Rooms good size always clean with TV and free Wi-Fi but phone signal poor. Bar and restaurants second to none. Staff friendly and helpful. Prices good and a walk in the surrounding area is recommended its a beautiful location. one to be recommended plus. It does get busy and table booking is recommended in the busy season which nowadays is almost all year round.

The Greyhound is in a picturesque setting in the countryside around Usk. Hadnt visited for a while and it was such a lovely evening and it's a pretty drive from where we live and we felt like a nice meal sat out in a beautiful garden. Inside it's a little olde worlde but we prefer to be outside in the warm weather,it has a friendly and relaxing ambience, very informal. The gardens are lovely. The menu is of traditional pub favourites very reasonably priced and an extensive specials board. We ordered a starter of goujons of plaice.very nice with lemon. Main courses were very generous portions of an absolutely delicious moroccan lamb, with real mash and peas, the other being scampi, chips and peas. A shared dessert was a huge homemade white chocolate and lemon cheesecake. A very nice meal in a beautiful setting. Has an antique shop in it's grounds as well. We didnt stay overnight as it's not far from home but the rooms are at the far end of the garden overlooking a fountain and pond.

A lovely, friendly and informal atmosphere with beautifully cooked huge portions of food . Have been many times and have never been disappointed . We didn't stay in the hotel but our relatives loved their family room when they did .

Revisiting the Greyhound on the Wales v England was a truly lovely experience. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming and the food was excellent. The menu was good and all 8 members of our group were pleased with their choices of food. The steaks, fish and veggie dish were excellent! A relaxing and enjoyable experience due to the high quality service and food.

This hotel had the typical coffee/tea tray in the room. The bathroom was cramped but managable. But all rooms were in a separate stone building away from the noise of the popular pub/restaurent. They were also some distance from the very quiet B road. They were right next to an A divided highway, which I didn't notice until the second day because it is so well screened. Thick walls prevented any noise to be heard in the room anyway. There is a giant parking lot. Our room was large, fresh-smelling and well-heated. There was cared-for furnishings and space to hide suitcases. First floor rooms have french doors to separated patios for us smokers. The bed was a little soft for me but had descent reading lights. About L70 or $100.
Check out the reviews for the the Restaurent at the Greyhound Inn. It's definitely worth eating there. Breakfast was in a bright modern room, often served by the jovial chef/manager; a real spark in a very friendly place. There were many choices on the menu and the "full Welsch" breaky was probably the best during 7 stops in Wales.
We used The Greyhound to visit Dyffryn Gardens, Dewstow Gardens and Grottoes (one of the most magical places in Britain) and it could be used to visit Cardiff.
One note of caution for American travelers: The Hotel seems to be way out in the country and difficult to get to. But it isn't. If you come through Usk, you will have to weave and dodge between rows of parked cars in the road. This is normal in Great Britain now because the towns weren't built for cars. The Greyhound is 2.5 miles out of Usk, which can seem like an eternity on winding narrow roads. On your second trip you will realize how short the distance is. And the views along the road are breath-taking. The hotel is well worth the effort!

Room Tip: First floor has patios and #1 has a view of the beautiful Inn

We stayed at the Greyhound last weekend September 22nd owing to my niece's wedding where the wedding breakfast was held in the barn across the road. The accommodation and food was top quality and whilst I have passed the Inn many times it was the first time I had stayed there. Very welcoming staff and made us feel at home. The gardens are well maintained and the inn is a gem. Well done.

My wife and I visited the Greyhound Inn recently for the first time in several years. It was just as good as we remembered. The barn conversion bedroom was very comfortable and excellent value. The staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant serves interesting traditional meals without the pretensions common elsewhere.
