“Idyllic Location.”

Such a lovely setting in the most serene of locations. The staff here are ever welcoming, extremely accommodating and sincerely friendly. Whilst the exterior of the actual bar/resaturant istels is maybe a little tired; the intererior and that of the accommodation rooms, is absolutely superb, along with being tastefully decorated. I would recommended this to anyone looking for delcious food in a very warm and friendly environment. The accommodation is very quaint, the bathroom faciiities are luxurious, no deatil has been spared. Thank you for a wonderfully pleasant experience.

Booked a one night dinner bed and breakfast to suprise my girlfriend, got a little lost on the way as didn't follow the hotels directions!
Check in was very good , shown to our room which was in a seperate building, the room itself was nicely furnished with plenty of space.bathroom was lovely stone floors with cast iron bath and fantastic seperate shower.
Only complaint is the matress wasn't the most comfortable, could probably do with a change
Dinner was fantastic, the welsh beef main course for 2 in partcular was superb.
Free shuttle to main resort arrived shortly after we requested it and took about 10 mins to get there.
Had some cocktails in the bar where they had a great duo called brotherhood, really good.
Breakfast was great loads of choice all of which were of the highest quality.
All in all a lovely relaxing stay

Even though we got married at the Newbridge it had been a while since we visited. We had vouchers at Christmas and chose this out of the selection available at the Celtic. We arrived to a friendly welcome and had a drink on the river bank before our meal. At first I looked at the lunch menu (Al a carte) and was a little disappointed at the choice of four dishes. This sort of made us choose outside the box. Wife had pate and I had a goats cheese mouse. Both were stunning. I then had the vegetarian option ( unusual for me ) Arancini Sicilian rice balls and the wife had chicken ( wow fantastic tastes ) and we both really enjoyed the meals. Deserts were fine. Staff were helpful and friendly and I am confident they would have dealt with any issues well- there were none and we both had a lovely afternoon which was complimented by the food. Three courses are £19 which is actually really good value- food is pricier on the main menu but more than happy with the Al a carte. Great to be back and looking forward to next visit.
The building is just on the turn and could do with a lick of paint before the summer season outside, as it is a celtic resort property and expectations are high, but that's it- recommended.......

Room Tip: Sunny day makes all the difference because of riverside setting

Today we visited The Newbridge on Usk for Cream tea, to use a gift voucher for Cream tea & Prosecco, after visiting the Celtic Manor on many times, this was our first visit The Newbridge on Usk Hotel, we thought the hotel looked very run down from the outside and wasn't looking forward to the inside?
There was no disabled parking at the hotel, which was OK as their were plenty of parking as the hotel was very quiet.
We approached the bar and was greeted very welcoming, shown to our table, which was not very clean, thank goodness for Purell sanitizer! As both myself and partner were not able to have the Prosecco, due to driving and medication, we asked if we could take the bottle to drink at a later time, but were told no? But were allowed a soft drink instead!
We ordered our selection of just cakes, lemonade & Coffee, which was all very good, until the coffee & cakes arrived, the cakes were awful, the chocolate cake tasted like fish? The scones were like rock cakes and were that hot the cream melted into them, so I'd say they were burnt! The apple and cream horn, tasted very savoury, as if it should contain meat? The Victroia sandwich was like it had been defrosted? The other cakes were OK, but overall, terrible!
Then the pest control man came into the pub and began to spray insecticide which was the nail in the coffin!
One of the members of staff came over to us, as if to collect the cakes and stand, then asked "was everything OK?" Our reply was no & then said the reasons why, he then relayed the complaint to the assistant manager Andy, who came over to ask for our reasons in our dislike, so we told him and took the complaints very well, so he could then relay the comments back to the chef? He then said he would telephone me with the feedback, I await the call?
Totally disappointed by the visit, as the food was not five star, but the staff were very welcoming!

I stayed here with my partner for one night as it was near to a conference I was attending. We were plesantly surprised when we pulled up.

The hotel is a pretty building on the river and has fantastic views and inside it is very quaint and I loved the feel of the place.

We arrived at 12 and couldnt check in till 4 (!!) so we went to the Celtic manor resort and used the spa facilities which is all included and that was lovely.

When we got in our room (number 4) it was again lovely decor and had a big bath and walk in shower and we were rally pleased with it.

We were not pleased with the woman above insisting on walking round in her heels on wood floors, I know this sint the hotels fault but maybe a thought for the people underneath when having floorboards?

We ate at the hotel and the food was fantastic as was breakfast the next day and the service was great.

Some minor annoyances such as the bed being old and lumpy with a dip in the middle and the springs being noisy and the late check in and the noise made it less than perfect but it was still a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Choose the upstairs rooms? Room 4 was lovely but a little noisy if other guests are inconsiderate

I took my partner for a birthday meal and overnight stay, and everything was perfect.

The staff were very attentive and made it feel like a special occasion. The food was excellent and, while expensive, was worth it.

The room was beautiful and comfortable, lovely bathroom, and the view is exceptional. I also like being able to check out at 11am.

I'd choose this over the Celtic Manor any day. You don't feel like you're on a conveyor belt, but an important guest.

Been coming here for years, has seen a few changes of ownership and management, and sadly its now lost a little of its charm. There were no less then tree lunch menus, none were very good value, the service was a little chaotic (wrong wine, orders lost) but I woful add, vert polite. Its not that they are not trying, but you can tell its now just another branch of a large charmless hotel.

Go for a drink, but don't expect anything special should you decide to eat.
