A last minute decision to visit South wales for the Eater break was made and we were recommended by a friend to stay at the Granary and it did not disappoint. We were staying in the Den, which had a double bed and a single bed on a mezzanine level with the living are and kitchen facilities and bathroom on the ground floor. It was a perfect base for us to visit nearby Usk, Caerleon and foray in to the Brecon Beacons.

The host Brian was extremely welcoming offering lots of local knowledge, lending us his maps and making a hearty cooked breakfast in the morning. Parking is secure and we even visited the dairy farm opposite t watch the cows being milked.

We would definitely stay again and recommend to all.

We booked at the Granary in order to attend a rugby match in Cardiff, as we wanted to avoid crowds; the landlord was really helpful in finding a suitable solution for us. As we arrived really late it was dark on the outside, so we spent a few minutes in finding the small unlightened sign on the main street, but the place is not hidden at all.
The building is an ancient granary, as per the name, that was expanded into a really nice house. Our apartment, the Loft, was on the attic, but the sloping roof was no problem at all; everything was tidy and clean, we cited in the reservation we had our baby with us and even found a ready-for-use baby cot in our room, even if we did not ask for it.
The breakfast (we were asked and we opted for a full english breakfast) was rich and freshly made, served in the bright home kitchen; the landlady gave us good advices on restaurants and was always in person to welcome us, even at late hours.
On the day of the match we reached Newport in 15 minutes by car, then went to Cardiff by train; everything was easy.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Snug during July .We had good weather so was able to enjoy the lovely outside gardens at the Granary .
Brian and his family were very welcoming and we enjoyed the cooked breakfasts .
With safe parking this place ticked all the boxes for us .
The snug was very comfortable, and with plenty to see in the area this was a good start to our trip round Wales .

We stayed in 'the snug' for the weekend in June.
It was very easy to find using the directions from the website.
Lovely location with beautiful views.
The Snug was clean, comfy and very well equipt. Having self catering facilities made our stay so much easier, especially with a young baby. There was also a travel cot and high chair we were able to use. Brian even held the baby during breakfast so I could eat!
We were made to feel so welcome and I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

Brian, you're a star and we can't wait to come back and see you.

My daughter and I stayed in 'The Snug', which was charming, with a young baby and an enormous Great Dane! So many places claim to make you welcome, and to accommodate dogs, but with the biggest dog in the world, it has always been difficult to find the perfect accommodation.
We had plenty of space, great facilites (including fridge, kettle, cooker, microwave and a decent sized dining table too!)
The lovely garden was perfect for us to enjoy and safe for the dog to wander, with no fear of cars . Although the cows over the road were fascinated by him, they soon got used to him.

The Granary was easy to find, very close to the M4 but in the beautiful Welsh countryside.

Breakfasts were yummy, and our lovely host not only cooked it, but even held the baby so that we could eat our food while it was hot.

I can't recommend The Granary highly enough. I've been in the hospitality industry all my life and tend to be quite picky. This extraordinary B&B is friendly, well run, exceptionally good value and an excellent base for anyone exploring beautiful South Wales.

Room Tip: Book early - believe the website, it's one of the very few that are honest! It's not The Ri...

We stayed at the Granary for eight days and Brian was very helpful and gave excellent advice on local sites. We stayed in the "Den" and found it very comfortable. Breakfast was great and cooked to our orders. The Granary is located in a beautiful and quiet setting. Loved our stay!
