We stayed during the month of December and had perfect 80 degree weather. Charlie was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating to all of our requests. The property is very clean and well maintained, its obvious he takes pride in everything he has. We cooked most of our meals at the villa and the kitchen had everything we needed. We rented his car and boat during our stay and his prices are very reasonable. The water front is so much more beautiful than in the pictures. This place is an explorers paradise! We kayaked 4 out of our 7 days there to all the numerous beaches within our reach. This place went far beyond our expectations, and we are already looking to come back. We came as guests and left feeling like family. Thank you to Charlie and his lovely family, we look forward to visiting again very soon! Janelle and mark

“Paradise Found!”
Reviewed 22 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Stayed in early Nov 2016. What an amazing place! We loved it so much we extended our stay for another day, we just could not leave.

The villa was spacious and had everything one can possibly need - a/c, wifi, satellite tv, beach towels. Everything was in great working order, and it was spic and span sparkling clean!!

The views were nothing short of spectacular. We spent many hours just sitting at the covered gazebo at the dock mesmerized by the beautiful turquoise waters and sandbars during low tide. We kayaked over to the sandbars, Man O'War cay, and to Haulover Bay. There are mangroves over to the other side of the cove where there is some snorkeling that can be done. However, there is quite a current that runs through so you end up drift snorkeling. The water is shallow (except where the channel is between the villa and the sandbars) so one can just stand while looking at the fish. We spotted two dolphins swimming by one afternoon!

Charlie was great to work with, very easy going. I cannot say enough how much we loved this place So much so that the timing of our future trips to Exuma will be based on the low tide times so that they are ideal with our schedule, and the availability of Bay View Villa! We cannot wait to go back next year!

“AMAZING LOCATION & SERVICE”
Reviewed 4 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We just got back from an 8 night stay at Bay View Villas. We were there from the end of October till the beginning of November. All I can say is we are already looking into booking our next trip to this exact spot and we typically never go to the same place twice.

If you are looking to book soon and are worried about the effects of Hurricane Matthew, don't be. The island fared extremely well and everything was up and operational as normal and the weather was beautiful. We had a couple of windy days and some rain but I think this is to be expected in the Caribbean.

The location of the property is nothing less than perfect. You and one other villa have the full run of the beach, dock & gazebo all to yourselves. The property has kayaks to use whenever you want and the most beautiful sandbar is just 100 yards row right from the beach. My wife and I traveled with our sons that are 2 and 4 years old. The beach and sandbar were PERFECT for them. They could just run around and play in the sand and water for hours. This property was extremely family friendly.

Charlie, who runs the villas and lives nearby, is an absolute joy to have around. He is more than accommodating and made our stay even better. He's available to take care of any issues you may have and to answer any questions you need answered. He's a local, which helps, as he knows the island and is an endless source of information. His wife even made my wife rice and peas one night because he knew my wife was vegan and food options on the island might be limited for her. We also chose to pay for his pickup/return airport service and he was on-time and waiting for us when we got there. Charlie also leaves you with keys to a car he has on the property and you can use it any time you need at a reasonable daily rate that he charges only for the days you actually use it. I think he also has a boat that you can rent daily but we personally didn't used that service.

The villa was perfect for what we needed and had a kitchen stocked with all the silverware and dishes we needed to prepare our meals everyday. We just headed up to one of the local markets a couple of times during our stay and was able to buy all the food we needed to last us during our stay. The markets were in Georgetown, about a 10-15 minute drive up the street.

The island of Exuma is very quaint and store/restaurant hours vary a lot depending on the season, but when you're there you're on Bahama time. I loved the feeling of this island and how quiet it was. We didn't venture out to many other places while we were there as Charlie's property is so nice, we didn't feel any need to wonder off to any other beaches. We did head south to Little Exuma one day and ate at Mom's Bakery and Santana's Bar & Grill and they were both excellent.

This is a must stay location and we would recommend it to all types of beach goers.

“Absolute Perfection!”
Reviewed 4 October 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Mu husband and I stayed here in May for my 50th birthday. I wanted to celebrate somewhere beautiful, and the beach is my favorite place to be. We had never been to the Bahamas, and I did a lot of research on the best place to go. Exuma Cays won! We didn't want the crowds and expense of Sandals, so I read the reviews on Charlie's place, and they were all good, so I booked Villa #2. We had Charlie pick us up at the airport and drop us off at the end of our stay.
My best friend joined us a few days in, and there was plenty of room for all of us. We were to have neighbors in the adjoining Villa during our time there, who unfortunately for them, had to cancel their trip. That meant we had the pavilion to ourselves every day, and it was blissful! We had our coffee there in the morning, ate lunch there, and some days we just hung out there all day. The views cannot be beat, and the house was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We rented a car from Charlie on a few of the days we were there, and visited Emerald Bay beach and the Tropic of Cancer beach. We also used the kayaks one day when we finally got up the courage to venture over to Man O' War Cay (we were afraid the current would be too strong), and wish we had done it earlier in our stay. We trekked across the rocks and on the other side was a beautiful stretch of deserted beach. It was absolutely incredible! It looked like something from a post card or a Corona commercial! I wish we'd had more time to spend at Charlie's, it was perfect.
Thank you for your hospitality Charlie, and I hope you come through Hurricane Matthew unscathed!
Rob and Lisa

We stayed in Villa 2 for 4 nights & never wanted to leave. Charlie, the owner who lives next door made us feel like it was our home. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. The house is comfortable & super clean. Charlie works hard to keep everything in pristine condition on his property. When you turn off of the main road, you will go down a gravel road yo get to his house. At first, we were a little skeptical, b/c we thought how nice can it be back in here? But when you get to his villas at the end of the road, it is really nice & the grounds are well kept. When you walk out the back door of the house, you will have one of the most incredible views you will ever see in your life, with the white sand & crystal clear water ( just be careful at high tide, current can be strong running through there). You will want to sit out on the covered deck forever! So relaxing! Make sure to take time & go down to Tropic of Cancer beach, just beautiful. Also, go to Santana ' s for good lobster. Next door to Santana's is Mom's bakery, get the rum cake. She is a sweetheart! We are already planning a trip to come back next year to stay at Bay View! Thanks Charlie for being the ultimate host & for making this a place we hope to come back to year after year! Donna, Steve, Ashton & Meagan

“Perfect Honeymoon Getaway”
Reviewed 8 August 2016 for a stay in May 2016

My husband and I visited Bay View Vacation Rentals (Villa #2), May 21-28, for our honeymoon. It was absolutely amazing! The house was one of the cleanest places I've stayed and had everything you could possibly need. Very private and quiet spot on the island, and the view from the back deck is breathtaking. We got up every morning to drink coffee and have breakfast outside under the pavilion. The sunset and star-gazing are like nothing I've ever seen.

While there, Charlie and his family were so great. Such a kind and generous family. He took us by the store on our way in so we could stock up for the week and gave us so much great information about the island.

We explored the island, went to the Sunday Pig Roast at Chat-N-Chill, went to Tropic of Cancer beach, ate at Santana's, and did an excursion the first few days we were there. The last few days, we did not want to leave the house, and didn't! Why leave when you have everything where you stay! So awesome. We had access to the kayaks, where we went across to our own private beach and saw so many neat shells and a ton of starfish! amazing! We snorkeled just outside the house every day, too. There are so many beautiful, tropical fish to see! And of course, the sea turtle, Sherman, that lives there!

I can't say enough nice things about Charlie and his beautiful place. We are already planning a trip back. It couldn't have been a more perfect honeymoon. Thanks, Charlie!

Bay View rentals is the best rental in Exuma. Charlie and his family truly made us feel at home. He made sure we didn't have to worry about a thing. The a/c went out in the unit and Charlie caught it before we even food. He made sure it was fixed before night time. Any requests we had Charlie was quick to respond or take care of. He even brought us some fresh fruit which was absolutely amazing. He made us feel as if we were part of his family.
The house it's self is awesome as well. This was our second time renting this unit from Charlie. The house was so clean and very nice. The view from the porch is just breath taking. He has such a nice set up with the pavilion out by the water. The little beach was perfect for snorkeling in shallow water and we seen many fish.

We highly recommend this rental. Will always return here!!
