We just returned from our first stay at a Club Med in twenty years. We have often been disappointed in the food and the beaches at other all-inclusive resorts and decided to give Club Med a try. What a difference! Sure it's a little bit more expensive but when you factor in 42 (2 persons times 21 meals) high quality meals, a beautiful beach and pool and great staff, it is well worth the money.
We loved the place and will return. If you haven't been then give this place the nod and you won't regret it.

Outstanding value. Great beach and food. Julien , chef de village, was in contact with all customers at all times. The go's were very gracious and friendly. The rooms were adequate and we didn't get bit by any sand fleas. We will return to this little piece of paradise.

We went from May 20 to May 28, 2014. The beach, ocean, service, GO (Marion, Julien, and others …thx), animation, and the food was great. Nice place for snorkeling (reef shark, turtle, barracuda, ship wreck…). Very relax and calm.

The room are old, but clean. The view from the room is very good. Almost all room have ocean view.

Many GO speak French, English, and Spanish.

It was one are of the greatest vacation.

Thx Columbus

Room Tip: Almost all room have ocean view.

CM-Columbus Isle is a spectacular location on a very sparsely populated island which you arrive at by less than a handful of arrivals and departures per week. The quaint airport is effectively right outside of the CMCI resort ground, and the 5 minute walk is a treat. CM offers a warm welcome and shuttle bus for the very short trip to the front door where GOs greet you with a fresh drink and shows you to your vacation bungalow.

This is no typical all-inclusive. No buildings over 2 stories and each room feels custom cabana, situated generously along the beautiful beach and gardens, and most seemingly having a view of the Ocean. We loved our room, on the first floor, close to the dive shop, far enough away from the club, and with a view of the ocean, just a spectacular adult-orientated vacation away from Spring break madness!

We were drawn back to CMCI after a wonderful first CM vacation at Turks&C and for lack of available time to properly book a different vacation offering all the R&R, diving, fitness, and food opportunities we were looking for at CMCI. A great 10 dive package deal made me feel like a dive local and the dive masters were all very cool, friendly, and courteous.

We found the food at CMCI to be fantastic: very Fresh and everything we hoped for on Vacation, including the more refined dinner location.

All in all, the resort is very cool and ample opportunity to leave on bikes to explore the island and meet the locals. If I could offer one comment for improving the experience, well actually 2:

1. More of an opportunity to learn about what seems to be an undiscovered rich history of the island dating back beyond Columbus through perhaps a guided excursion by a local, through their eyes. Working with the locals more to not only create a better link to the local history for those keen to understand and explore this on vacation, but to also provide local business opportunities for CMCI to uphold it's mission to enhance it's host people's experience and provide a sustainable opportunity for the locals who have more to offer than waiting tables. Many people turn off learning and caring for the planet on vacation, but personally, I like to relax and do my best to learn and experience the world beyond the resort.
2. Actually follow through on Dark Chocolate Bread! We ordered 2 for take home, and they stiff ended up to be white chocolate.

All in all, a great value Vacation at a beautiful resort which does a great job of overcoming the challenge of catering to everyone in such a remote location! Thanks GO's and all!

Room Tip: Quieter closer to dive shop!

We have been going to Club Med for 25 years, and whenever we ask the G.O's & G.M's where to go snorkeling next, they all say Coulmbus Isle. Now we know why! The crystal clear water of the carribbean is hard to beat in regards all the varities of sea life you will encounter. The reefs are in great shape, the abundance of sea fans of all colors, astounding. We have never seen bigger Parrotfish than here in the Bahamas, and we have snorkeled Club Med all over the world.
The snorkel/dive boat leaves twice a day, once at 10:30 & again at 3:00. They always take you to a different site, Coral Gardens was my favorite, and I knew that when we went to Jacksons Paradise, we were going to work for the spotted rays, but the currant was not out of control. Because of the focus of the trtip was snorkeling , we stayed down towards the dive center in room 415. If you can, spend the extra to be on the second floor, the views are really great and it's a bit more quiet than if you were at the other end of the resort. I did walk one day to the other side and the views are awesome, and again if your focus was tennis/windsurfing you might want to be down at that end.
So many of the reviews before we left talked about the condition of the resort, and that is was in need of a refresh. We found this not to be the case. Our room could have not been more beautiful, everything was spotless due to the diligence of Nathalee & Diane who came and gave us fresh towels in the evenig and bid us a good night. While we did not go on many of the excursions, we did go on the one to Hay Cay. A brilliant day, and can not recomend enough. Make sure to book a reservation at the specialty restaurant, very romantic out on the balcony

Room Tip: Go for the second floor rooms Rooms down by the dive center are quieter
