Spent two nights in the Beaufort. Staff we're very keen, pleasant and helpful. Food was really good, well presented, simple and ver tasty. Breakfast was a delight. Suggest you try their fruit and yoghurt platter.yum! Never raved about fruit dish before but it was an experience that warrented the effort of writing this review.

I stayed at this hotel 4 years ago and was impressed - it is sadly in decline now and in need of refurb!
Carpets filthy bedroom decor v tired and service haphazard.
Only thing is that food is still good but bit pricey and menu in need of rehash - same menu as last time and a lack of less complicated quicker mid week food

Dear CNG 1239

Thank you for your observations, from your correspondence I cannot identify your name or what date you actually stayed, but I would have been happy if you had made your thoughts known to the management at the time and you would have then been aware of our onward developments at The Beaufort.

We have been in a very busy period of room occupancy, so much so that our periodic and systematic refurbishment of rooms which began last spring and much praised by guests using them, has had to be deferred until the beginning of October, when our decorator will work room by room, with paints and fabrics already bought complete without disturbance to guests. I may add that even through during this period you will see from other Tripadvisor reports your opinions are not confirmed by them. Our housekeeping has always had 5 star recognition from the AA and our carpets are automatically cleaned by professional cleaners in our Spring/Autumn routine.

Our current new Autumn menus begin on September 23rd under the direction of our Head Chef of the last 6 months who has brought his rosette experience with him. We have had very good reports both for the dishes and the prices, including our weekly changing Seasonal Set Price menu of rosette standard meals and also lunchtime favourites such as steak and ale pie, battered cod and mushy peas and chips which can hardly be called complicated or be withdrawn from our menu because they are popular.

Should you return to visit us I trust you will reconsider your opinion and realise that The Beaufort like other 3 star establishments strive for continuous improvements in their offerings.

This is a great place! I have stayed here many, many times because of the very nice rooms, cozy bar, tasty food, good wine and beer and friendly and helpful staff. It is all one could expect of an old fashioned inn- but with wi-fi. Also, Raglan is quiet and charming and the old castle is just a five minute walk away and a nice spot to visit in the evening. So don't stay at one of those awful plastic and impersonal motels- stay here!

A very enjoyable two night stay. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, the evening menu and cooked breakfasts were particularly good. Ideally placed to visit Raglan Castle.

Room Tip: Rooms in the hotel are preferable to those in the annexe. Rooms 2 and 7 have lovely view of church.

We wanted to show our Australian visitor some of the Wales area so we booked a night at the Beaufort Arms hotel in Raglan. Lovely little town location. The hotel had lots of character and the food was great. We had dinner and breakfast which we all enjoyed. Good value. Close to Raglan Castle which is amazing.

My wife and I recently spent two nights here with friends. What a wonderful find. We were made very much at home by all the staff, every request was dealt with in a most friendly and efficient manner. The atmosphere in the traditional bar and lounge was most relaxing. In the restaurant we thoroughly enjoyed the supurb quisine presented by chef, an excellent menu beautifully prepared and and served by a happy and thoughtful restaurant staff. Breakfast in the morning offered us a most comprehensive selection which set us up for the day. Our bedrooms were very compfortable, clean and airy. Close by to Raglan Castle and set in beautiful countryside my only complaint was to leave all this too soon. We will certainly reccommend the Beaufort Arms to our friends and as "Arnie" would say "We will return"!!

We spent a night here before attending a wedding which, conveniently, was at the church directly across the road. Four of us had dinner in the evening at the restaurant which was very nice. During our stay we enjoyed several drinks both in the bars and at the tables outside where we watched the locals coming and going in the sunshine. The only problem we had was that we were woken up by heavy traffic (probably tractors) passing by at 6 am! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Some other wedding guests tried to booked a table for dinner in the restaurant but were told that it was full which was strange as we were the only ones eating in it.

Room Tip: If you can get a room which is away from the main road it may avoid t moohe early morning traffic no...
