The suites are picturesque and the setting is perfect. The staff could not be nicer or more attentive. Everyone in our party loved the self service bar. This was our second year in a row at FBV, we will be back!

The location is wonderful. The people are nice. The rooms are overpriced. The food is overpriced. The snorkeling equipment,; I would bring my own. They need a bartender for the bar. They need some good vegetarian options. As far as I am concerned it was not a good value for the money.

We are so happy you enjoyed the beach and staff at FBV. Our time honored self-help tiki-bar is a favorite among new and returning guest. While it's not a common request we do our best to accommodate all dietary restrictions - food shopping in the out islands can have it's challenges. It is best to bring your own snorkeling gear. Thank you for visiting we do appreciate your business.

This was our second trip to FBV. Decided to stay a bit further down the beach for more privacy. The cottage is small, but we were never in it, so it really wasn't relevant.

The best thing about FBV is the privacy. They were fully booked, but we rarely ran into anyone except at the clubhouse around meals. It's busiest at dinner which begins at a set time and everyone is clearly ravenous, but breakfast and certainly lunch, are a bit more casual. I never felt overcrowded....even when it was "crowded".

Beaches are great. The main beach in front of FBV is shared by the Island HopINN, but again, you never really run into anyone. If seeing 1-2 people in a mile stretch is too much for you, kayaking over to the beaches by the creek will pretty much guarantee you 100% privacy or you can cycle (or drive) to the Altantic side beaches. Which are well worth it to be honest. I've not seen blue that color in my lifetime.

A bit of a side note, cycling to the town of Knowles (~3 miles north of FBV) is nice as there is a stretch of rocky beach on the Exuma Sound side that is just lovely. There are picnic tables in Knowles across from the market. Well worth a stop.

The hosts are lovely--Jason is a welcome addition to their team. Heavenly place. Will definitely go back.

Room Tip: cottages/villas away from the clubhouse are more private (coral, conch cottages and the villas)

Stayed there Feb 22-29 and it was literally paradise. Other than 2 windy days, the weather was perfect - calm, sunny, and almost too hot but just probably just right (28 ish by day). The white sand beach and clear turquoise water was ideal for swimming - both splashing around but also distance swimming and snorkeling (at each end of the mile long beach). Not a lot to do or see on Cat Island but that's why we went there. The resort was full but we rarely saw or heard anyone. Very peaceful. We also rented a car and drove to the Atlantic side which was spectacularly undeveloped. The entire island is clean and safe and quiet. Food was good. Honor bar was a bit pricey as are all the taxes and fees on the final bill but Bahamas is not intended as a cheap destination. The tourist board did however have a promo and paid for 2 return flights from Nassau to Cat Island which was worth $320 so that was nice.

Will go back whenever I can afford it again!

Room Tip: Shane Shack is right on the beach but not easy to book

We had a fabulous trip to Fernandez Bay Village - had seen an article in Garden and Gun magazine six or more years ago and never forgot it. Had the chance to slip away for a week and chose it -absolutely thrilled - just as described- Went last week in February 2014 and could not have loved it more - perfect way to unwind from a busy life - beautiful setting - steps to the beach - swimming, sunning, kayaking, paddle boarding, bikes - great cottage- loved the meals. Not a place to go if you are looking for lots of shopping, lots of restaurants, golf - to be entertained - need to entertain yourself with all that a beautiful natural setting provides - can get lots of great exercise or just read on the beach. Hosts are lovely and welcoming - we plan to go back with our children to enjoy another great vacation.

Room Tip: stayed at caretakers cottage - very nice- near the main lodge - might prefer to be further away if...

Just spent a week with kids and grand kids in heaven...a place called Fernandez Bay Resort on Cat Island Bahamas!!! Janet and I have been there before with Air Journey on a group trip. We loved it so much, we decided to do Presidents week vacation with kids and grand kids. It was a week that none of them will forget!! Snorkeling, fishing trip, rented a car and has lunch in Arthur Town at Da Smoke Pot complete with some rake and scrape music. Shelling, the Bat Caves.... And the resort itself. VERY family oriented, friendly, efficient. And the food!!! Spectacular!!! Will we go back???? You can be assured we will!!!'

We just completed our 6th trip to Fernandez Bay and it was just as awesome as the first five. The beach is fantastic. We love to stay at the Point House. It's secluded at the end of the beach. There is daily maid service with fresh towels. But other than new beach towels you hardly need the service. There are ceiling fans and AC if you need it. I like to just use the fans and go to sleep listening to the ocean waves. I love the laid back atmosphere.
Donna drove us to the store and we bought some groceries and we made our own breakfast and a couple of dinners. It's great to have the option of eating at the club house or making some things on your own. If you like "Sandals" types of resorts or have to be entertained at all times this is not the place for you. That's why I love Fernandez Bay.
The staff is great and leaves you alone if that's what you want. Donna is great and Jason is a great new addition to the family.
This is the place you see in pictures but don't realize exists in real life. I fantasize of making a life here every time I visit.
