“Perfection on the beach”

If you have ever flown 1st class economy will never do. Lydstep Beach is truly a first class resort. The moment you drive on to the park relaxation and pleasure takes over your senses. The park nestled in its own private bay overlooking Caldey Island. Lydstep also lies on the Pembrokeshire coastal path with stunning walks to either Tenby or Manorbier. The club House is a 19th century Manor House very tastefully decorated with a mix of original oak panels and a new contemporay restaurant and bar area. The food was first class and our family ate outside most days overlooking the ocean. For the family they offer watersport activities which include Jetskis, seal watching, kayaks banana rides and coaststeering. My kids disappeared for the week with the Park Rangers they spent the whole week either using the climbing walls, learning bushcraft and swimming in the pool and sea. The final endorsment for the park is that at the end of the week we were so enamoured by the park that we purchased our own holiday home at Lydstep, enough said.

Room Tip: Book directly through the park and not head office

wow, what can i say, had read all the previous reviews on tripadvisor so yes i had got high expectations. these were met and exceeded... having 2 small children we have visited many haven sites all over the uk but this by far is the very best, the caravan was beautiful with views to rival any abroad destination, the complex is equally lovely decorated in warm tones and wonderful rattan and cushioned furniture to relax on outside and enjoy the views. the entertainment at night is understated but more than adequate for young children (no screaming or worrying about the kids). all enquiries to reception were dealt with efficiently and quickly. the entertainment manager was exceptional and made our holiday very special. we were there for the royal wedding weekend so the site had organised a tea party for the young ones, lovely touch.. i really could go on and on, if you are looking for a blackpool, this probably wouldnt be the site for you, but if like us you like the kids to be happy and relaxed in a safe, understated beautiful site then yes book it now, we will definately be returning

Very lovely holiday park and very clean. Best caravan holiday we have had so far but definately dissapointed with the children's entertainment but we were told by the entertainments manager that we could use Kiln Park so the little one wasn't disappointed. The view from the caravan was breath-taking and with their own private beach what more could you ask for? Water sports taking place on the beach and plenty to do for all ages. Would definately recommend to tohers and will definately return again 10 out of 10.

We have just returned from this beautiful Haven park. We have stayed in quite a few Haven park's over the past couple of years with our young son and I have got to say that this has definately been the best! We even extended our stay.
You are slightly limited on entertainment but we used our passes to go to the next Haven site, Kiln park so our young son could see Bradley Bear in the evening show.
Our caravan was excellent. We did pay slightly more to upgrade to a platinum caravan but it was worth it. Our view was excellent and we had direct access to the beach, we could not have asked for a better spot on the park. Yes the park was quiet but this made it all the more special.
The only niggle we had was that the pool times were advertised and given to us on arrival but every time we visited we got asked to leave 15mins before time was up. We questioned this and was told it was to get ready for the next slot of pool entertainment. A little dissapointing as you are quite restricted as to when you could swim anyway! (although this suited us a family).
Lots to do locally. A must it to take a horse carridge ride on Major Tom and his driver in the local town of Tenby. It was £3.00 each and we got told of the local history and got to see some fantastic sights, my son thought it was great!
I would say that this Haven park is a must to visit. We will return.

We took our kids (8 and 5 at the time) to Ibiza and on our return they asked 'but when are we going back to Lydstep' - we all love the place - beautiful clean beach (some shingle), rock pools full of crabs, fantastic headland walks to secluded coves, in the mains school hols entertainment every night but never a problem getting a seat and the kids (now 10 and 7) are safe to play with new friends in the small arcade and playground attached to the entertainment area. The indoor pool is never too busy with doors to a patio area that has a fabulous view over Caldey island. The majority of the caravans are privately owned but several of the owners rent them out and the park is beautifully maintained.

Out and about there is lots to do,. Tenby is like a little peace of cornwall with lots of individual shop and good places to eat as well as a great beach, there are daily trips to Caldey island (stepping back in time about 40 years), Saundersfoot and Manorbier are other seaside resorts. If you dont mind a walk and some steps go to Barafundle Bay or Broadhaven sands for amazing beaches with crystal clear water. There are several castles nearby, Carew castle is lovely with activities during school hols. On a wet day try the Silent Aquarium in Tenby (sealife, spiders, snakes and the like in an old church).

Can't wait to go back there in August 09.

We have done 5/6 of havens parks over the last couple of years since our daughter was born and have had hardly any complaints about any of them, although we have learned to ALWAYS pay the extra for a decent caravan(prestige at very least)the standard or superior(which never are)just dont cut it.
Lydstep is without doubt the finest we have been to,all caravans are privately owned and most have superb sea/beach views.the prestige we hired for the week we were more than pleased with(£200 mon -fri,altho booked 2 months in advance)overlooking the sea.
The only negative we had was as this is an owner site it was VERY quiet during the week so the entertainment is virtually non existent until fri/sat night,to put it another way i went down to the complex twice and was one of 6 people in both times, was informed that weekends are busy however with an entertainments programme.Kiln park however is 3 miles down the road and haven sorted us some free passes to keep our 2 year old happy as she loves the cheese.
Rained all week which didnt spoil what was an excellent break,5 star park, nice pool, worth staying for the views alone and private pebble beach and will return for a weekender sometime.
