....the perfect mix of an out island experience with all the comforts of home. Dive boat is top notch and Bimini's best sites are very close to the resort....more time diving and less time traveling. Book it and dive with one of the best dive operators in the Caribbean!

I recently took a trip to Bimini Sands Resort and Marina and had an amazing time. The hospitality of the staff was excellent and they were always available to help or give me insight on all the natural wonders of the Island.
My room view was incredible and only footsteps from the beach, the marina was very clean, the infinity pool is beyond spectacular and grounds where great.

I took a golf cart over to the Neal Watson's Scuba Center and was awe struck by the beach that sits right in front of it. The dive operation is state of the art and the dive operators are very friendly and knowledgable. Right next to the dive shop I got a chance to eat at Bimini Twist and the Sand bar. Both of them had amazing food and beverages, great servers and a great view of the ocean.

I recommend Bimini Sands Resort to all my friends and colleagues
