We booked Fowl Cay and stayed in the Lindon Cottage for our anniversary. By chance, I read a tiny article about Fowl Cay and the Exumas in a travel magazine, which peaked my interest. We were not at all let down. The service from the staff on the island is impeccable! Nicole, Grant, Lisa Ann, and Wayland were all the greatest hosts and met every need. From Lisa Ann having fresh coffee and fresh hot baked goods waiting for us every morning, to the great dinner prepared each evening, this was an over the top experience. We ended our vacation with 3 nights in Miami Beach at the St Regis at Bal Harbour, eating dinner at Mr Chows and The Palm. Fowl Cay and it's staff could teach all of these fine establishments, service and hospitality! We hope to go back very soon to meet our wonderful new friends mentioned above.

We just returned from a week at Fowl Cay Resort. We were in the Bird Cage Villa. We came in with very high expectations, and they were exceeded. The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful, you are immediately welcomed with open arms (literally) and before long you feel like family. The water is remarkable, snorkling is some of the best we have ever seen, and there is an island near by habitated by tame-'ish' wild pigs! They literally swim out to your boat for food....(just ask the chef and they will arm you with scraps). The mornings begin with warm baked snacks delivered silently to your villas kitchen. When you arise, your coffee pot has been turned on, there is a newspaper on your table, and you can watch the sun rise from your private oasis. Then, off to your outdoor shower before jumping in your own private boat to explore the neighboring islands. Don't miss swimming with the Nurse Sharks at neighboring Compass Cay Marina, and the Grotto Cave was indescribable. If you are heading out for the the day they will prepare a lunch for you to enjoy on any of the countless islands in the area.

The evenings often began early in the afternoon with Kalic (local bahamian beer) and a stroll on the beach. Then a fabulous meal served by an excellent chef each night. Lobster, Steak, Lobster and Steak, Rack of Lamb, the works.

On our departing day, we elected to take a sea-plane to Nassau to fly home from there. Paul from Safari Seaplanes landed the aircraft in front of our villa, and parked his plane on our beach. We said our heartfelt goodbyes and flew off, with thoughts of when we could next return to this paradise.

We could not have had a better time. Worth every single penny.

I was very fortunate enough to experience the most wonderful holiday I know I will ever go on. It really does not get better than Fowl Cay in terms of Paradise. We stayed at Sweetwater house which is one of the bigger houses on the island. There was 6 of us in total and there was more than enough room for us all. There was also a double pull out bed in the tv room so could sleep up to 8 people.
We arrived by a small plane to a nearby island, where Yves picked us up by boat, who I must say he and his wife were the most amazing hosts anyone could possibly imagine to meet. They are truly dedicated to making sure your time on the island is spectacular. In fact, everyone on the island are always happy to help with any of your needs. The aspect that really made the holiday was the surrondings. The colour of the sea was out of this world, better than anything I had ever seen before. The larger villas all have their own private stretch of beach, which was just perfect. No seaweed, rocks, anything, just perfect white sand and crystal clear sea right on your doorstep.
Each villa also has their own private boat which we used a lot. There are so many little islands in the exumas that you can just stop by and have a picnic on, which is prepared for you by the chef. You can practically ask for whatever you want, same goes for your fridge back in the villa. And the choice is certainly not limited. Some of the places I'd recommend which are good for scuba diving would be Thunderball grotto, the marina park, Compass Cay where you can swim with nurse sharks (that's been my facebook profile picture for 6 months!), the sunken planes and maybe Rachel's bubble bath, although you have to go when the tide is in. You can also go fishing where all the equipment and bait is readily prepared for you and all free.
When back on the island, the food you will experience is amazing. Each morning, your personal host/hostess brings pastries for breakfast, and asks if you what you would like for dinner from two choices. Although it's limited, children always have alternatives available. You also have the option of having a packed lunch or eating in the restaurant for lunch. There is a pool table and other games which you can play, and here is usually where everyone from the island meets up to discuss what they've been up to that day. I must say, everyone we met was so friendly and I put it down to the fact of the amazing surroundings and how friendly the staff are. It also helps with the amazing cocktails that are on offer!
To sum up, it will be the most amazing holiday you could ever go on and one you will never ever forget

We were at Fowl Cay in May of 2011. A little late writing this review as I loved this property so much I didn't want to share it with anyone!

We travel for beach vacations 2 or 3 times a year, and are Sandals Diamond members. When we found this property and heard it was originally purchased by the Stewarts to use as a vacation property, we had to see it.

The whole experience is unique - from the time you jump on a small plane in Nassau to the time the sea plane (hi Paul and Suzanne at Safari seaplanes!) picks you up on the beach, you really feel like you are wealthy and going to your private island.

For the first two days of our stay, it really was private - as we were the only two guests on the island. Even when a few other guests arrived we only saw them at cocktail hour before dinner.

You can tell the whole staff loves to be on the islands and helping people enjoy the Exhumas. It was so completely relaxing to wake up in the morning, turn on the coffee pot (that Lisa Ann set up for us every night), and take a cup of coffee out out on the patio to look at the ocean. We often took our coffee for a walk on the sandbars. From there the day was ours. We were on our own schedule and did what we wanted. No waiting in a lobby for a tour bus, no being forced to go shopping after touring Thunderball Grotto with 20 other people, etc.

Most days we had a leisurely breakfast on our patio (the villa is stocked with more food than we could consume in a month!) we would make our way down to the dock in our golf cart (you get a golf cart to travel around the island) and stop for a few minutes to chat with Yves, Martha, Grant or Nicole to plan our day on the water. They are all highly knowledgeable of the area and will help you plan a route on the maps they provide. Lisa Ann would have our lunch basket ready and waiting (Chef George made us awesome tuna fish sandwiches!) and we would head out for the day on our boat. Yves took us on a checkout ride the first day to make sure we knew how everything worked, how to use the radio etc.

Most days we just tooled around looking for deserted beaches - there are tons of them. But there is also plenty to do if you want to snorkel or dive or get a fishing guide. We went to many great snorkeling spots and every day on the way back we would stop to see the swimming pigs. After a day on the boat with a picnic lunch on the beach we would come back late afternoon - the team would help us tie up the boat and they would clean it and get it fueled for the next day.

We spent late afternoons relaxing on the patio and would head down for pre-dinner cocktails at the Hill House around 6:30. It was interesting to talk with the other guests to see what they had done that day. Chef George would always have a delicious 3 course meal for us. Then we would return back to our villa for a nightcap on the patio.

One of the highlights of our trip was getting a chance to chat with Adam Stewart. He happened to be on the island when we were there. We really enjoyed meeting him and hearing his vision for this and the other Sandals properties. We were very impressed with the amount of time he spent talking with us - getting our feedback on our experiences as Sandals Signature Guests. He really seemed interested in hearing what we have to say. You could tell he had a passion not only for the hospitality industry but also for making sure that they have a positive impact on the communities where their properties are located.

This was truly the most relaxing vacation we have ever been on. The entire staff on the property made us feel safe and welcome (even Ruby the rather pudgy lab). We have decided their promotional tag line should be 'White Glove Service in Shorts and Flip Flops'.

We loved it so much we are returning this coming May.

Room Tip: All the Villas are beautiful and unique - Lindon House is the only one bedroom.

Gosh where to start... Fowl Cay Resort is a true unique gem. In order to believe how beautiful this place is, you really have to see it. The resort itself exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Lindon Cottage and it was perfect for our honeymoon. The view was unbelievable, and we were only a few steps from the ocean. Everything was first class...and I mean everything. When we arrived we were greeted at the dock by the team and were taken to our cottage where they had champagne on ice and other snacks waiting for us. The food was excellent. Chef George was amazing and even made special request for us. Lisa Ann took care of us our entire stay and made sure our place had everything we needed. Yves and Marta were so helpful in planning all of our fun adventures to the other islands. You can tell that the people working at Fowl Cay take pride in what they do and that they truly care about their customers. The Exumas offer a tranquil setting with crystal clear water and many other things you can’t experience in other places in the world. If you are considering going to Fowl Cay, we strongly recommend you make the trip. We cannot wait for the next opportunity for us to go again and firmly believe this is one of the most unique places on earth.

My family stayed here for a wonderful vacation. The simplest review I can give is that if you have the opportunity to visit Fowl Cay you must otherwise you will regret it. We could have not asked for anything more. From the accommodations to the food to the location, all were spectacular. But the crown is the staff. Yves, Marta, Lisa Ann, and Ruby made us feel at home, were full of information in enhancing our stay, and overall deserving of the glowing tributes you will find in the other reviews.

Go, stay, enjoy. I dare you to try and leave.

Its a place where you could easily forget everything and just live for that moment alone.

We went to Fowl cay for our Honeymoon and it was the best choice we made. We went all the way from India and cherished every moment of our stay there. It was a great experience!! Hospitality at its very best. The management (Y'ves, Marta, Grant and Nichole) gave us a warm welcome and made sure everything over our trip went smoothly. We stayed at Lindon House and Lisa-Ann made our stay comfortable. Food was a big concern for us as we are complete vegetarians and the chef didn't let us down. Whether it was private dining in our room to packing a picnic kit for us, every meal had a different variety and it was delicious!!! Snorkeling and sailing around the island by ourselves was the best experience ever. Our trip was everything we wanted it to be. We would highly recommend Royal Plantations at Fowl Cay to all Honeymooners.
