Have just read the LizBordeaux review - isn't it time people stopped posting obvious and very malicious 'roastings' ? This is such an obvious spoiler. I go to Deli Delights maybe two or three times a month and there is always a huge choice of speciality cheeses, sausages, olives, tapas etc and freshly made quiches, pies, muffins, cakes. There's always soup, baguettes, toasties and similar available and the best bacon sandwiches this side of heaven. Malicious postings deprive hard working and dedicated people of their livelihood. Behave!

As locals we regularly visit Deli Delights. Mandy has a ever growing selection of quality day to day items like ground coffee, fresh eggs, sour dough bread, cheese etc. The baguettes are very tasty and excellent value for money! Highly recommended :-)

Whenever in Wales, we are regular visitors to this cosy tearoom which is bursting with traditional character and packed to the rafters with "olde-worlde" charm. Owner Mandy's attention to detail is remarkable; whether it is the decorative individuality which gives the endearing tearoom such a homely feel, or in her well-informed selection of produce available in the Delicatessen. Food is fresh and prepared every day by Mandy herself; her home-baking skills are the stuff of local legend and we are always begging her to enter the Great British Bake-Off! For such a relatively small establishment the range of savoury and sweet pastries and bakes is remarkable; the salad selections innovative, varied and tasty; and her homemade coleslaw deserves special mention as it is sublime. Whether packing for a picnic on the nearby breathtaking beach (Poppit Sands) or pausing for a light lunch or other refreshment, there really is something for everyone - not least because Mandy is additionally sensitive to the needs of those suffering from food allergies/intolerances using nut-free ingredients and gluten-free flour in her bakes; and even stocking a yummy local goats' milk ice cream so that people with dairy intolerance don't miss a treat. Her homemade Scotch eggs and Homity Pie are utterly delicious and her Bara Brith, arguably the best in Wales; with antipasti and ploughmans' platters served to look as well as taste divine. The hot paninis are offered with a good choice of varied fillings and come with a generous selection of sides - you certainly won't be left hungry for choice! Indeed the fact that it is invariably busy - whether with local "regulars" or visitors from further afield - shows that Mandy has absolutely "hit the spot" when it comes to catering for one and all. There is seating both inside and out; and service is prompt, attentive and unfailingly cheerful. As we live in Sri Lanka we are very particular about the perfect cuppa; hence her teas and coffees should also be mentioned as Mandy certainly knows her stuff on that score as well; having trained in the subject at the School of Fine Food in Wincanton. A wide variety of high quality herbal and loose-leaf teas (you can even create your own bespoke blend!) is served in charming bone china cups; and the superb selection of ethically-sourced Fairtrade coffees is correctly presented in individual cafitieres. And on a hot summer's day nothing beats her gorgeous iced coffee...! On the Delicatessen side Mandy has similarly succeeded; as there is a sensitive balance of local and international produce available to suit all palates. The range of excellent Welsh cheeses is complemented with some superb continental varieties; similarly with her range of cured meats. A wide range of plump olives, zesty cornichons and stuffed baby peppers and pattypans is temptingly displayed in big, colourful continental bowls; whilst dried goods ranging from pantry essentials to more unusual fare such as nettle risotto and artisan charcoal stoneground biscuits for cheese (the latter marrying perfectly with a good mature semi-soft cheese such as Caws Cenarth Perl Wen, or Camembert) are beautifully presented in wicker baskets, old tea chests and a charming range of eclectic antique dressers. Whatever you're after, rest assured Mandy's unfailing eye for detail, ear for her customers' needs and skilled hands will rustle up something as memorable as her lovely smile and warm welcome. Whether stocking up for a dinner party, lazing away the hours with a casual picnic on the beach, looking for an exquisite gift for someone special or simply in need of rest and refreshment, you'll find something to nourish and cherish in St Dogmael's wonderful Deli Delights.

Having read the review we decided to get a takeaway lunch from Deli Delights. We had anticipated a good choice of salads or delicatessen goodies but the choice was between 3 types of quiche or a bit of cheese. We elected for a mushroom quiche with some green salad. Unfortunately this was one of the worst quiches I have had. The pastry was tough and the filling sparse and tasteless. The salad was limp and uninviting. Overall very disappointing.
